It would be a different thing to hold captive an entire national school system of grade schoolers and have them stand on the square holding signs they have no way of comprehending rather than have them stay in class and learn as normal.
The boundary with having children present at a rally started with that they were respected at the time of conception and allowed to live; furthermore, having them understand their community and the need to be actively participating in it isn't exploitation its education. Agree on the bias is in everything - slant at the point of purposely and actively supressing facts though is where people say "Enough is Enough" get their creative hats and shoes on and write their slogans on sign and go and protest.
I'd encourage you to try and create a video yourself sometime. You enjoy YouTube and view a lot of stuff, you've even created a "Channel". Put up your own video content and begin the journey of responsible creativity. Learn as you do.
excuse me for the foul, what im tryin to say all media is biased to some degree. but i doesnt seem like anyone on the republican side has given obama a chance, he's only been in power 3.5 months!
The reason for the immediate outcry against the current administration, in so short of time, is because during their short time in power, they have more than tripled the spending of Bush with an unrealistic debt. And they've gone back on the promises they made to get elected, such as cutting back on earmarks and cutting back on debt.
its also important everybody understand sacrifice and also how every action has a reaction weather its now or 50 yrs later. fox news and rush dont help the situation any by spinning info to their viewers. also these companies put profit before people.
Sacrifice? George Washington and men who fought alongside him and those who risked it all to defy the Queen and put forth our Constitution? Or do you merely toss around the word 'sacrifice' as a talking point?
As for actual journalists, focusing on but that one media outlet as biased reveals your own. Dan Rather was only a tip of confidence of a buddy-buddy network of back-patting supposed professionals who feel empowered to make the facts and not report them. Rush isn't a journalist.
im stating that we all have to make sacrifice to get what we want wether its time, money or blood. we may not live to see progress from our work. nor do i down play their roles in history. these outlets play the blame game all day. they find fault everyday with obama. they do spin info i.e. the homeland security report. i dont fully subscribe to any one channel for info bcuz they dont have all the answers i look at all of them then draw my own conclusion.
'Obama daily at fault' ...and there is a lot of fault to be found. Didn't hear anyone complaing about Bush's daily back biting, so why the sudden interest in Obama kid gloves treatment?
Having a free press that does its job of reporting facts is the only balance we peon individual citizen have that is a tangible and immediate - a sounding board - it isn't the only one though and that is why IMO this, YouTube, and other types of New Media are growing and the MSM are diminishing in viewership.
spending will increase each year because more people are born, more states and cities expand, people will just need more. here are 2 reasons the war and oil. alot of our money has left this country because of oil and this war is going to keep bleeding us dry. before bush we had a surplus but, since this war we keep going in debt. but how do u put an end to the war. if u pull out it what happened in veit nam will happen in iraq.
We have been using oil since British Petroleum and some Texans explored and then started pumping it out of then Persia/Iran. It revolutionized industry and affords us a quality of life we enjoy today.
Interesting links between Iran and the MidEast in general, oil, and US bad vibes all lead back to this period in the 1950's not our recent war. I'd encourage you to read Stephen Kinzer's "All the Shah's Men" regarding the Dulles (yeah same as the airport) brothers & Mossadeq.
understand there are more forces at work , i'm saying that these situations are adding to our troubles(more troops, weapons, supplies, etc.). also how the u.s. is perceived through out the world. more problems are going to require more money.
The obvious 'Elephant in the room' fact is that as time goes on more decisions add to old decisions and the width and breadth get more complex. As a business, I can't make a profit without spending and investing in my company first before clientelle can be served. You can be scared to succeed; you will be frozen in failure.
Risk is part of success but risk doesn't = guarantee. This is why it important for decisions to flow from the will of the people and not a cultish leader and demagogue.
That was my favorite picture too. Unforunately something is lost in the magic of YouTube conversion. But still its TimeLife (oops they didn't get bailed out) front page quality.
I appreciate all comments here but will reserve the ability to monitor discussion if someone decides to do an effective DOS attack via the comments. You can try but you will be banned so show some measure of couth and class. State your opinion breifly and let someone else talk.
I can't help thinking this is a a republican vs democrat thing, than it is an actual, "I care about spending," thing. I don't think these people cared when it was Bush who was doing the spending, but now that a democrat is doing it, all of a sudden they care. No offense, I don't know you personally, I don't know your intentions. I oppose wasteful spending too. But the fact that tea party protests are occurring now, instead of 4 years ago, I think, lessens their credibility.
well maybe if you open your mind up you'll see this for what it is - the protests are occurring not because the spending went up a little but because it has gone up 10 fold to where 1 trillion dollars has been spent in 6 months and is being accelerated without public feedback - no 5 day public viewing ...remember that was an Obama promise that has been broken already - people are afraid of a government growing out of control and not answering to the people whom it is supposed to - freedom
no offense taken, thanks for stating that - there is room for talk to earnestly hash out the why's? and explanations - the media isn't doing a good job of this so it falls to YouTube - I guess that's OK but I'm an amateur not a professional media type - I have opinions but I'm not a government scholar. Just a concerned American who senses our freedoms are being snuffed out in a hasty pace/rapid hurry. It may vanish via a con job of empty promises and nice sounding disingenuous rhetoric
Wrong. The people I was with feel very betrayed by Bush. Obama is an extension of Bush, but is a much accelerated version of many of the bad aspects of the Bush era.
Why would there have been bailouts 4 years ago? The stockmarket's only been going down for a little over a year and the worst decline didn't happen until 6 months ago. Until then nobody could have known just how bad it would get.
This a *cumulative* problem. It didn't all happen in one day.
I love the homemade signs. You can tell it's for real just by that.
When the dreadlocked-vegetarian crowd "protest" something (i.e. everything), they always mysteriously have the exact same sign. Hmmm.
Many people in my circle tell me "no politics" and that's it. I've been vocal about overspending for years to anybody that would listen. They are more interested now with the quadrupling of government spending in less than 90 days of a new administration, and the fact that states haven't a rainy day fund to fall back on during hard times...so now their taxes are going up faster, money is being printed and their horrified. First timers are getting their sea legs.
