If you have to programs that control sounds running together that's probably it 1 sound cancels out another . Hope this helps.

I have a 16 gb 2nd Generation touch and it's one that they sent me to replace the first iPod I purchased because there were problems with it too. I have absolutely no sound. It's very frustrating, I'm thinking about just getting a Zune. Apple sucks anyway.

It might be that the winterboard or the theme that you have is effecting that. Some of them do effect weather or not they click. Someone had one where they clicked it and it made a fart sound and when it slid it would fart for a long time. It was halarious!

dude i discovered a fix

1 download ifile from cydia

2 go yo system/library/LaunchDaemons

3 move or delete the com.apple.accessoryd.plst

DONE!!

if u use your ipod on an external speaker (like i home) then move the file back so your ipod recognizes the speaker)

if you do not use any external speakers, you can just delete the file

Found a FIX!:

1) plug in headphones in your ipod

2) Turn off ipod and keep headphones in

3) Turn on ipod with headphones in

4) unlock your ipod and take out the headphones

5) test sound and you're done!

and a little tip: un jailbreak your ipod, or you wont be able to take your ipod to apple and get it fixed :)

hey kid, it happen to me today, with no clicking sound, so sound on the music, it would only work with the head phones or my boom box. but i fixed it by simply pluggin it to itunes, after a syn, it was working fine, with the cliking sound too. try to get the latest version for your ipod touch also.

omg never do this do not jail break it because my ipod touch lost its volume from jailbreaking it! trust me. you will need to call apple and arrange a replacement hope that helps :) x

you can get a virus from a song that you didnt get from itunes or its because of that winterthing ive heard about it has a lot of viruses and glitches

hold down both top and bottom buttons to turn it off,then just turn it back on and it should be fixed.Thats what I did to fix it.

(In other words...Just restart it)

i searched volume sound problem and i htouhgt u had the same thing i had. Mine wen ur listening to music or watching a vid. the little bar that raises and lowers the volume. no matter how much u move it it goes bac to the same place and it keep happening

Mine just started doing the same thing right after the most recent Itunes update was installed. Apparently Apple is to blame for this bug. Every time you turn around they have another damned update for Itunes. This totally sucks!!!

I thought it was Settings > General > Sounds. no? Maybe some app disabled the clickies.

For your other app I guess it's in some settings but I have no idea, maybe those small brown arrows on the sides of the app's screen lead to prefs?
