  • i know! i know! maybe they are one of those fancy breeds, a "pihuahua" half pit half chihuahua. AHAHAHAHA

  • Seriously, pitbulls aren't that bad.

  • @RectangularBird Actually, no dog is that bad, it is all in how you raise them. I have a full blooded red nose pit bull who is one of the sweetest dogs you could ever ask for. They are territorial, but yet know who their family is and will do anything to protect them. My dog "Bud-E" even protects my kids, my mom, her husband, and myself at home yet in public will let anyone pet him and is loving. I also have a pit bull and dalmation mix and she loves everyone too! Its how you raise the dog!

  • @sslc4kids Yes, I know..

  • very funny! Chi's will do that.

  • them not Chi they are pits

  • pits? I hope you arnt serious.

  • yes that what its is I had one of them dogs kill my rottie and broke both of his legs when I get my hands on that little bastard Im going to break his little skinny legs

  • If you think the dogs in this video are pits you are completely stupid. Especially since the guy who made the video said they are chi's and not pits. And anyone with eyes can tell that they look nothing like pits.

  • well if your think a chi's was the dog that kill my rottie then you are completely stupid

  • I don't know what killed your rottie...but I sure as hell know the dogs in this video arn't pits..

  • well that dude must have lie to me because he told me his dog was a pitbull and Im sure its the dog in the video and Im no fool I know a chi's cant kill a rottie so you can take you option to someone else and Im going to kill that pit yep that little skinny leg runt

  • If a pit killed your rottie..it sure as hell isnt either of the dogs in this video. The dogs in the video are chi's..Not pits. Thats not just my opinion..but a trained animal control officers opinion. And its not very bright of you to openly talk about a dog you are going to "kill". You are opening yourself up to litigation and criminal charges that way if something happens to the dog.

  • as a matter of fact it was the dog in this video and ill catch him some day

  • then a chihuahua killed your rottie...thats difficult to believe.

  • you know why thats difficult to believe because that dog isnt a chihuahua come on man wake up cant you see how scare that dude is on this video

  • oh yea..he's totally shaking in his tactical boots...killer chihuahuas on the loose. They go straight for the jugular.

  • thats right but dont forget if you got a large dog make sure you keep him away from that short skinny leggit pit or else you can kiss your dog goodbye

  • hahaha, what the hell are you smoking, TheMic? those are most definitely chihuahuas. trust me.

  • I dont know if he was mix or not but if the dog on this video look mix then what can I say and I dont joke or smoke I know what I saw buy only if you were there and saw it all because it sure wasnt a fight not lasting 10 mins

  • are you watching the same video that the rest of us are watching?

  • if you all is watching a video about some dog catcher trying to catch a dog then yes were on the same page

  • Just on Leno...

You guys have a tough job, this is one of the funny parts. But most of the time they are very sad situations of animal abuse. You guys don't get the credit you deserve.

  • I'm on the west coast so I haven't seen it on The Tonight Show yet, in fact, I only found out today they were actually going to use it, even though I've been in contact with them for about a month.

  • Pretty cool that your video was on Leno. Congrtulations!

  • omg, thats 2 funny! just like in the cartoons...

  • Are you guys part of law enforcement or your own agency. We have also adopted the use of dash cams in our units very helpfull in courts

  • Send me a message via YouTube or via my e-mail address visible as a watermark in the videos, I don't post a lot of personal or work related info here.

  • If a net does not work do you guys set tru traps or give up

  • Depends, I would say well over 50% of the Chihuahua's we go after get away, they know their neighborhoods and go under fences and through gates and such. We have set traps in the past, but more often then not we'll get about 2 to 4 officers out at once to try to get them, especially if they're a constant traffic hazard.

  • I reccomend a snapy snare

  • I've messed around with them at trade shows, but never bought one, it's something our department doesn't use. Normally if we can't catch small dogs with treats and a leash, we just catch them with a net, if we can get them somewhat cornered.

  • I love my snappy snare. Open it up, lay it flat on the ground, put the treats on the ground in the center of the loop. Dog puts his nose to the ground to get the treats, one quick wrist motion and wham! you got him. I've gotten super skittish dogs that way that were out in the open and never would have stood still long enough for me to get on a catchpole. I use the catchpole too, but the snare works great for certain situations.

  • I actually ordered two Snappy Snares for testing purposes for our department after I posed my earlier reply a month ago. Once they came in I took one of course, the other was assigned to another officer. We've had them a few weeks now and wouldn't you know it, neither of us have had the chance to use them, which I guess all in all is a good thing...

  • @loookapa animal control are terrorists. Their only mission is to kill and abuse, that's what they loving doing. There should be a law passed to euthanize animal control workers since euthanize is their life.

