  • From all of us veterans here in the United States, thank you for your service Mr. Patch.

  • who is that disrespectful bastard who disliked sir harry patch's funeral he was a great hero and has been loved by millions even in the years to come we will not forget him

    R.I.P Sir Harry Patch

  • @himanssoul A German.

  • It's funny; they marched off to the trenches with fanfare and streets lined with the cheering crowds! And now he is buried, marching off to his final trench ,the streets lined with cheering crowds.

  • R.I.P HARRY

  • R.I.P Harry

  • goodbye Harry and RIP

  • That was very interesting. Marching behind the funeral car were French and German troops along with British troops.

  • @Urinesauce

    Correct

In fact, Harry Patch's coffin was escorted by soldiers from the "Sucessor regiment to The Duke of Cornwall's light infantry," and 2 privates each from the armies of France, Germany and Belgium

  • and belgians

  • @Urinesauce dont forget its allways them in power that make us fight ,my great grandad told me the germans where no different to us who fought (apart from the ss he hated them) god bless harry .

  • A marvellous send-off for a man who, for once, truly deserved it.

  • @jackHNv

    All the soldiers deserve it

  • Hmmm...a question.

When the police officer brings his hand to salute at 0.28, is this correct?

Are civil services supposed to salute at military ceremonies?

  • I am an (English) cop in Western Australia and I would have saluted right or wrong! Get over the political and procedural correctness! We each have our own way of showing respect ! Mine are borne out of memories of my grandad and great uncles who gave service and lives! No need to say what you have!! We each have our own way of showing respect!

  • My grandfather fought in WW 1 in the Ardennes. He was a messenger. I think he would agree that both sides gave so much for all of us. Rest In Peace Grandpa William Hoyle and Mr. Patch and thank you.
