  • You should have let an expert do the one inch punch...

  • they had that muay thai fighter on Stan Lee's Superhuman and he only generated just over a 1100 lbs of force on his kick, so whos data is right..? hhhmmm

  • 8:34 wtf....

  • the people takeing the reading in this show are the same ones in those other shows on tv, like sport science and that one on warriors on spike tv.

  • They should have tested one person doing the diffrent techs

  • Did they honestly compare a knee strike to a kick? I wonder where they got their degree in science.

  • yeah ok but can one really use what he/she knows on another great fighter, fighting is the most complicated interaction between humans, you really got to be like Bruce Lee to over come all else...And he was the best at all martial arts

  • momomomomomomomomom aich aich aichaichaich momommomommoomomomomomom

  • id like to c the pounds of punches by the same person

  • 7:05

tell me that dosent sound like saying falco puch

  • the boxer looks like he outweighs the wushu guy by a mile or two. its like a slap vs a sledge hammer

  • @Bluerocka145 The boxer is 154lb fighter, so it couldnt be that much. I highly doubt the pulled in random guys either, I am sure they got dudes within the same weight.

  • @GildySanders the power of your strike depends on 2 things how much weight you put behind it ie a boxing punch and the speed at which it is traveling ie a 154lb fighter can generate alot of force as long as its fast. but the truth is the average boxer has an 880lb punch even the little guys

  • What's funny is the Ninja Glen Levy on the show fight science had a simple hammer punch that was .8 on the same scale and 2 inch chest compression. Look it up it's amazing.

  • it's not the martial art, it's the person practicing it.

  • @daboodeef179 it is the martial art though, because there is different ways of throwing punches

  • @ajteel but everyone is different. Not everyone who boxes can generate over 1000lbs of force. some people who practices Kung Fu can probably generate over 1000lbs of force. and not one punch is for one martial art. on a side note: that "karate punch" and the form was horrible.

  • lol.. size does matter, and yet they choose the smallest kungfu-man...

  • doesn't this all count on the technique and strength of the fighter

  • oxing certainly would have the strongest punch, its the only legal thing available to it.

  • personally i enjoy the show cause its scientific but just to see things a big more acurate i wanna see the Muay Thai Fighters Punch and Capoeria's kick. While all are the same weight class, theres a reason why combat sports have weight classes .

  • does the punch gets more powerful if the glove is put on or without?

  • Aren't kung ku masters the ones saying size doesn't matter, yet every kung fu fan is bitching about it.....

  • @MyR0ach

More mass equals heavier punch. No one's gonna deny that. Get real. What Kung Fu guys probably argue is that size doesn't win fights, which is true.

  • @BTNH24 true, but at the same time, MORE SPEED GENERATES MUCH MUCH MORE POWER!

    PLUS, YOU get there first....continuously.

I'd put my money on a 200 lb fighter who benches his body, but has incredible speed and punching power over a 300 lb guy who benches 500lb but is slow and untrained any day.

  • @chrisgrinhard Some of the hardest punchers were not that fast, Foreman and Shavers are the two hardest punchers ever and they were not terribly fast. Tyson however got nearly all his power from speed. Notice when he slowed down in his career, he couldnt knock out anyone.

  • @GildySanders true about foreman, I agree with you on that

But I notice you agreed with me too with the tyson comment.

He was one of the smallest heavyweights, but generated one of the most powerful punches.

    We both have good points!

    PEACE

  • @chrisgrinhard Tyson did not generate as much power as people think, sure against third tier opposition, even then most of his knockouts were not one punch, but TKO's in which a guy went down three times or whatever. I am not sure why people think Tyson was so powerful, who the hell did he beat?

  • @GildySanders tysons punch back in the day was about 1400lbs of force

  • @superrevivalcom force equals mass times speed (velocity) SQUARED!!

  • I tought they said it was supposed to be a kicking strike not a knee strike.

  • did the boxer even try???? come on man!

  • @ElEkTrIKRoMe IT LOOKED LIKE THE BOXER BARELY TRIED LOL. IF HE TRIED HIS BEST IM PRETTY SURE IT WOULD BE WAY OVER 1000 LBS OF FORCE

  • this is INNACURATE!!! they should rate them seperately as individuals, not just the punch force of the whole STYLE of martial art....for the kung fu guy, they should have gotten a Shaolin Monk...broken dummy.

