Papervision looks cool. I've just never wanted to invest the time in learning it. For the commercial products I produce I just don't want to take a chance on it. I'd rather wait for Adobe to develop their own 3D api for the Flash Player. That way I'll have some kind of warranty.
On a different topic..you mentioned that you did data access in the comments below..is there a way that you can show me how to access either an MS Access Dbase or SQL server using ASP server tech w/o xml?
Hi great video..I have a couple of questions..first with papervision. I just followed the video (Aug 31) and when i look at the classes that are exported i don't have a com class..i have only two folders...nochump and org..I am having trouble setting this up..do i just drag in these two folders into my project?
Finally a decent tutorial to follow using Flex. I've been head over heels, migrating from website to website trying to figure out what I was doing wrong in the initial project setup. I didn't realize that you can copy and paste the papervision3d files directly into Flex.
Don't think we are going in your direction. We do education which requires chatrooms, live audio/video, database interaction etc... See our newest video on Papervision3D Second Life Nav system ... we are basically creating a Second Life Papervision3D clone which we call Paper Life - sorry to disappoint you ... hire a good graphic designer ... I have four of them.
Not disappointed at all mike! U guys have created some very useful tutorials. Over the Rhine helped me a lot, particularly in learning about states (how to structure a website in flex). Flex is not as easy as flash to get in to. Flex is an interesting tool with great potential. Though it is early stages for me and this tool it is clear that flex offers much in terms of synthesising all these wonderful technologies and singularity in terms of deployment. The web 2.0 prophecy is on D!
Thank you mike. I was looking for much more complex stuff though. I am currently building a flex/flash 3d site and am wanting to compete with the likes of Mr doob and alike.
This tutorial would have come in very useful when i first started using flex 3. Mike/Amanda hunny SHOW ME THE MONEY :)
good job, i did mention this to mike (about creating a papervision tutorial) and you guys came up with some goodies. I wonder which version you gonna use, hope its 2, and what about effects.
We are using Great White -(version PV2 and will continue to update to the newest versions in the future as they are released) - our first goal (besides all the flashy stuff) is to script an object builder based on primitives like the one you find in second life.
We are very much engaged in the process. Amanda is super smart and I am so glad to have her on the project. Thanks for watching - Best Regards, Mike
this tutorial should be named, "HOW TO DOWNLOAD THINGS FROM GOOGLE" ¬¬
