I'm still mourning my chow chow Bruce Lee since I had to put him to sleep four years ago come March. I remember putting him in theat truck right beofre they close the door and our eyes meant in it was such a clear moment to me that I would never see him again..I have not been able to bring myself to adopt or buy another dog becuase I have so much guilt about what happen to him when I handed him over to the shelter...I miss you Bruce Lee and will alway love you

@chowdudu That's absolutely not true. If you breed chows, you will know that chows get acclimatised within 2 weeks. Also, in the tropics, chows are just as active as those in the temperate region.

I had a chow chow for 14 yrs, we had to put him down this past June. It was so hard to let him go. Watching videos like these helps in the healing process. My family rescued a greyhound (another great breed) since his passing... Nothing can replace the love of a loyal chow chow...I still remember coming home on leave and having my chow chow greet me by running around a licking my face after months of being away! RIP Mikey...I love and miss you!!!!!

I love this video of your Chow....thank you for sharing! I had my Chow "Linus" until he was 14 then he passed from natural causes. He passed back in 97' and I haven't had a dog ever since as I still can't come to replace him. I have had many animals in my lifetime, though nothing can compare to my Chow. They are so amazing. @2bin I had one that lived until he was 14 and he died only because he was attacked by a coyote.We lived far in the country and he died on the way to the vet. Best dog I ever had. My mom told me that I had gotten out of the house when I was 2years old when my bro and sis were suppose to be watching me.I had walked far away from the house and a neighbor saw me with my dog and said he was protecting me from dogs n didnt even want my neighbor to approach us. He was only 10 months at the time!

I had a big Red Chow Chow for 12yrs, when his time came, tumors, hip dysplasia etc. it was one of the hardest things to do, that was 17yrs ago.

I do consider that our extended family members have just as much soul as we do, Absolutely.

I feel your pain, Norvegicus50. My dog had the hip thing too. He also had trouble seeing and heart problems..he was born in 1995 and I had to put him to sleep this year in June. I feel so guilty. I was there when they did it and held him. We wanted to bring him home when they were about to do it, but he couldn't walk any more, we had to lift him outside and he just slept and cried all nite of pain...dogs are really members of our families, when they die some people don't understand the pain.

That's a chow-chow brother, not some half-breed. If you actually own a chow or "chows" you can spot them right off the bat. Their not fat or chubby unless the owner make them that way. The typical height is medium but wide and muscular like little tanks.