  • Press 8 a couple of times, bet you cant press the button 1000 times and he kicks a banana tree 1000 times a day

  • that straight punch from boxing scared me a lil bit O.O

  • ... these guys are idiots no shit a knee is gona be powerful than a kick the most powerful kick to the body is actually the turning side kick

  • Muay Thaii ... and boxing. yeahhh

  • The Boxer guy Steve Petramale of Shadow Boxing LA was convicted of Raping a Little Retarded Boy in the ASS and spent quite a few years in Prison. But to be fair he was abused as a child by his daddy who used to make him lick the shit off his dick after he sodomized his mother. Poor Faggot Petramale. Now he rapes his Brazilian wife in the ass and then licks the shit off his own dick. Yes, he is that flexible. It's why he likes to punch things cause he is an angry drunk trying to forget the past.

  • Duh! Ip Man said it! It just hit me!

  • I'm not sure who originally said thi, but Donnie Yen said it on "Ip Man".

"It's not the style that's better. But the fighter using it."

  • krav Maga is twice as better as boxing and Kung Fu put together

  • the TKD guy was the Samurai expert in another episode in this series. It seems more to me that these individuals don't specialize in the methods they're representing here. Other than the boxer, none of the punches that the other guys threw were at all acurate to the strikes from the stiles they represented. They're either too telegraphed, thrown with too much tension, or were so in unskillfully exicuted that the individual had to work twice as hard just to look convincing.

  • @erecartes rofl....u don't know wat u r talking about. Those guys are real fighters.

  • I mean...get the guys in the same weight category....

  • I go with boxing guy

  • boxer barely hit it

  • hey thats the AFRO NINJA!!!!!! the karate guy in red

  • A sledgehammer to the face?

I'm not gonna piss of a boxer, but I dount they'd rip my brain out of my skull with one hit.

  • this would be more fair if they all weigh the same.

  • to be fair the muay thai has kicks and using the knee is clearly not a kick, and there supposed to be measuring kicks so technicaly the tae kwon kick was the best in the vid. If so they should have let elbow strikes during the punch session

  • @armordiego Very true. Plus kung fu has alot of different stirkes with knees and elbows too so kung fu wouldn't be out of the game either. The fighter on here however just chooses or gets told to use the jumping double side kick.

  • @suckmeballsalot Yea it seems the people in fight science either wanna give muay thai allot of hype or they just dont wanna play fair , since I highly doubt they are dumb enough to not know the difference between knee stike and kicking.

  • the karate guy...is that

the black ninja guy who did the back flip

  • it ended too soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is so dumb. Not very scientific to use a sample size of 1 for every martial art. I'm sure a male kung fuer can punch harder than a girl boxer.

  • people keep talkin about the size of the boxer...but if u look at both the Karate and Tae Kwondo competitors, you'll notice they arent' tiny guys either, the kung fu guys is the lightest but the style , technique used in that art form especially for the punching doesn't seem geared toward power at all...

  • @ViceVurze1 its geared more towards speed

  • @bobthebob4201 Force equals mass times (velocity SQUARED)!! This means that if you are even slightly faster, you will probably hit harder than someone significantly bigger. It also means that a technique that uses very little linking (vertical punch) will not hit very hard.

  • @ViceVurze1 Honestly, with the exception of weight difference (and this is definitely the case) a Tae Kwon Do practitioner should not be punching harder than a Karate practitioner.

  • The little 100lb asian got within what? 300 lbs of the boxer who was two and a half times his weight ... hrrmmmm...

  • MMAWELLNESS.BLOGSPOT.COM

  • One punch can beat all of those...

    FALCON....PUNCH!!!!!!!!

  • That boxer is featherfisted. Get an elite fighter in there. That guy is a bum, cant even knock out guys that are 0-1.

  • @willfuckforbeer That holds true for probably all those guys, I assume there are practitioners of each of those styles who can put out quite alot more force than all them.

  • also the muy thai fighter shouldve done the roundhouse kick instead of knee

  • kung fu punch..... is not one inch punch, kungfu is just a punch with its style incorporated, 1inch is close range using body weight transfer to add force not meant ot hurt but to force the opponent away

  • 6:16 lol his chest jiggles

  • a seldge hammer to the face? bullshit. a sledge hammer to the face would kill someone and crush the skull into shards

  • @WaTeRpOoPfArT when you hit someone with a sledge hammer you dont swing it like you hit a wall ou use the flat side of the top and ram it straight foward it breaks stuff but its not fatal.

