  • Where is the "g" consonant (Ga gyiyeok) in the word "Sarang" ? And I'm also missing the "N" sound....?

  • @Handball9sara when you put the silent consonant "ㅇ" at the end it becomes a "ng" sound so "랑" is pronounced rang. try typing out the whole thing like how you are saying it should be, you'll notice that it's not possible to do that, it'll just look like "란ㄱ"

  • thanks so much

  • Yea Proff you should explain what Hae and others mean.. I am confused :/

  • Prof O is WORLD CLASS!

  • the drama was soooo funny! how can i forget how to say Saranghae if all i can think is Taekwando's face!!!? hahahhahahaha

  • "sarang" sounds a lot like the same word in Khmer!

  • Please do a video... how to say "I don't know." Thank you!

  • Ohhhhh no wonder Seohyun(GG) does that arm thingy xD I just saw her do it during their new york fan meeting :D

  • What does the silent consonant do? 'O' Is it just for show or does it have a purpose?

  • @iChoooser When not at the beginning it makes the 'ng' sound. At the beginning, it's used when a word starts with a vowel sound.

  • @HimitsuAI9

THAAAAAAAANKYOU! :D I was wondering about the "ng" sound for the longest time, now it makes sense ^.^

  • I would like to know if it's important to learn both native korean and sino korean. Do you use them at different times or is one more often used then others.

  • Just want to say that I came across you first video two years ago, and I was pleasantly surprised to find so many more today!!! Thank you so much!! You made me want to pick up Korean again!!!!!!!!!!!! ^^

  • @cookiesFantasy2

I am a school teacher. And I teach foreign languages. And I am also learning Korean. Yes, I agree, not many foreign language teachers are good. Actually, there are a lot of them that are bad. But there are also some very very good teachers. There are methods to make sure that you can understand 100% another language. She is a wonderful girl and very entertaining, but if she really wants to teach somebody Korean, she needs to change her methodology.

  • i need to learn this fas so i can watch kpop meetings without subs :D~

  • thank you will be good

  • @peacefulnature10 I think you should take into account that a second goal of these youtube movies is amusement. While teaching Korean, they do funny sketches, in English, to make the viewer laugh. It is for another audience, it is less for people who ónly want to learn Korean. It's is something else then pure school and only learning the language.

  • @peacefulnature10 i agree with @lkzegmenaamniet1965.at least the vid teach us something.if u want to complain,u better spend ur precious 2.27minutes attending korean languange class outside.peace ^__^

  • @peacefulnature10 you act as if you UNDERSTOOD korean that well... she speaks in english to teachu skorean. if she speaks in korean -__- probably 90% percent of us can't understand. BESIDES since when all teachers at school are goo at teaching? LIKE LOL and she's not a a real teacher.

  • @peacefulnature10 she is teaching korean for an english audience. if she was teaching korean to a korean audience, then out of 2.27 minutes of video, 2.27 minutes of video would be in korean.

she keeps the lessons simple, easy to follow and also makes the lessons funny and interesting.

if you're so great, how about you teach us something?

  • @DaAnimeOtaku Why would you teach Korean to Korean audience? It does not make any sense. Sure, I can teach you something: I am going to give you a link to a Spanish video by another school teacher. This is an example how a person can teach Spanish (notice, how he speaks Spanish 7 minutes out of 7:17 minute video). Okay, I cannot post it for some reason, but look up El problema de Blancanieves v2 on Youtube.

  • @peacefulnature10 uh... why do we learn english at school? i believe that is teaching english to an english audience.

so likewise, they could (if they wanted) teach korean to a korean audience.

  • @DaAnimeOtaku They are teaching how to say "I love you" in English at your school? Wow, that's unheard of.

  • XD i loved this! you'r awsome!

  • About love in Korea. Can TKD please please explain me about Korean girls? They are very attractive, and I love them.., but I hate them too sometimes. We men have to do all the work. They never show any initiative do they? Ok, ok, I must say, if I do my utter best, then they react positively, most of the time, on my initiatives.

  • YOU MAKE KOREAN CLASSES THE BEST ONES I'VE EVER HAD!

  • you are awesome!!!! i now understand half of what tthey say in korean dramas thanks alot -__-

  • Billy's boyfriend dramatic!!! lol

  • 0:01 reminds me of Xiaxue

  • i never get how to pronounce the flipping l consonant... sad...

  • Oh KWOW , your videos are really perfect *o*

I am Brazilian, but I can understand a little English andand here is easy to get to learn Korean.

But ... I have a doubt. There are in some places and also in the lyrics of musics the expression "Neol Sarang Hae". From what I understand seems to be the same as "Sarang Hae Yo" but I wish someone could pull me out this doubt if they really are the same. I'm very curious about it.

Sorry my english, I'm not so good. And anyway, thank you~~

  • annyeonghaseyo, yepuda, saranghee! that's what I learned from my Korean friend, I probably spelled wrong, but my pronunciation is ok.. hehe

  • This is a different intro than in the further episodes :o

  • Saranghae professor Oh!!!

