They just give off that image,I drove a 99 civic hatch back with a type R swap and got mad props from just about every car genre,the car accelerated faster than most cars on the road and could out handle just about anything in my path. Now im driving my second 330ci(bad car accident in my first) I love the 330ci so much I bought it again,nothing else I drove seemed to measure up. There's much more to a true driver's car than just 0-whatever.BMW are so wonderfu to drive, and although the vert is slower of course, 330CI is a quick car, mid 5s 0-60 with the right options and 1550MPH+ as well.

After a bit or research, I found that your car should be making 0-60 times of 8.2 seconds. 330CI in this video has more power to it but weighs much more, and as we found out in our "Weight Loss Project" video a couple hundred pounds can make a big difference. Honestly I think the reason that there is only a 1.5 to 1.8 second gain is because the weight in the convertible 330CI offsets the power gain.

the new model is shit bought a 2008 m convertible good looking car but been plagued with problems , bmws are overated and service providers are crap,has any one experienced similar problems i really cant believe how crap they have got another friend of mine bought a x6 he also had problems with the vehicle.mercs are far better for the money and category.

@davconelectric In our update video we took the same car out again and got 6.5 seconds. The manual version is a bit faster. The thing I hear over and over on these 330s is that a cold air intake paired with better software will give you good results. I suggest the Dinan High Flow Intake and Matched Software.
@davconelectric Buy the ZHP make sure its SMG or Manual, without any work on it it will be in the 5 second times 5.7-5.9. If you mean 5.0 seconds then you gotta put in an ESS supercharger or TT Turbo, both should put it at around 4.5-4.7 in perfect conditions.
You can buy it, you'll have a great car. This version is a convertible, so you got to deal with weight difference. 330ci Coup weight's around 200kg less, but if you are searching for an STOCK E46 that put's 5 sec, the M3 is the car to choose. Cheers.

Im not really to keen on dropping 45k on a 7 year old car and then having to replace the Cog Box. Hi again. Indeed, SMG1 from E36 models it's not a good choice, they have many problems and they are not efficient in long term. SMG2 on E46 is a lot more reliable, also more fast on gear change. With the second one, you shouldn't find any issue. But, i have to say that if you want to enjoy the M3, the manual gear box is the one to choose. If the car you choose is in excellent condition (oil service, etc, all done in the agency), the only thing to look after is the brakes.
@davconelectric On the other hand, an 330Ci manual is an excellent choice (mostly for the price diff regarding M3), and as LimitPushing said, if you put an Intake, Remap software, it will chage a lot. I have a friend who has a Compresseur one and it pull very hard (about 300Hp). Also these engines are very reliable. Hope that helps ;)
Step is way faster than manual, if you know what you're doing. 330ci sports cabrio (which I have now) as its a manual but my 330ci Coupe was step (my prev car). Try this: Standing start, push stick over to manual, gear 1, foot on brake, ready? hit the accellerator to the floor and then a bit further to get the "kick down" going and keep it there. Car will redline right the way up the box BUT will change down 500-750 revs higher than normal. God damned magic carpet ride...

Ok lets figure this out. First off, in the update video of this car, we fiddled with some stuff and went for another go. The new run got 6.5 secs. You're pretty close on your MKV time, 0-60 is about 6 seconds, so it is faster...why? Secondly, look at the curb weight. The convertible E46 330ci weighs about 560 pounds more than the MKV. So in all honesty, I expect the sporty hatch to beat the convertible luxury coupe.
@D12eams my cousin has a 1/4 mile timer and it tells you 0-60 as well, he has an 09 andhe got best 0-60 on his manual 6.08 secs.....car and driver got 5.8 i know from experience.
@Drurison The official time from BMW is 6.8 sek.. I doubt a convertible stock can hit 6.5 .. I have the 330ci convertible myself.. And it a really heavy car. over 1700kg! that does make power to weight bad although it still manages to gét under 7sek.

I have owned a 5.0 mustang, my brother owns a firebird, and my buddies have evos/ hondas/ subies/ vettes/ camaros. I now own a bimmer, and maybe they are'nt as powerful as the turbos or the v-8's, but they have personality, alot of speed, great handling, luxury, and the name. Not to mention they are fucking bullet proof. It might cost more to repair, but you'll do it less.