  • @PanzerBlitz43 What a misguided comment. Out of control animals can be more of a "terrorist" than an animal control officer could ever be. Ever had a stray dog invade your backyard? Someone has to protect people from roaming, unpredictable animals. Aim your rage at the people who breed pets irresponsibly and the the people who let their animals roam.

  • @tackcatta humans are far too overpopulated and a huge percent of them are sadists which is why they create animal "control" so they can enjoy their sadism. I don't give a crap if ten stray dog were in my backyard I would feed them and tell animal control criminals to piss off. I encourage anybody i talk to about it to never call animal control for any reason and hide all animals from them. Animals have more rights to this earth anyway than those kind of people who will destroy it

  • Apparently you missed the "in general" part?

"unfortunately as far as animal control in general ... hate them"

  • So "in general" you hate me even though you never met me? What about ACO's "in general" do you hate? The fact they are the ones that have to deal with sick, dying and neglected dogs? Because they are the ones that have to go into a yard to get a vicious dog after it has just mauled and killed a child. Try being the only one in the yard with a 200 pound Mastiff after it killed a human. Is that why you hate them? Or is it the fact we told you to keep your dog on a leash?

  • Ran out of room so had to start again.... We have a job to do. Just as chefs have a job to do. If a chef cooks you something you can't eat because it tastes horrible, F*ck chefs right? Smurfyhandy, you are wrong to hate animal control because you have had a bad experience. You need to resolve the problem with your ACO. Video tape the neighbors letting the dog loose, file charges with PD, and if the ACO is still harassing you even with all the evidence, talk to his Sgt.

  • Ok, there is a for sale sign, so? Someone selling their house..whoopy..Looks to me like he was coaxing the dogs off the property with the treats..Left the treats there to go and get a net then chases after the dogs, onto the property and then it goes blank..hmm..I bet those dogs were not securely put back onto the property but secured in the truck and the owners fined.. Sometimes dogs get out..

  • I didn't post the whole video, but it is available that shows me driving up from about three blocks away. Guess what. When I arrive at the dead end, one dog is already in the street. The "for sale" sign is important because the people were moving and left the dogs there, unattended they got out, and were in fact reconfined to the property by me. Our shelter is always full, I don't want to take anyone's dog I don't have too.

  • What's with all the haterade? Mommadog 1..if the dogs owners weren't there, and there was no obvious place to secure them, where pray tell should he have put them???? Yes, let's leave them running around on an uncontained yard! Man alive...yes, dogs do get out, but no need to attack the guy. He's doing his job.

  • I love it... Thank You...

  • somehow mysteriously he continued to get offleash ... no broken or chewed collar, no broken or chewed cable, no broken clasp on the cable and he wasn't let loose by the family ... hmmm little strange don't you think? ... do you think the animal control officer cared when that was pointed out to them? nope ... we don't give a rats @ss ....wish I had had a video camera to catch the neighbors letting him loose and then calling animal control

  • You can set up one of those motion activated game cameras hunters use. Aim it higher then your dog so he won't activate it and you might be able to catch anyone who might come in to mess with him. If someone is trespassing that's a police matter and with hard evidence they might be able to cite/warn the neighbor.

  • unfortunately as far as animal control in general ... hate them .. we were threatened with losing our pet after he was "mysteriously" found numerous times offleash. So whats the problem .. just keep him on leash right? wrong!!

  • Smurfyhandy...uh..you don't appear to know what you're talking about. One bad experience with YOUR local animal control has no bearing on how Sixbyfire was doing his job. Lighten up.

  • smart little chits!!

  • all i have to say is i probably wouldn't have recognized the sign myself. it took me two times to fig out what you were talking about.

when you get a chance could you private message me i got some questions about animal control officers. im thinking of becoming one. in columbia county, ga

  • I should delete this comment, but I won't. For the record, we're out there to save dogs and get them back home, not kill them. Maybe things are different in Chicago? Posting something like this just gives pit bull owners like yourself even more of a bad name. My own dog is a pit mix that I saved from being euthanized when nobody was going to adopt him because he's brindle and wasn't viewed as "cute". Oh well, it's never enough for some people, is it?

  • Well i hope im wrong and ur a good animal officer, but got videos of animal control sleeping on the job!

  • There's good and bad people in every job in every field. You come try and do this job for one day and you'll see how hard it can be. I know plenty of outstanding ACO's, they are the finest, hardest working, toughest and most compassionate people you will ever hope to meet.

  • PWNED by a Chiuahua!

  • ROFL Those chi's can be tricky! =P

  • Too cute...that'll teach you to turn your back on a Chi!
