@jpinson17 Well, you saw them get the Elite Eight in 2008-2009, which is just as far as they got in 2001-2002 and 1993-1994, so you've seen their best NCAA Tourney run.
'89-'90 Missouri Regulars: C Doug Smith 6,10 Jr. PF Nathan Buntin 6,9 Sr. SF John McIntyre 6,4 Sr. SG Anthony Peeler 6,4 So. PG Lee Coward 6,1 Sr. PG Travis Ford 5,11 Fr. SF Jamal Coleman 6,5 So. PF Jeff Warren 6,7 Fr. C Chris Heller 6,10 Fr. I might be forgetting one or two guys. It's too bad they faded down the stretch (especially Peeler) of that season and ended up being upset by #14 seed Northern Iowa in the NCAA's first round.
not saying mike anderson is at norms level but doesnt he remind you of him?He did what he could with the players he had and they pass the ball very well just like norms teams....
It is amazing how much less annoying Dick Vitale was back then. I met Peeler in Vegas about a month ago. This all brings back some great memories. I miss those great uniforms also.
we rock in football infact:i was hoping some hjow some way we could play those overated longhorns in the big 12 championship but no we had to play ou.
Missouri, my hat is off to you guys. I'm a lifetime KU fan, but the Tigers have the better football team this season. Chase Daniel kicked our butts. Good luck the rest of the season, and we'll try to stick it to you next year!
hey man thanks for tippin your hats to us ill be the first to say that quite unusual in this hated rivalry so one thing you gize had a great season to.
When this game happened i was living on the same floor as some of the players for MU. Watched the replay in Nate Buntin's room. Great, fuzzy memories!!!
Thanks for the memories. I was there on the court for that game (as a member of the team staff). It was great to have both AP and Doug Smith playing MU basketball at the same time. With all of the trouble we had had with NCAA infractions; Norms' medical problems; AP's issues and other things going on recently to that period, this game was very very sweet indeed. I miss being at the practices and seeing these guys do things you couldn't believe. Lots of memories
i didn't know missouri won both meetings that year..
man, screw duke and north carolina -- kansas and missouri is where it's at. the ultimate rivalry born from actual war. this is a rivalry of bloodshed. missouri just needs to get some recruits, that's all. then the world will be right again.
anyone have the whole game link for this? it would be greatly appreciated

I remember that 1990 Big Eight season: Kansas, Mizzou, and Oklahoma had great teams and were quite loaded in an awesome conference.
Astonishing that none of these teams made it to the Sweet 16 that year-

MIZZOU! :D

By KU's standards, Mizzou tea bagged them, Norm had a way to always find a way to knock Kansas off their pedestal.

Norms teams were so well coached. They always made the extra pass. He did so much with the players he got. Norm is the man!

Norm Stewart owned Roy Williams! If Norm was gay he could have tea-bagged Roy Williams any time he wanted too. Sorry but it's true.

It is unusual, but it's important to be classy. Yeah, I don't like the Tigers, but I have to admit they're the better team.

if both teams can run the table until then, we'll come pretty close to the equivalent of this in football this year.
