GEORGE PEPPARD - "Doctor Peppard, I Presume"

He was 'playing a role'. The character was strong and forthright. Hard-headed, and dedicated as a neurosurgeon. In George's personal life at the time? He was tired and exhausted, having nearly died from peritonitis. He swallowed a toothpick, and had it surgically removed, through his intestine. In the pilot of this show, you can see his abdominal scar. Self-admittedly out-of-shape for this role, he didn't want to continue doing the series, so he quit. He then got in shape & did Sam Sheppard,,,

Wow! Your videos are totally amazing! I've seen all eight of them! You capture George Peppard in a way that is magical! It's as if you have brought him back to life for us fans! I love it! Thanks for doing this one. I didn't think I'd ever see George Peppard in Doctors Hospital ever. It's so hard to find! That man is so sexy in SCRUBS! I think I need a doctor (him) after watching this one!

Chosen to play Blake Carrington in Dynasty, filming most of the pilot;didn't appreciate being given 'acting notes' by the shows' producers, declaring they'd better off with another actor who would play it the way they wanted. That was George. Outspoken. True to himself always. Replaced as a result by John Forsythe, not minding; he resigned before being fired from the show. Pilot was scrapped; refilmed with Forsythe.
