I find that this was all very spectacular, and the positive change is Matt is clearly evident. Yet I cannot help but feel that were I the one who exited that flight simulator at the end, I would have been devastated and even enraged to find that what I thought was an act of heroism was nothing more than a prearranged fabrication. Another example of why Derren is so precise in his screening process. I would no doubt have never been chosen.

I love this series but don't they worry about a possible underlying heart condition in one of these contestants? A major scare like that can kill someone with an undiagnosed medical/cardiac condition.

@ritter89 i'm sure they take precautions with a show of this magnitude, they were in contact with his family and friends so i'm sure they knew his medical history as well as they could even give him a medical exam when he applied for the game show.

I really liked that. And those simulators are incredibly realistic feeling and looking. When I worked for NWA a few of us won a tour of the simulators and a chance to land a 747-200. Having a pilot in the Captain's chair and telling you exactly what to do makes it really easy. Granted, when I landed it was a hard landing, and you could feel it, but I landed it. I was good at stopping the plane (foot pedals) on the runway, though.

The psychology is to let this guy realize that he can do great things and that it the root. the idea is to let the person help himself through real life experience which cannot be taken from a book. :)