  • @TheMisslarece what are you saying? a sledge hammer can definitely be swung like you would on a wall.

  • How can you compare a knee strike to a kick? That's like saying an elbow strike is a punch...

  • Some of these guys need to watch their balance tho...

  • in that room is some teriifing people. I would watch my mouth in there, good lord

  • There is a flaw... the bigger the puncher the bigger the impact... so the puncher is not a constant which would drastically change the data if the puncher was a constant... basically fighting is almost impossible to get down 100% which could be said for all science

  • @Foxhound1112 The TKD guy was the biggest. Why didn't he hit the hardest? Because technique used matters too.

  • @callofduty497 care to explain why?

  • Well of course the muay thai clinch knee has more power. The clinch traps that power and keeps energy from escaping out the back of the dummy by not letting it rock backward.

  • Gotta' love boxing

  • Heard a while back worlds strongest punch (Based off of who entered the compitions) was won by the brazilians. A female (don't know her name) using Capiara generated more power than anyone else in the compition. Behind her in 2nd was a pro boxer. She did not do a straight in punch like everyone else though. She torqued around to the side and struck hard. Power came from her style in movement in the legs.

  • @callofduty497 wow ur really really retarted

  • Kind of stupid...since they're basing a "style's effectiveness" based on individual people's abilities.....ignoring the fact that people themselves are each different in mass and ability. "DUR HUR THIS IS A TKD PUNCH, MORE POWERFUL THAN MUAY THAI FIGHT" I often wonder if common sense was factored into this study

  • these studies are flawed... the tkd guy was 2 times bigger..

  • why the fuck wouldnt they measure the pounds of pressure for the mauy thai round kick

  • All of these will F*#k you up.

  • ye stupid science

that boxer just has 1 ko LOL

edwin valero and maidana being alot smaller probably hit harder then him

  • @JackPantz yes it matters. Force = Mass x Acceleration.

If all the fighters weighed the same weight, 135 lb, the punches would be:

    Wing Chun(135lb): 612lb punch

    Karate(165lb): 500lb punch

Tae Kwon do(185lb): 446 lb punch

    Boxing(200lb): 413lb punch

    This is "theoretically simplified..."

    Variables are not in consideration...

  • @YangSword9x thatboxer is actually much smaller than that. he used to compete at around 160lb. and why didnt they measure muay thai punch?... just wonderin. i know he is a tiny dude... but still

  • @YangSword9x I think you fail at physics.

  • @gooseriffic that is not very informative. What have you changed by just saying, "I think you fail at physics". If you're just trying to satisfy yourself, then of course that has nothing to do with my understanding of your reply. If you're trying to inform me of your logic, then explain. If not, then keep putting people down for their attempts.

  • @YangSword9x Before I go much further, where are you getting the weights of these fighters? The Kung fu guy looks significantly heavier than 135.

  • @gooseriffic watch the entire movie of this sports science, the narrator will inform you. That's better than taking my word for it. I have not even bother to look at this vid for an entire year...or longer until you replied.

I think there is 10 parts to it....freakin long I know, but its interesting.

  • @YangSword9x ok. force = mass * (speed squared). True. However, it's not like we put each of these guys in a cannon and fire them at the target. They each keep some of their weight on the ground. The difference in force is both how quickly they can get their mass into the target and how "stiff" (for lack of a better word) they can be when they strike.

This is why a guy who's 200 ilb of muscle can strike with more force than someone who's 200 lbs of mostly fat.

    It isn't a linear equation.

  • Does it not matter that the boxer and tae kwon do dudes were a lot bigger than the others?

  • 5:54 that kick seemed preety hard!O.o

  • @YangSword9x yeah you are

  • This is hardly fair, the boxer looks twice as heavy as the kung fu fighter

  • @121jiggawattz

it doesn't matter what the size is of the fighter, if the practicioner of kung fu knows how to channel his Chi, then he should have no problem striking more powerful than the boxer

  • @KukSoolWon2000 im not going to get into a debate about Chi, but it's simple physics, Force = Mass x Acceleration, what do you think would hurt more, a 60 lb dog running into you at 10mph, or a 6000 lb rhinoceros running into you at 10mph?

  • @121jiggawattz Gonna be the physics nerd and say if you're talking about mph and weight, then you should be using the .5mv^2=kinetic energy formula instead of F=Ma. If you want to get really technical, you should be calculating impulse using the momentum formula.

