Jeezus, there must have been at least 3 contradictions in Rogan's interview. Comedy is subjective and I love Bill Hicks, but I have never laughed at a single thing Joe has ever said. To me he'll always be that Fear Factor guy or that bad UFC announcer.

Bill hicks' stuff was like dark poetry but it wasn't poetry. basically he is saying that its poetry that send a humorous message WHICH IS ALOT HARDER THAN STRAIGHT POETRY WHICH HE SAYS IS OVERRATED.

When he said it was stupid he likely meant that it was stupid in the amount of credit kaufman got and didnt deserve. but corrected himself by saying that THE MOVIE was good. that could mean alot of things reagarding the production quality and so on. not kaufman.

Bombing and not caring you bombed is what I can respect the most about a stand up comic, If I bombed my first night on stage I don't think I could ever do it again. I don't have that thick skin, that not-give-a-fuck attitude. Hicks had a passion for stand up and just because Nick's Comedy House in Boston didn't find him funny it wasn't going to stop him from doing what he loved. (btw I don't have point)

As a comic and admirer of Bill Hicks, the fact is that he still lives through his recordings, his tv appearances and you tube is what matters. Leary can do all the dumbed down ripped-off-from-Hicks material all he wants but the material is here, the laughs are here, the ideas are still around. That's what matters.