Very nice but IMHO and matter of taste (no offence) You could acheive a more aggressive look as well as unique by going with aftermarket rims, possibly staggered, depending on the budget. M3 replica wheels have too much of a negetive offset. To me it just takes more away then the stock wheels give.
I think the E90 is closer to 6 flat...you could swap it out, but it costs about $2k + ~3 hours of labor. May as well get a faster car to begin with like a 335i if you can afford it.

@davconelectric In our update video we took the same car out again and got 6.5 seconds. The manual version is a bit faster. The thing I hear over and over on these 330s is that a cold air intake paired with better software will give you good results. I suggest the Dinan High Flow Intake and Matched Software.

@davconelectric Buy the ZHP make sure its SMG or Manual, without any work on it it will be in the 5 second times 5.7-5.9. If you mean 5.0 seconds then you gotta put in an ESS supercharger or TT Turbo, both should put it at around 4.5-4.7 in perfect conditions.

You can buy it, you'll have a great car. This version is a convertible, so you got to deal with weight difference. 330ci Coup weight's around 200kg less, but if you are searching for an STOCK E46 that put's 5 sec, the M3 is the car to choose. Cheers.

@M3passion Ive been looking around for an m3, I hear the SMG 1 had problems... Does the SMG 2 have any issues? Im not really to keen on dropping 45k on a 7 year old car and then having to replace the Cog Box. Most of the e46's ive been looking at have around 90k - 150k on the clock, are there any other issues i should be looking out for when shopping? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi again. Indeed, SMG1 from E36 models it's not a good choice, they have many problems and they are not efficient in long term. SMG2 on E46 is a lot more reliable, also more fast on gear change. With the second one, you shouldn't find any issue. But, i have to say that if you want to enjoy the M3, the manual gear box is the one to choose. If the car you choose is in excellent condition (oil service, etc, all done in the agency), the only thing to look after is the brakes.

@davconelectric On the other hand, an 330Ci manual is an excellent choice (mostly for the price diff regarding M3), and as LimitPushing said, if you put an Intake, Remap software, it will chage a lot. I have a friend who has a Compresseur one and it pull very hard (about 300Hp). Also these engines are very reliable. Hope that helps ;)

Step is way faster than manual, if you know what you're doing. 330ci sports cabrio (which I have now) as its a manual but my 330ci Coupe was step (my prev car). Try this: Standing start, push stick over to manual, gear 1, foot on brake, ready? hit the accellerator to the floor and then a bit further to get the "kick down" going and keep it there. Car will redline right the way up the box BUT will change down 500-750 revs higher than normal. God damned magic carpet ride...

Ok lets figure this out. First off, in the update video of this car, we fiddled with some stuff and went for another go. The new run got 6.5 secs. You're pretty close on your MKV time, 0-60 is about 6 seconds, so it is faster...why? Secondly, look at the curb weight. The convertible E46 330ci weighs about 560 pounds more than the MKV. So in all honesty, I expect the sporty hatch to beat the convertible luxury coupe.

@Drurison The official time from BMW is 6.8 sek.. I doubt a convertible stock can hit 6.5 .. I have the 330ci convertible myself.. And it a really heavy car. over 1700kg! that does make power to weight bad although it still manages to gét under 7sek.

I have owned a 5.0 mustang, my brother owns a firebird, and my buddies have evos/ hondas/ subies/ vettes/ camaros. I now own a bimmer, and maybe they are'nt as powerful as the turbos or the v-8's, but they have personality, alot of speed, great handling, luxury, and the name. Not to mention they are fucking bullet proof. It might cost more to repair, but you'll do it less.

Very nice but IMHO and matter of taste (no offence) You could acheive a more aggressive look as well as unique by going with aftermarket rims, possibly staggered, depending on the budget. M3 replica wheels have too much of a negetive offset. To me it just takes more away then the stock wheels give.

I think the E90 is closer to 6 flat...you could swap it out, but it costs about $2k + ~3 hours of labor. May as well get a faster car to begin with like a 335i if you can afford it.