Keep at it guys maybe we can help make some change. If not this country will have no one but itself to blame. Mindless following of the media and little concern for the true state of affairs of our country. Thanks for the vid it helps to see there are like minded people out there.
that all fine and well but the political angle has little to bear on today's march the money spent does - I'd have liked the Iraqi's to pay for the work we did through selling their oil ...but then you would likely complain 'blood for oil' right?!
Monday morning quarterbacks are never a dying breed alas!
Starting a war in Iraq before we were finished with the first war in Afganistan, All that cost money! Where were these tea party people then? I don't deny that money is being spent on a bailout package, but it's for a better reason than simply starting a war with the wrong country. Money is still being spent in Iraq & afganistan, but it's hopefully to bring things to a close, what other choice is there? Really, were were the people protesting the wasteful spending before.
Wars, while not a good thing, are necessary to protect the country. If UN resolutions don't have teeth they will be ignored.
The spending throughout the bush admin and now are not for the security of the nation, they are simply more and larger government projects and programs. That is what these tea parties are about, less spending and smaller government.
Many of the Tea Party supporters are strong Ron Paul supporters. Ron Paul has always been against American foreign interventions. "Where were those people then" does what for anyone? All these people are hypocrites? What are you saying, because I don't see your point.
Haven't mentioned Senator Paul anywhere and I'd don't think the video even has a single sign with his name mentioned. I'm personally not a supporter of Ron Paul - I do like the idea of a Fair Tax though. As for the crowd's opinions, how would I know? You can infer from the video there is no Ron Paul interest.
If you are determined to hold onto doubt, there isn't anything I as a stranger will say to dissuage you.
Thanks for looking at the video. What did you think of it artistically?
The video was very good. SHowing the numbers is good. Take note feds.
My point to mundo is that the stereotype of a tea bag protester is silly. This is a big tent with many Ron Paul anti-war types. This is not CNN soundbite nonsense. You bring your brains to this or the shills and politicians will eat you alive by giving you talking points like trying to kill the tea party thing by making it a Bush supporter clique. Mundo was using that card.
...I am not familiar with what is being planned as generally I'm working quite a lot. If Ted Nugent does play - that would rock - he's an American that gets it and truly exercises his freedom of expression.
i was there at the tea party. Call me a hippy, but i no what a hippy is. im 14 and standing up for what i belive in. your video was inspiring thank you. hope to see you tomrow =) thanks again
Percentage wise I think your wish has already been more than covered.
What needs done is to compel policians and hold their feet to the fire of fair standards. Stop the whimsical junkets and popularity tours. The millions of dollars it costs every time O Fource flies should be reserved for legitimate state purpupses ...not hand shaking photo opps IMO. Everyone residing in positions of leadership should exercise wisdon. Riding a $100 per direction train is not an everyday man solution.
I for one was positively motivated by Glenn Beck, a TV personality. So much so that I succeeded in getting on the news that day at the Monterey Anti Tax Tea Party. I thank everyone who can rally the supporters of the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence....no matter who they are, and I always respected Ron Paul and believe he had many important issues right. We should ALL appreciate every bit of help we can get. Will look into HR 1207.
Why do I get the feeling that these rallies will soon be hijacked by the far right to try to urge the government to bring America back to it's "moral roots" instead of bring an end to the Fed, IRS and big gov?
your an idiot. Hijacked is why this country is in a massive uproar.....and hey, this is a moral country.....and by the way, watch what happens when government GETS OFF OUR BACKS......but nooo......you want a powerful government, and a weak people.....move to China or Russia....cuz it ain't gona happen here chump.
Well, were do you stand on the war on drugs, banning gay marriage, god in schools, building a huge wall on the boarder with lots of tax money that won't do shit and all the other crap the moral right want the government to force down people's throats? Fuck your morals and let people be free to decide for themselves how they what to live. Same goes for the left with all there no ones responsible for there own actions bullshit.
and no I don't want a powerful gov. The GOP already gave us that with things like the Patriot Act and pointless wars over seas. The dems have just taken over control of it and will make it ever bigger.
RE: Patriot Act, important ONLY during a time of war as an alternative to internment camps. What is your opinion of a better solution given the circumstances?
RE: WALL - how would you close the border?
RE: Drugs - you can measure alcohol in the blood, how can we measure drugs?
RE: Gays are people, with deviant behavior.
RE: God in School - 10 commandments are good rules to follow.
RE: GOP/DEMS both to blame.
Thanks, little scoot, got on TV...had a great time.
I just watched "P&T Bullshit War on Drugs (1/3)" I think it sums up the issue of how we deal with drugs here in the us nicely. As a matter of fact I think most the shows they did were right on the money about big gov. Yes, I'm a Libertarian but will probably be an anarchist by the end of the week LOL.
moral country - some yes - but in general the country is becoming severely amoral, agnostic, snobbish, and lacking and strong character and evident in the sparsity of admirable leadership. Its sad (and great for her) that a nobody women from Alaska has had to outshine every other contender.
Well you can nay say and hold that half empty glass or get up and move forward and participate full heartedly.
We had Tories undermining us before with that foundational eras erudite class but we still completed a Revolution albeit by the barest margin of persistence and by embracing American tenacity and ingenuity. Get up and get out and get involved. The future is today.
My apologies yammyspeed13, I got angry before I finished reading your post. Had I kept my cool, I would have realized I was addressing either a Libertarian or anarchist.....my post reflected my angst with big gov authoritarians.
Nice that ya all could wait until we were $11T in debt to notice there was a problem...so glad you've had your heads in the sand the last 8 years while the debt exploded...maybe next year, you can protest the USA pulling out of Vietnam
I know how you feel..sometimes I takes a lot to get folks riled up.....especially those who have little or no time or energy after work and family......Some, including myself have been screaming for years about overspending....but the last thing I want to do is slap them in the face now that they are on board. They may be slow, but I think they are waking up now.
In May 2009 Obama plans to speak publicly about immigration reform, to begin discussing possible legislation for as early as this fall. His plan is to make legal status possible for an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants. Obama wants illegals to keep their jobs, when millions of jobless Americans could have their jobs. Face it people, Obama is not a president for the American people. Change? That's all you will have in your pockets when Obama gets through with you.

