  • thanks for posting this

  • HFS biography.

  • Cool song that got some play around here in MN USA but one of the dumbest band names in history.

  • I have the album

  • its a classic on pink vinyl

  • I just got my old cassette tapes out of my shed curious as if they might still play, and sure enough they did ! ! ! I hadn't played them since the '80s. One of the first tapes I played was by the Fabulous Poodles, so I am posting this really FUN video starring Peter Cook on his very own show ! ! ! ENJOY ! ! !

  • these guys r near genius as I am,lol

  • sit down and shut the fuck up

  • I saw these guys may have been 1978 Colchester University, think they where supporting the band UK

  • I saw these guys open for Tom Petty at the LA Sports Arena in I think 1981.

  • @craigbogan Saw that tour in Oakland, these guys got booed off the stage :(

Seeing Chuck Berry live was unreal though!

  • Peter Cook was a genius, after he saw someone hit Sid Vicious in the face he said it was a rare occurence of the fan hitting the shit!!!!!

  • fear is your only obstacle

  • saw them open for The Ramones I was impressed by the electric violin

  • manchester wrister..... saw them in76 supporting meatloaf on the mancester appolo brilliant

  • written by Elvis Costello?

  • sry,my mistake,it speaks to not for kids who want to be starz

  • this song speaks for any kid who wants to be a rockstar

  • u'll be a star someday no doubt

  • now let's hear the band

  • very nice,very nice

  • u brits are randy aren't u? lol

  • hi I'm back was just listening to the Ramones

  • Massively underated band that could have gone all the way but were just a little unfashionable at the time. This should have been a No 1.

  • "....everywhere I go....I have this huge cult following me.." ☺ ;-j

~ RIP ~ Peter Cook, Nellie & Suzie.

  • 1st time i heard electric violin was the Poodles,I love it!

  • saw them open for the Ramones 1979 Chicago

  • Just found this album for 25 cents at Goodwill(thrift store) what a find! Just awesome music!!!!

  • Brilliant song, loved Revolver, but what an awful way of filming this! Saw Bobby Valentino this weekend, and great to talk about the Golden Age of Deptford

  • This is, for lack of a better way to put it, FABULOUS!!!!! Thanks so much for posting this. I love this band. Saw them live in AZ in 1980! Big pink sunglasses hovered over the stage as a set piece. Still have the LP and play it frequently.

  • saw vh at philly spectrum 79

  • love electric violin

  • i saw them open 4 RAMNES in Chicago 79

  • these guys opened for Van Halen in 1979.

  • This album "Mirror Stars " could have made them [Fab Poos] a major hit for 1978 if we at Epic Records hadn't dropped the ball on them ! we just had too many artists to work at the time of this release, and not enough man power to cover everyone of them. Hell even by today's standards....this is still one of the best POP albums ever released. Sorry lads. But at least the music lives on.

    cheers

  • A fun band. Can anybody dig up a video for 'Tit Photographers Blues'?

  • @surlechapeau That's the song I am looking for. Had the album at one time but I loved that song!

  • love the fab poos, also saw them w/tom petty & the hb's in seattle, 1979...

  • @jpdog Hi, I saw the Fab Poos also with Tom Pety, same show, Paramount NW, 1979! and my friend & I hung out with the FP's after the concert!

  • @Keeks4 !Lucky! too fun! they were such an awesome band, and w/tp...who could go wrong! i went w/a co-waitress pal and her little sister who brought a gaggle of gays from maBell, they all worked together and we had a blast!!!

  • @Keeks4 fb me so i can see your pics; mukilteo!

  • @jpdog - you should be able to just go onto Facebook and search for "Remember You're A Poodle" group page....then you can see the pictures I just posted tonight from the Seattle show in '79. It's an open group for any Poodles fan to check out, lots of cool stuff and Tony and Bryn from the Poodles comment frequently!

  • Saw these guys on tour with a group called 3D and Tom Petty what a show. Poodles Do it all. Get the album off Amazon.

  • Crap, it was really about 15 years ago.

  • This sounds like "A Quick One."

  • Cant find these guys on itunes. Damn it.

  • Work Shy !

  • I remrember this programme. Wasn't there also a band called Brent Ford and the Nylons? The bird was Susie Baker from the Benny Hill Show.

  • saw 'em open 4 the Ramones in Chicago '79,had an 8 track of them but had to find album on net.Love the electric violin, one of earliest groups that I can remember using, other than country bands.

  • This song was a great inspiration to me when I was 16. The lyrics spoke directly to me at the time, and I still dig this song.

  • Great song. Would love to see them perform "Tit Photographer Blues"!

  • Still evokes the same feelings as the first time I saw them get booed off the stage as AC/DC openers.

  • Didn't Elvis Costello write this song?

  • That's the original Bobby Valentino playing the violin thru one of those voice tube things.

  • I have this button flag that I have had FOREVER! I was pondering it and saw a button for The Fabulous Poodles" Shit, what a stupid name!! I decided to look on youtube. What do you know, there they are. I have a photo album with all of my concert stubs. I knew I had went to see them. 3-15-79 for 2$. Nice. The stub is obviously pre-computer days. Back when they use to print them with color and style. This one is hot pink. Very appropriate.

  • Chicago Boxcar Boston Back !!

  • I saw this band open for Tom Petty at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. WOW! This was a great band!

  • another goose pump song..thanks

  • nice

  • i LOVE this song. Bought it right after i saw them on American Bandstand sometime in the 70s. I still have the 45! It's cherished in my collection.

  • I believe John Entwistle of The Who produced or managed this band.

  • My God the Fabulous Poodles. I didn't think I would get a hit. I loved this song when it came out. A hit for a few short months - still a great song - 1 hit wonder.

  • I saw these cats open for Tom Petty on the Damn the Torpedoes tour in about 1980 in Iowa City. Fab Poos still rock my world...

  • takes me back .. saw the poodles on the same tour but in england. Had Mirror Star on a single though (which led me to buying their album), so think i was one of the few people in the audience who knew them and could sing along!

  • I was at that same concert. Drove from Iowa State to see it. Didn't go to see Tom Petty, went to see the Fabulous Poodles. It seems they got a more enthusiastic reception as I remember.

  • In that same period, I drove to Iowa State to see the Who. Great to know someone else was moved by the FabPoos that fateful night.

  • The band wasn't known in Australia, but I found this record whilst collecting singles on Pye Records in a second hand shop and thought this song was excellent. Great to have it on Youtube, thanks!

  • wow i cant belive these are on here too bad mr mike isnt though

  • Thanks for this.Thort i was the only person in the world that remembered this unique band!

  • What a great song!! the lyrics are so fantastic, I havent heard this for ages and I still LOVE it! A lotta heart this song has, for all those who love rock and roll and have dreams. Still dreaming.

a song for the pushed around (I'm suddenly thinking of Joe Jackson's On Your Radio!)

    GREAT, TFP!

  • Love the song! Takes me back to my days at RIT ... WCMF played Mirror Star constantly for a stretch. The video is the icing on the cake!