  • hehe

  • "Kajima~" *looks up abruptly* "saranghae!" LOL

  • First sentence I learned was Sarang hae yo because of Kdrama's lol. Love all your episodes so far but just started watching them about a week ago. So I know I have a lot of catching up to do ^_^

  • @mommyanew Haha I've also picked that up (among other words) because of Kdramas.

  • @starfire139 Most of the words I learned was from You're beautiful lol. Honestly Oppa was my first word then I learned small phrases like AnNyoung ha sae yo, Sarang hae yo (from Jeremy [played by Lee Kong Ki] sang to Gi Mi Nyeo on the bus) Ahhhh good times lol. But its awesome that I can learn from Professor Oh and from my favorite Kdramas.

  • @mommyanew Yes! I learned from the same Kdrama! Haha that drama was so cute. That was my first Kdrama that I watched. :) I also learned kahnsahamnida.

  • XD McDonalds for I Love You in Korea (with Smile)

  • I'm so glad you're making videos frequently now. I remember watching your first lesson wishing you had other videos. I've pretty much mastered the Korean alphabet thanks to you. :)

  • Professor Oh, if it's a silent consonant under the "sa" how does it translate to ng? Does that mean the silent consonant can be ng in almost any word? I've been copying down the Korean writing I see on shows like Star King and so on and trying to figure out what they say as practice. now I'm worried I'm completely wrong!

  • @suzie2qute o is silent before a vowel, but after a vowel it becomes ng. Ex: 응 /ung/ silent + eu + ng ^o^

    Kwow 사랑해요!

  • @LittleUFreak Thank you! Makes sense to me now. :)

  • Sa rang hea yo! professor Oh. Interesting i love your class very much.

  • like the end..is so funny ``Don`t go..!!! I love you!!!`` :)) great video it makes me understand the differents!!!! Thank you for making this video!!!! 사랑해요 !!! BTW i couldn`y stop to say this if you are an ELF then you`ll know that Super Junior won for 10 times they are so amaizing!!!!! ^^

  • i found kwow today...and it's so cool! sa rang hae, for teaching us! ♥ thank you so much. (:

  • Haha, thanks(:

  • can you do a short video on numbers to 10 or something. i have seen them written down but pronunciation is always hard when you haven't heard them.

  • hi! your lesson is great! by the way, you used some music the last pert right? I wonder who made it. I am kind of familiar with the song and if the song is the same I am thinking, the composer is MSU's student?

  • so how would you say i love you to a celeberty./?

  • why can you her an n in saran if you dont writte an n

  • @AlwaysOriginalForME the korean letter ㅇ is either a silent place holder (at the beginning) or "ng" at the end of word, so you are really hearing "sarang"

  • Unni !

    나 진 짜 사랑해요 ! -3

    Keep that up

  • @ 0:03 you look like our korean supervisor~ heheeh!

btw/!!! what is the difference of HAPnida and HAMnida?

  • i am your fan ,teacher

  • You are a grate teacher Professor Oh!

  • sa rang hea teacher Billy :* , well it's so easy

you can say it like this " Oheboka " in arabic <3

  • If you use ᄋ as "n" normally, does that mean the "ᄂ" in "란" is silent?

  • Saranghae!

  • 사랑!

  • I'm confused. For 사랑, how is it that the second half (rang) has a g sound at the end? I thought it would just be rah. o.o help?

  • @overlycasual ㅇ in front of a vowel has no sound but ㅇ after a vowel is like NG for riNG,raNG,sliNG. Hangeul(korean alphabet) one has to put ㅇ always in front of a vowel. One cannot start a word with plain vowel as far as writing it is concerned. If you like to learn more about korean language , another good site is TALK TO ME IN KOREAN

  • why do you say ....hamnida? sounds more like 'm'!doesnt 'bah' transcript into: soft b almost p?also in korean dramas they usually say everything in 'mnida'* ;P

  • Respond to this video... although 사랑합니다 is spelled with a ㅂ there's a rule in the korean language that whenever a ㅂ is followed by an ㄴ, the ㅂ is sounded as an ㅁ/M, hence it is saying it like SARANGHAMNIDA even though it is spelled as SARANGHABNIDA.

  • @kwiyeountwaeji thanks so much!! ;)

  • iloveyou proffesor Oh!

  • Wow, she's amazing, funny and a wonderful teacher. Seriously. I am teaching Korean to Americans as a volunteer. She's really inspiring. Thanks so much.

  • 사랑seetandtasty I like learn Korea

  • doesnt 'sa rang' also mean 'person'?

  • The only Korean phrase my ex taught me... :(

  • I got a question... what is Ahjumma? (i guess thats how its spell)

  • @freakBucketz If i am not mistaken, it's used to address those older women in Korean.

  • In the end, did you say Gah Ji Mah? Does it mean, don't go? I've heard it a lot.

  • @MrPopoku Yes indeed, it means "Don't go." You got an A+ for the day :)

  • @sweetandtasty What about me?!?!?

  • Or maybe even a better word: "eotteohge"!! (not sure how you write it..^^)

  • @FizzyMcPhysics Theres a few ways to say numbers thats why.
