  • Temple of doom is good, the original trilogy is really good.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is not.

I rented it and fell asleep about 15 minutes in.

  • really? temple of doom was one of my fave indiana films, i loved the little chinese kid, he was so cute lol, and it was really funny.

  • KOTCS was a big mistake, it will be forgotten in a couple of years. TOD was good, not the best of the trilogy but i say, when people think of Indiana Jones, do they think of a guy going through Germany with a tie and his father in a sidecar (Last Crusade), or a guy in the jungle having to deal with thuggies and snakes (Temple of Doom)??? We wouldn't think of indy as the character he is now without TOD. Then again, Last Crudade was enormously better than KOTCS.

  • this film was sooo boring

  • temple of doom was funny

  • Great review...I'm tired of all of these people whining about cgi. Yes the tarzan scene was silly at best but who cares. That made up like 5 mins of the movie. The rest of it was great. People are expecting way to much from this film.

  • Very fair review!

Admittedly, I don't really agree about what you said about TOD. But each to their own eh.

It's good to see someone having something good to say about the movie haha!

I think everyone's expectations of the movie were so high that it was bound to be a disappointment for a lot of people.

Yeah it wasn't as good as the previous films. But it was NEVER going to be accepted that way.

Personally i enjoyed it. It's good to see Indy back in action :)

  • TOD is a great film, i like it very much, I think that the first three are 5 starsm to Crystal Skull i give a three stars, there were no Indy moment in this one, all the action was on his "son" and other bugs (ants), the skull looked like a toy, etc, etc. I hate u Lucas, for make me mad again as with Star Wars "prequell"

  • 4 stars , better than temple of doom?are you out of your mind?

I watched it yesterday and am more than dissapointed,

I really loved the previous installments just as i liked the previous installments of starwars.

everyone talks about the great steven spielberg and the great storyteller george lucas, but to be quite frank i just hope they quite, next time they make a new jaws whom due to a nuclear accident doesn't need the ocean to survive and becomes twice as big and has wings

  • hahaha good one! I personally think that Lucas & Spielberg were abducted by aliens. I mean seriously, WHAT THE HELL happened to them? They bring us all these great movies and then turn the sequels and prequels into shit.

  • You lost all credibilty by saying KOTCS is better than TOD. TOD is the perfect adventure movie, and a different entry in the series while the other 3 are clones. Raiders isn't immortal Its good, really good. Hell, its great. But immortal? It was a hellva start for a successful series that shits on the Mummy, LOTR, and Matrix films. But Temple gave us a superior sequel(prequel if you believe that 1935 bullshit) showing us what Indy is all about. After TOD the movies, while classic, became cheese.

  • Thanks for the comment.

I'm sad to see that you dismiss us so quickly. (Laughs).

TOD is great, but it's largely regarded as the worst of the three. Like others feel that the dark tone of the film took away from the fun, B-Movie vibe from 'Raiders'. And that when inside the temple dealing with the Chakra Stones, it was too slow (pacing). And we feel "Raiders" was immortal because it was the most cohesive/conceived narrative and Marion was the best leading lady. But then again TOD had Shorty. ;)

  • Temple of Doom wasn't slow pacing at all in terms of comedy and adventure the beginning of the film is a half hour action epic while the middle of the film estimated around 45 mins is adventure in the jungles with some comedy added, and when they arrive at the palace they are treated to an hystarical dinner and some funny jokes between indy and willie and finnaly the last 35 mins goes on with slam-bang action overall, all the films are great but TOD had the best action.

  • hahaha Shorty is always the one aspect of TOD that keeps people from bashing it to hard.

"HEY LADY YOU CALL HIM DR. JONES!" - HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAA

  • @SEiStudios I totally agree with GameOVERA.

Tod is mutch better then Kotcs

    My personal opinion ofcourse ;)

  • TOD is worse than Crystal Skull? You aint no Indiana Jones fan my friend. Consider that Indiana Jones was much younger and brought out a real superhero. In Indy 4, if you even consider it a real part of the franchise, shows an old man battling old age.Temple of Doom is perhaps even better than Raiders in my opinion. KOTCS is crap. The only way KOTCS couldve been better is if Shia never entered the film and if his son actually had a real resemblance toward him. Anthony Ingruber comes to mind!!!

  • @SEiStudios GREAT REVIEW!!! Do you like the SW prequels????? Also I did love Doom more because the slow pace made the 30 minute action ending awesome, but also the dark athomosphere was so intense, so did you also like the prequels???

  • i wasnt a big fan of the new film. WAY too much CG used, which took away from the traditional indy action scenes that were much more gritty and believable. shia swinging from the vines with the monkeys, the ants, and the whole alien premise of the movie made it way too riduclous and over-the-top. the action scenes were fun and enjoyable but i thought the movie fell short of expectations.

i did like the sand pit snake scene though.

  • I didn't think the CGI was the problem. Not the use of it. It's stuff like actually making the monkey swinging part... the score not having memorable music... the plot/pacing being off... stuff like that more than the more shallow observation of "OMG CGI THAT MADE IT SUX SO BAD." No, it was deeper and more important issues that plagued this film. It was good but it could've been great had those issues been ironed out.

  • for instance indy going inside of refrigerator and surviving an atomic bomb...

  • Thanks for this fair review; a lot of fans have been bashing this as if it were Phantom Menace all over again. I'm seeing it tomorrow night and I hope my dad likes it; he loved the previous films.

As for Temple of Doom, I love the scene with the monkey brains :P
