De todas formas, y a su pesar, creo que seguiré opinando lo que me dé la real gana (¡qué manía de tenerle que indicar a los demás lo que pueden decir o no decir!). Y en el caso concreto que nos ocupa sólo veo exceso de "melos" y destemplanza por todas partes. Con magníficas voces, eso sí, pero pasadas de rosca. Que le vaya bien.

Se non lo sai, Carmen è un'opera realista, quindi si presuppone che la recitazione in una scena di tale portata drammatica sia di una certa intensità (visto che siamo in teatro e non al cinema) ! La distanza tra il pubblico e il palcoscenico esige un'espressività caricata. Questo è un filmato dal vivo in teatro e i primi piani possono sembrare eccessivi, ma x gli spettatori del Bolshoj deve essere stato emozionante !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that too few of today's tenors project the emotion and passion that was evident in Del Monaco, Corelli, and Di Stefano. Today's young up-and-coming tenors seem to rein in their emotions rather than go all-out, with full-blast bombast. How nice to have these video clips of the great ones!!

@21donbar1 I agree that most tenors today keep their emotions in, and I can say that I'm not quite one of those...at least, not anymore...I'm in college now and have learned how to express my emotions in music without killing my voice...as far as emotional connection, I think that MDM, Corelli, and Di Stefano are the people we should look to for advice...

L'arte di Del Monaco alla cima! Era al suo migliore in ruoli dei mezzi pazzi specialmenete questo. Sempre vedo varie classificazioni di cantanti. Del Monaco era un caso unico: tenore declamatorio-dramatico. Quest'arte era un lungo passo dal bel canto. Grand'artista ma unico e diverso. Questo video da un pizzico della sua arte espressiva. Era una cosa da pazzi !
