Original boats were the 45 series in Morgan. Moorings approached Beatrice Foods (who owned Morgan Yachts before Catalina took over the bankrupt operation in 1984) asking, "If we commit to a dozen initially, will you make our redesign?"
Morgan agreed, and the result is the 46, due to the addition of the anchor roller system. 47 461s, at least 114 462, and a single 463 were made.
The boat is not full keel....its a Modified fin with a skeg hung rudder. The keel is a Scheel Keel, which makes the boat act as if it had a deeper draft!