  • @dtothelu well im clearly not as smart as you

  • @121jiggawattz How often do you see buff kung fu fighters? It's a nimble and quick art, not power like boxing.

  • @MrSnazzleFrazz Have you ever seen boxing? A lot of boxers like Manny Pacquiao are fucking quick

  • @121jiggawattz Guess what weight class he's in?

  • @MrSnazzleFrazz Ya, he's welterweight, i'll step it up to the legend Muhammad Ali he's damn quick and what about ufc fighters like Anderson Silva, you dont need to be small to be quick

  • @121jiggawattz In comparison to the Kung Fu fighter, Muhammad isn't fast at all. Not even Silva is as fast as a Kung Fu master. Nor even a black belt.

  • @MrSnazzleFrazz umm... no. Just no. Muhammad Ali was one of the fastest ever to live.

  • @121jiggawattz Yea he's also twice the size of the Muy Thai guy at the end. Did you watch the whole video??

  • @mjs0077 well the muay thai fighter used a very different technique than the others, by actually holding the dummy and driving his knee into it he generated a lot of force even though he is quite small, this just proves how this entire experiment is lacking controlled variables which is my main point

  • @mjs0077 Nowhere near 'twice the size"

  • Unless you're talking strictly about punches..

  • @121jiggawattz the kung fu punch was all speed and no mass behind it

  • @teslic100 which is exactly why it didn't hit as hard as the boxer's punch, he had a lot of speed, but he doesn't have nearly as much mass as the boxer's

  • @121jiggawattz He does have nearly as much mass. His technique doesn't allow much of that mass to be directed towards the target.

  • @121jiggawattz kung fu guy looks about 170. Boxer looks about 210. Hardly twice the size

  • @gooseriffic Are you kidding me? the kung fu guy looked like 150, and even 20lbs can make a huge difference, why do you think they're so precise when they weigh-in two people in a fight?

  • @121jiggawattz Really? You REALLY think 20 lbs will DOUBLE the force with which you strike? If that was the case, the TKD would've easily won the entire thing. Or could it be that the technique of vertical punching doesn't just work that well?

  • @gooseriffic Did i ever say that 20 lbs could double the amount of force?

  • @121jiggawattz You implied it explained the difference in force. If they both hit at the same speed, 20lbs might explain a 10-15% difference in force.

  • Hahah Cox internet ad.......................then the Cox internet I have slows to the point of buffering the ad.

  • The karate and tkd fighters both lunged forward as they threw their punches and still didn't hit as hard as a stationary boxer, that shows form and technique are everything, shit, the boxer punched nearly as hard as the karate kick!!!!

  • this is wrong how can a gaywondo punch harder then a kung fu fighter, must be wrong

  • @choyleefutkid1 well...a punch is a punch regardless of what style it is...lol

  • how can u have punches from people in completely different weight classes and measure this??

  • @zmyboo It called rigged in favor for the boxers lol.... even though they are very inefficient... they rely mainly on weight to help.

  • this is all wrong.

  • @pinoybernie nope haha

  • these moron did not account for the body weight of the fighters speed+mass=force

and the that the maui tai fighter held the dummy and allows you to put more force into the dummy where as the fighters did not. way to go science geeks. maybe you should hit he bag a couple a time a day instead of your keyboard.

  • @vyanez08 that is part of the art of muay thai retard by ur logic its not fair for the others to run and jump and

  • @DeathInGray only my dick is retarded because it has no brain. and still it is nonscientific to measure it that way. apparently you are a key board moron too.

  • Comment removed

  • @DeathInGray o fuck i didnt watch the rest of it till now nice

  • I wonder how much Bruce Lee's sidekick was?

  • They forgot to weigh the punchers. Fucktards.

  • the bigger the puncher? lool. MANNY PACQUIAO FU!!!!!

  • fuck this

  • knocking someone out is actually fairly easy to do, you just need to aim for the jaw line. it really doesn't take that much force to knock someone out

  • @Algastar but on a fully aware opponent who is dodging and hitting back, KOs r hard to do.

  • @ikcjjtt yeah i know, but i'm talking about the actual force required. if you land a good punch in the right place it doesn't need to have devastating power behind it

  • Not trying to start a argument but someone said this guy had over a 100 fights if you check on boxrec it shows 3 fights unless he fought out of the U.s. He does look like he knows what he is doing . Is he good? Who knows?

