I cant play games on my VMware Fusion it says your graphics card or video card has properly stopped working even though on my mac it works properly please help!
i just bought my mac book pro tonight and i also got the vmware and i got windows vista is it hard to get all of it working or is it really just a matter of putting the discs in?
Software and video games doesn't have anything to do with the OS itself. Mac is A LOT better than Windows when it comes to multiprogramming and multithreading. This has all to do with context switching, schedulers, swap algorithms, etc. It's basically a better OS, but indeed there aren't many games that run on Mac. That isn't something Apple can fully control unfortunately, but it doesn't make Windows a better OS than Mac. Get your facts straight before posting.
Do it... you won't regret it at all. And if you have the bucks to spend on a powerful mac and run VMware fusion, you'll be able to get the best of both worlds: convenience and stability. I've been using a mac for about 3 years and it's been super-stable. No crashes, no problems whatsoever.
Apple may be pricy, but I still have my ibook back from 5 years ago and it still runs just like when I first got it. I now have another Apple computer also and it is great too... but just like everything, they are going to keep updating the computers but you don't have to keep buying new computers like windows...
i love stealing microsoft+apple stuff linux rule i can run 7 leopard and ubuntu on my computer so hahahah to you chinese bitches why just cuz i can you weird eye motherfuckers
sorry, that is a misleading fact. I have not known anyone of my friends get a bsod, i have never had the bsod, and none of the computers at my school have gotten the bsod. thats about 50 computers. with vista
im getting annoyed with my computer. but do u noe why this blue stopp error message came up when i accessed windows on iMac? i alrdy tried to add more diskspcae. didnt work and i even restarting it. it's ruinging my comp. do u noe what happened. and how do u add vista? everyimte itry to add it and i dont put a windows product key it doesnt work and says no boot device detected or something.
yeah, the ubuntu firefox vmware appliance is great for going to dangerous (keygen) websites.
the whole virtual machine resets itself back to its original state, after use. You cant keep any bookmarks, or files in the VM, but it can meet up with the nastiest attack, and come out clean.
I use Windows and Mac. I've never had a virus. In my experience unless you are in a dark corner of the net - e.g. Serial keygen sites or porn, you won't get viruses.
Does VMWare ask for a disc to install Windows? If it does, could you burn a cracked version, and it would take that? (No judgements please.) Is there any way round buying Windows? I'd pay for VMWare!
Q1
One word - CRYSIS. If I shoved enough RAM in (4GB?), could I potentially have a game of Crysis going on in a 'Windows window' and switch to, say whatever I'm doing on Safari? Or is that just too much?
But yeah Chris Pirillo and Labo have sold me on this over Boot Camp/Parallels.
If you want to play crysis, i would go for installing windows on a boot camp partition and then running it from there. The good thing about vm ware is that you could run that boot camp partition in mac itself.
Great video! But one thing: Does Aero work in Leopard without being choppy? Or do you need a fairly powerful system to be able to have transparency and Unity going at the same time?
cheers for video. looks like it runs vista smoothly via vmware fusion.
what mac are you using?
im thinking of getting an imac and vmware on it so i can run vista because i use a lot of windows programs like rhino, autocad, 3ds max...just worried if its gonna work ok!? whats your opinion?

@theapplefreakk With VirtualBox that is free... any Windows/PC can run Mac OS...
And VirtualBox supports 64bit OSes as well...
I used VirtualBox in Linux Ubuntu on my PC to run Mac OS X and Windows 7 ...
vmware will also run the Mac OS on a Windows/ PC Plus there is thing call Hackintosh...

@theapplefreakk Sad but true, Mac OSX can be installed on pc. It's called Hackintosh.. :)

What are the specs on your computer? How much ram? How big is the processor? I'm assuming you'd need a powerful computer.
Masteroftrancegirl 3 years ago
1.83ghz intel core 2 duo, 1gb 667 mhz ram, mac os x leopard (v10.5.1) ; [pause] @ 0:11/3:56
9o3 3 years ago 2
wow, that's all? I thought you would need more ram and a faster processor than that. That's surprising but in a good way :-)
Masteroftrancegirl 3 years ago
Worst music ever.
I run a MBP with intel core 2 duo 2.2 ghz. VMware fusion runs much smoother than Parallels but I haven't tried bootcamp yet.

What Mac do you have? Depends if you wanna play Crysis...
Anyway, yes it will accept a "cracked" version. There is a way around buying Windows...

you should get vista ultimate feb 2008 off ST, and syntheitx OSX/VMware of PB. Never pay for software!
Run the Crysis on the Vista and the mac in the VM.

not a good idea. those programs you mentioned are hardware intenstive. If they are run through emulation they will be slow.

so do you think it'd be ok to run them through boot camp?

yea, running through boot camp is fine. it's not emulated.
