Great demo. in places, the Lex tends to emphasizes particular parts of the sound in such a way as to make it sound as if you're playing a slightly different chord on each.
The Lex is making this weird noise that is a half step away from the key you are playing in... But nice demo and great playing! I think the Vent might be better for Organ and the Lex better for Guitar.
Great demo Thanks! I also prefer the Vent with the organ, but as I am a guitar player, I'll probably go with the Lex ( In fact I already ordered it! )...
They both sound really good. Great demo! Both of these pedals are using the same technology. The Lex has a better noise to floor ratio and a higher A/D/A conversion bit rate. It's lighter and smaller, and it's $200 less than the Vent.
Great upload Marco. Very interesting. The Lex sounds a bit more strident, not as warm, but maybe the balance was set more to the treble horn?
It would be interesting to hear what the 'front sound' is like. The Lex sounds a touch more aggresive but then again I think a real Leslie also sounds a bit more aggresive than the Ventilator.
Both Lex and Ventilator sound excellent and a major improvement over any previous stand-alone simulators. : ))))
every setting was left in "flat" position for both machines.
so the comparison is the most accurate possible between the two machines, with the same conditions and settings :-)))).
the Lex has no possibility to balance the horn and the rotor, or, betterm the rotor level is fixed, no possibility to decrease it. you can just adjust the hor to "maximum" level in order to have the "balanced" position (corresponding to central position of the Ventilator)
The Lex Rotary isn't so bad, but it has to me a more direct sound...like the leslie was recorded with the back panels removed and the microphones recording what's coming out directly through the rotor and horn. I like the ventilator a little better because it seems to breathe better...like how you would listen to a real Leslie....through the louvers. The ventilator seem to have a more balanced sound between the horn and rotor. Either way, both of them are pretty good simulators.
I can't say for sure that the Vent is better, yet they do sound different, each with its own character, maybe like two different B3's or Leslies :) Yout tube pre-amp certainly adds some nice grind - what kind of pre-amp is it?
Now, it would be nice to hear how the third new Leslie simulator - Tech 21
Roto Choir - sounds in comparison - they have not yet any demos with organs.
I prefer the lex. Much better overdrive.

Both of these are, in my opinion, the best sims you can buy, but I like the Ventilator myself.

The Ventilator is hands-down the better of the two--I can tell when it's on even without watching the video. Sounds like a real Leslie. Amazing.

yes! see also my last two videos with the Vent....
thanks for watching :-)

the vent seems smoother but the lex seems to have more distortion available. I think I like them both for different reasons.

Vent: 48khz, 24 bit, -80 dBA
Lex: 96kHz, 24-bit, -110 dBA
So which one are you keeping?

ciao! thanks for comment!
the Vent is mine, the Lex comes from a friend, just for the comparison.
I still prefer the Vent :-)

The sound of the Ventilator is vastly better than the Lex--much more realistic and organic.

you're exactly right: I used the Lex in that configuration --> back of the leslie.
it can also be configured in the "front mode", but the sound was not comparable with the Ventilator (but really good too)

the Roto Choir is not yet arrived in Italy :-((((
but I think that still the only organ-thinked is the Ventilator (the others are pedals for guitarists)
