  • Ray´ smile looks just like The Joker´s

  • That guitar lick makes me think about 'Honky Tonk Woman' ... Both great bands but i'll always prefer the kinks.

  • IF I KNOW RAY DAVIES, HE MIGHT JUST TELL YOU THE CURE FOR ACUTE SCHIZOPHRENIA DISEASE IS TO HAVE A CUPPA TEA.

  • Lovely. Now I'm going to listen to Fields of The Nephilim.

  • Definitely the Whistle Test...

  • There isn't one "talent" out there today worthy enough to carry these guys' jockstraps, let alone qualified to tune their instruments.

    Ray and Dave forever!

  • @70sMusicFanatic Not sure you would ever catch an englishmen in underwear that leaves your arse hanging out ;)

  • WHERE DOES HE GET ALL THIS STUFF FROM, SOME ONE TELL HIM TO GET A PASSPORT AND GO TRAVELLING,AND NOT USE SOME WORDS LIKE THAT OR IDEAS OF WHATEVER HAS TO BE DONE TO LIVE;-)

WHEN THEY HAVE YOU THEY HAVE YOU NOT MATTER WHAT OR THE WHO IT IS.

  • Wow, that sounded amazing even without the wind instruments.

  • @DesignsThatMatter Excellent observation about this tune being recorded here without the horn section...I actually like it a bit better--no offense to the brass section, but I love Dave's leads filling in, and this "stripped done" version of what must be a very rare verson of thos awesome tune!

  • i am so jealous....thanks for sharing

  • schiziophenia as i would say is your hear and there but there is nowhere and you certainly aint here with me or i would tell you you got schizophernia

  • Nice vid.

Ray is really singing. The band is pretending. Great historical piece.

  • NiceOne White rose! A great vid . Thanks

  • Just so damn fantastic.

  • You're a queen of Kinks videos here. x

  • This was great.

I wonder why there's never been a decent Kinks concert dvd for sale.. Or does somebody know better?

  • One for the Road is their only DVD. The Kinks may have trouble with rights. I don't know, but I wish they'd have a DVD like Zeppelin; two discs that run for 6 hours!

  • Ray Davies is a certified genius. This is the first time I've heard this. Is it me or was he channeling Bob Dylan?

  • Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd

  • I met Ray davies after a concert in Hamburg. I asked him which album he likes most of The Kinks. He answered "Always the new one" with a smile and said "and Muswell Hillbillies"

  • Ray makes me melt. wow

  • my Dr. Dave Davies: wrote this song JUST for ME!!!...LOL

  • where's dave??

  • At the back, with the guitar and the beard

  • just awesome...best album from one of the best bands there has ever been

  • This is probably their best period with Musswell Hillbillies... excellent stuff

  • That is tight, what a gift, thank you

  • just wondering why the embedding is disabled whiterose?

  • I would love to own this concert. Such amazing quality. Mental note: Hunt & Purchase!

  • My wife got ill with Paranoia in 1972 so

this song was very exiting for me at this

    time

  • Amen!

  • I wish I knew these guys back then........they are soooooooo awesommmmmmmmm

God bring The Kinks back in 2009!!!!!!!!

  • Is there any known video of Black Messiah live??? Does anyone know?

  • Not of a Kinks performance of it that I can see.

  • My God, this is of an excellent quality! Where did you get it?

  • My mother suffered from acute schizofrenia & it made my life a living hell at times. When I first heard this song, it cheered me up the way they made it seem so whimsical. The Kinks at their creative best were as good as the Beatles and the Stones at their creative best. Only difference is that radio didn't give them their due.

  • My mom too has schizophrenia and I found that this song definetly in a comical way captured the disease pretty well, atleast in my moms case.

  • The best, at their best. Sometimes it seems as if the Kinks have provided the soundtrack to my life. Thank you for the amazing posts.
