I'll say it again, the Army of Subscription Gnomes is a genius idea, I can't believe I missed these vids before - part of the joy of You Tube I guess is discovering these little treasures :)

Comedy does have a glimme of truth in it. I really like this video alot. It was as if renetto had some YouTube Idol-esque contest. It was a little ridiculous. Fame on YouTube is so... insignificant, really. It doesn't really translate to success in the real world (unless you're Brookers or ParisHilton).  But... yeah. I'm new to your videos, and I have to say, I am going to click that big orange "subscribe" button. Good job :)

I know exactly what you mean. I had a huge spike in subscribership a while back. It has since died off and I'm gaining new subscribers at a more reasonable rate now. However, I am in no way disheartened by the drop. The video which has gained me the largest number of subscribers was made purely for my own entertainment. I have never intended to do anything more than entertain myself, and my friends and family. The fact that other people enjoy what I do is both astounding and appreciated.

Hell Yes.

YouTube celebrities evolve through word of mouth, that is the beauty of this site. You can't 'make' someone a celelbrity - it smacks of the engineered reality tv celebs for some reason.

Oh, and this video has done NOTHING to help my pathalogical fear of gnomes. (Well actually scarecrows but it's the same sort of thing)

While I had primarily intended this video to be a comedy bit, as they say, good comedy has a glimmer of truth in it. Personally, I don't understand why someone would WANT fame. I mean, unless they're out to make money. But, money only gets you so much.

I live out in the sticks surrounded by field. Then when i was little i read this Point Horror book 'The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight'... That kinda thing haunts you forever

haha this is such a great video- even though there's not a huge amount to look at, it keeps you (well, me) entertained with the editing. PLus the narration etc was good, and uh, good idea.

I'm glad you like it. I was worried that it might fall a little flat. The editing was fun to try to work out. Figuring out which shot went best with which lines was very amusing.