'No One Will Listen' off a rare demo I got from the artist years ago.
This is an amazing story on its own. This song is now on the #1 Billboard album by Kelly Clarkson - totally unknown by me until after the fact. The original composer and performer is more heartfelt and IMO has the better version. See the end of the video for specific information in the credits.
AWESOME - Ordinary law abiding citizens peacefully exercising their right to free speech. Tea Partys all over the US on April 15 will also be ignored by the liberal media. But we are out there and the movement is growing..encourage every one you know to participate. It's "We the People" and if those elected betray us, get them out of Washington.
Thank you for doing so much. My mom really thought it was great to see the pictures of you and others who dressed up the part. The message is getting out and thanks in part to you. :)
The families aspect surprised me as I'd never been to a rally I'd no idea what the crowd's emotion and nature would be. It was a strangely fun crowd that I think bonded from the events of that afternoon. ...and on April 15'th we are marching locally to City Hall to deliver the petition passed around and signed that afternoon.
Thanks very much for the positive feedback. Let's keep it going and invite your friends to look at this video.
I was really pissed how our so called Media covered this event.!9,12,5,9 they all falled us and I am glad they got ran off the square.LETS DO IT AGAIN APRIL 15 SEE YOU THERE
Its such a critical idea that the story is available to see for those who want to know what the background of the 'reported story" is as well as those unaware of 'the news' but would be encouraged to join after seeing the faces of the crowd. Totally breaks the stereotype and pre-conceptions that play on the worst fears. Disinformation is so important.when in this battle of impressions and hype.