  • fuck these ads... 1billion people are pissed about this and yet fuckin youtube doesn't do anything about but makes it worse with MORE TIME on the ads... really? money has really fucked up the world these days.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo Youtube is one of the most popular sites on the web, They need to do this in order to keep it running.

  • @EmbracedSword or people will get pissed and leave youtube and youtube wont be so popular anymore :P

  • a bruce lee punch would not be that weak. bruce studied and had fights with pro boxers. he punches were boxings punches. and he didnt use that fly kick. thats useless in a real fight. bruce name shoudnt be used in this test. she had his own style

  • @cortezblz i agree bruce lee's name shouldnt have been brought in at all just because they are both pros in the same fighting style dosnt mean that they are equal in any way shape or form for example compare house to a normal doctor

    /thread

  • In boxing most knock outs are not the result of a Brain concussion but rather a spasmodic reactionof the Vestibular system that controls our sense of balance. The punch to the Jaw that Knocks many out. The jaw acts like a metal Beam that runs right to this sensitive area near the TMP..The initial impact Plus in some a vibration effect at the joint might account for the storied Glass Jaw..You might see a boxer these days doing JAW flexes and stretches to help prevent this disorienting effect.

  • "But could this single punch knock you out? Our scientists look for hard evidence. After reviewing literally thousands of fights over the last century we have come up with a definitive answer... the answer, right after this"

    Commercial break...

    "Yes."

    The End.

  • bigger guy bigger hit. bigger gloves bigger hit. the small guy didn't step in and hit this is stupid. the little guy weighs only like 150 lbs and didn't step into it. the big guy probably weighs like 300 and took a step. THUMBS UP IF THATS BULLSHIT

  • @sethfan1000000 Boxer was nowhere near 300 ibs. Brock Lesner isn't 300 lbs.

  • bigger gloves make bigger hit :D

  • People just ignore what that troll is writing he just is feeding off the responses.

  • I don't like this...Each person kicks harder or softer..if Bruce Lee did a Karate kick, he would have done it harder, is that to say that the Karate kick is the best? no, its just that he hit harder...I don't agree with these results. One guy kicking can't stand for the general martial art

  • They need to get their facts straight. That was not an inch punch. And all of their participants are not equal in terms of size, which does matter if you're looking for accurate information.

  • @Karateforlife777 TROLL TROLL TROLL TROLL go fuck yourself

  • @Karateforlife777 holy shit what a sick motherfucker.

  • @Karateforlife777 is that really true if so can you give me a link to it.

  • @Karateforlife777 your an idiot, truely very stupid. petramale is the greatest boxer of the 21 century. with over 200 wins and under 30 loses, he is truely qualified Idk where you found all this bullshit or if your stupid brain just came up with it on its own, but quite frankly, i dont care. Petramale literally means "Man of Stone" (petra=stone male=man in greek) And he easily lives up to that name. back in the day petramale knockout over 160 of his matches, at one point with a 100 knockout strk

  • i wounder if there all faster than my bullet lol

  • @WeazilBoy DONT B A PUSSY TAKE A ASS WOOPING LIKE A MAN

  • Bruce lee would have beat all the hits by alot

  • @Karateforlife777 thats slander and you could be sued did you know that im a boxer and muay thai fighter one of my students showed me this and i wanted to tell you that you can be sued in a civil suit for liabel and slander did you ever learn about the rules on the first amendment you idoT fucking Americans only FEW ARE worthy

  • @ThatKidMTL23 Shut the Fuck Up Petramale. Or whatever faggot cocksuker you are. Are you the queer currently raping petramale in the ass as he takes turns licking the shit off your dick? Must be queer.

And learn to spell homo. This is not my Native England, where libel laws are much more strict.

This is the Bloody USA and here you may speak your mind. I only speak the truth Pig Fucker. I hope you

get aids and die a slow painful death.

  • @Karateforlife777 in the us slander and liabel are both real your an uneducated idiot look up slander or liabel you fagget and i fuck women keybored warrior dont get mad cus me and petramale both have more going on in life and its sad youd have the thought of fucking animals i never thought anything like that you idiot because im not gayyyy like you

  • @Karateforlife777 haha how manly of you to slander people online behind the convenient anonymity!

  • @xodn3300 Whatever Faggot Pig Fucker..
