Perfection and imperfection is just a label we are fixated on it and used that on someone like our Lama whom we have taken refuge and suppose to perceive as equal to a Buddha. Hence, knowing that we know we can affect our perception of our Lama although we perceive otherwise. That training is part of our spiritual practice.

I think whichever teacher we have, high Lama or simple Geshe, they all teach the Dharma with a kind heart and pure motivation. We should reciprocate the same despite rumors and obstacles because it is our own spiritual path and we have already checked our teacher's motivation and knowledge already before taking refuge.

We have to train ourselves to see only the fantastic qualities in our teachers. Then we have to extend that towards everyone else and hence able to progress faster on the spiritual path.

My teacher has many faces, he gives gifts, he teaches on the throne, he advices, he jokes, he orders, he scolds, he teases, he laughs, he acts silly all the benefit me and push my buttons so I check and see my level of practice after I finished or during the puja/Dharma talk.

Rinpoche, you are right, most of us judge people by 10cent and not 9 dollars and 9 cents. Sad but true, we are so critical on others, what for? Even that person is a monk, a teacher, people behave so critical on each other, which result so many unhappiness. Mind is so close. I love this teaching. I respect you.

Having a perfect teacher is just like having a parent with us. Teachers who can continuous to guide and teach us, who can really transform our mind and show us the truth of ourselves and admit it.....although sometimes it does hurt to know our innerself, but we cant hide, and we should accept it and practise along the way, this is where we find the real happiness in ourselves......

the whole point about Buddhist teachings and having a teacher is to change your mode of perception and to blow your mind away from conventional preceptions that are usually wrong. the perfect teacher is the teacher who is close to us physically, who holds his or her vows, whose teachings actually help and teach us on how to transform our minds. teachers are scary and intimidating because they crush the ego directily, leaving no room for it to hide because the more it hides the stronger it becomes. Without a teacher, this is close to impossible to tell as awareness is part of the ego to some extent without a proper guide.