And they've gone back on the promises they made to get elected, such as cutting back on earmarks and cutting back on debt.

its also important everybody understand sacrifice and also how every action has a reaction weather its now or 50 yrs later. fox news and rush dont help the situation any by spinning info to their viewers. also these companies put profit before people.
foripu 2 years ago
BlackSailfin 2 years ago
im stating that we all have to make sacrifice to get what we want wether its time, money or blood. we may not live to see progress from our work. nor do i down play their roles in history. these outlets play the blame game all day. they find fault everyday with obama. they do spin info i.e. the homeland security report. i dont fully subscribe to any one channel for info bcuz they dont have all the answers i look at all of them then draw my own conclusion.

'Obama daily at fault' ...and there is a lot of fault to be found. Didn't hear anyone complaing about Bush's daily back biting, so why the sudden interest in Obama kid gloves treatment?
Having a free press that does its job of reporting facts is the only balance we peon individual citizen have that is a tangible and immediate - a sounding board - it isn't the only one though and that is why IMO this, YouTube, and other types of New Media are growing and the MSM are diminishing in viewership.

spending will increase each year because more people are born, more states and cities expand, people will just need more. here are 2 reasons the war and oil. alot of our money has left this country because of oil and this war is going to keep bleeding us dry. before bush we had a surplus but, since this war we keep going in debt. but how do u put an end to the war. if u pull out it what happened in veit nam will happen in iraq.
foripu 2 years ago
We have been using oil since British Petroleum and some Texans explored and then started pumping it out of then Persia/Iran. It revolutionized industry and affords us a quality of life we enjoy today.
Interesting links between Iran and the MidEast in general, oil, and US bad vibes all lead back to this period in the 1950's not our recent war. I'd encourage you to read Stephen Kinzer's "All the Shah's Men" regarding the Dulles (yeah same as the airport) brothers & Mossadeq.

understand there are more forces at work , i'm saying that these situations are adding to our troubles(more troops, weapons, supplies, etc.). also how the u.s. is perceived through out the world. more problems are going to require more money.
foripu 2 years ago
The obvious 'Elephant in the room' fact is that as time goes on more decisions add to old decisions and the width and breadth get more complex. As a business, I can't make a profit without spending and investing in my company first before clientelle can be served. You can be scared to succeed; you will be frozen in failure.
Risk is part of success but risk doesn't = guarantee. This is why it important for decisions to flow from the will of the people and not a cultish leader and demagogue.

Great video. Loved the kids holding signs. "I'm 7 years old and already in debt" LOL
10 FOLD increase in spending in less than 100 days in office and people are still whining about Bush's spending.
I don't understand that one!

