@kingtoadius Yeah, I find it funny that in these kinds of promos it's always (without X we couldn't have done it.) In this case, what they did could have been done in just about any DAW. For us home studio guys though, that can't afford Pro Tools HD, anything below that is a waste because of the track limit. Better off with Cubase. Me, I use Sonar.
I have previously worked with Pro Tools and I couldn't really get my head around it, then I took a class that worked mainly with Adobe Audition and that was very simple and I thought, hey this is kind of like Pro Tools, I think I'll try to start that back up again, so I went back to Pro Tools and now I'm worse off than I was before hahahaha
@Diefordethklok333 Well any of the decent daws. Sonar, Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools are fairly similar. Obviously though the more money you spend the more feature rich the daw.
@Swidhelm You just contradicted yourself so perhaps you should know what your talking about before you make a point. "Its more or less the same" "Well it depends how much you spend". Some DAWS do things others don´t because not all DAWS are made with the same purposes in mind. Cubase is not nearly as equipped for mixing movies like Protools is and I should know, I just finished mixing a feature. I am fluent in Cubase and PT and you couldn't pay me enough money to do the same job in Cubase. Peace
@Diefordethklok333 No I didn't contradict myself. That's why right off the hop I said more or less. It depends on your needs, but most features are covered in each of the daws. Sure, Pro Tools is better at mixing features, but you can mix features in any of them. My point is if you spend say $400 on Pro Tools, or Cubase, or Sonar, or Logic (depending on the version) regardless of what your goal is, you could pull it off in any of them.
@Swidhelm Well when you say something that you mean, and then all of the sudden mean something else, that's what we call contradiction no matter how strategically you tried to phrase your opinion. And NO in the industry it´s NOT the same at all. Sure you might be able to do some of the same things after a fashion but its important to note that time is money and 9 times out of 10 PT can do the deed faster, with more efficiency allowing for more creativity. Leading to a better final result. There.
@druidmechanics yes lot of people do not know that. I used Samplitude at a studio years ago and I thought it was really good. It was expensive at the time. how much is it now?
@jimmy3189 WHAAAAAAT!!!!!!! LOL logic had all those in version 7. screw beat detective. it has a tempo finder. groups, pffff not even worth talkin about. 7.1 mixing with full flexability. pro tools needs to catch up. oh and you can score video too. seriously check it out. oh and if thats not enough, logic supports full tdm plugins and hardware . so i get to use pro tools hardware with my logic rig......need i say more?
How are VCA groups not worth talking about? You can score video in Pro Tools... Last time I heard the latest logic can no longer use TDM stuff, Digi broke something about 6months back.
I don't mean the tempo finder part, I mean the slicing and editing of beat orientated audio, flextime isn't reliable enough for me, even beat detective isn't bang on everytime you still have to edit it manually.
I own both..... but logic does not have everything pro tools has.
@jimmy3189 logic does everything we both just stated. in refference to the tdm not being used anymore, thats because of the update, logic 9.1, which is 64 bit. there are a lot of stupid things wrong with that like rewire no longer working. there are gonna be some wins and losses between the two programs ofcourse, but from my experience i can do everything pro tools can do well within logic. for me logic is better. but to each his own.
@jnyce695 Agreed, you can definitely perform same things with Logic absolutely. Especially if you have all the rack gear to support it on the side. PT is ok too, it's just a co-called industry "standard" that's all...
I agree with navylaks2. Song "I see you" is almost similar to Titanic. They should be more original to it, but I liked the movie.Although is a bit predictable, you know what is gonna happen.

Stop shitting on Cubase because for film mixing there is Nuendo. Cubase is more appropriate for music production.

WOW, Horner has lost weight. He looks a lot thinner in the face compared to the Aliens DVD.

stop it with this Logic vs Pro tools. What you need is a good pair of ears and you can't buy those. Sonar user here :)

@maltcus I second that. I'm a sonar user as well. It just works for my needs. But ultimately you can do more or less the same things in any DAW.

Great soundtrack but they did a huge mistake at the end with the song i see you, it was Titanic part 2.
They could atleast have chosen a male voice this time to make it different and more fidding with the main caracter of the movie