TMundo 2 years ago
well maybe if you open your mind up you'll see this for what it is - the protests are occurring not because the spending went up a little but because it has gone up 10 fold to where 1 trillion dollars has been spent in 6 months and is being accelerated without public feedback - no 5 day public viewing ...remember that was an Obama promise that has been broken already - people are afraid of a government growing out of control and not answering to the people whom it is supposed to - freedom
BlackSailfin 2 years ago
no offense taken, thanks for stating that - there is room for talk to earnestly hash out the why's? and explanations - the media isn't doing a good job of this so it falls to YouTube - I guess that's OK but I'm an amateur not a professional media type - I have opinions but I'm not a government scholar. Just a concerned American who senses our freedoms are being snuffed out in a hasty pace/rapid hurry. It may vanish via a con job of empty promises and nice sounding disingenuous rhetoric
BlackSailfin 2 years ago
Wrong. The people I was with feel very betrayed by Bush. Obama is an extension of Bush, but is a much accelerated version of many of the bad aspects of the Bush era.
prahudka 2 years ago
Why would there have been bailouts 4 years ago? The stockmarket's only been going down for a little over a year and the worst decline didn't happen until 6 months ago. Until then nobody could have known just how bad it would get.
This a *cumulative* problem. It didn't all happen in one day.
I love the homemade signs. You can tell it's for real just by that.
When the dreadlocked-vegetarian crowd "protest" something (i.e. everything), they always mysteriously have the exact same sign. Hmmm.
shockadelicaustralia 2 years ago
Many people in my circle tell me "no politics" and that's it. I've been vocal about overspending for years to anybody that would listen. They are more interested now with the quadrupling of government spending in less than 90 days of a new administration, and the fact that states haven't a rainy day fund to fall back on during hard times...so now their taxes are going up faster, money is being printed and their horrified. First timers are getting their sea legs.
Coral5353 2 years ago
Keep at it guys maybe we can help make some change. If not this country will have no one but itself to blame. Mindless following of the media and little concern for the true state of affairs of our country. Thanks for the vid it helps to see there are like minded people out there.

that all fine and well but the political angle has little to bear on today's march the money spent does - I'd have liked the Iraqi's to pay for the work we did through selling their oil ...but then you would likely complain 'blood for oil' right?!
Monday morning quarterbacks are never a dying breed alas!
BlackSailfin 2 years ago
Starting a war in Iraq before we were finished with the first war in Afganistan, All that cost money! Where were these tea party people then? I don't deny that money is being spent on a bailout package, but it's for a better reason than simply starting a war with the wrong country. Money is still being spent in Iraq & afganistan, but it's hopefully to bring things to a close, what other choice is there? Really, were were the people protesting the wasteful spending before.
TMundo 2 years ago 2
Wars, while not a good thing, are necessary to protect the country. If UN resolutions don't have teeth they will be ignored.
The spending throughout the bush admin and now are not for the security of the nation, they are simply more and larger government projects and programs. That is what these tea parties are about, less spending and smaller government.
jonbell78 2 years ago
Many of the Tea Party supporters are strong Ron Paul supporters. Ron Paul has always been against American foreign interventions. "Where were those people then" does what for anyone? All these people are hypocrites? What are you saying, because I don't see your point.
prahudka 2 years ago
Haven't mentioned Senator Paul anywhere and I'd don't think the video even has a single sign with his name mentioned. I'm personally not a supporter of Ron Paul - I do like the idea of a Fair Tax though. As for the crowd's opinions, how would I know? You can infer from the video there is no Ron Paul interest.
If you are determined to hold onto doubt, there isn't anything I as a stranger will say to dissuage you.
Thanks for looking at the video. What did you think of it artistically?
BlackSailfin 2 years ago
The video was very good. SHowing the numbers is good. Take note feds.
My point to mundo is that the stereotype of a tea bag protester is silly. This is a big tent with many Ron Paul anti-war types. This is not CNN soundbite nonsense. You bring your brains to this or the shills and politicians will eat you alive by giving you talking points like trying to kill the tea party thing by making it a Bush supporter clique. Mundo was using that card.

I just watched "P&T Bullshit War on Drugs (1/3)" I think it sums up the issue of how we deal with drugs here in the us nicely. moral country - some yes - but in general the country is becoming severely amoral, agnostic, snobbish, and lacking and strong character and evident in the sparsity of admirable leadership. Its sad (and great for her) that a nobody women from Alaska has had to outshine every other contender.
