  • you changed it to 4:20! haha i knew it!

  • @edwlee78 You are the first person to notice this in the two and a half years this video has existed. Congratulations.

  • this was my favourite age....guess i liked to mess aroud with gears and stuff back in the days....XD

  • While you wrestling with the gear combination, I thought you were going to hit it just by chance on accident. (Even though you already knew it.)

  • for some reason this game freaks me out even thow i have played though the hole game before lol

  • @jellybean3264 I think I know why. The textures seem a bit off and environment is not quite the same as before! :D

  • "Wha-what, come on, pick it up," lol I love how you've been seemingly wrestling with items in your environment. (I also kinda sorta totally wish you'd read these books)

Showing off about prolonging the puzzle - hmm, no longer totally playing the fool, but this annoyed me at the time. heh. As for the ceiling rant... I agree with you.

When you say "And look at that!" I expected you to comment on the bird flying by and then you don't. Gets me every time.

  • drawing at a seem of a book sucks. So i buy ringed sketch books now and tape the pages together.

  • Half of a quarter...lol

  • there is an extra book.

  • Holography huh? Isn't that the original name for photography?

  • great walkthrough...but please shut the fuck up?!

  • @mariosthunders

This is a lets play... they are supposed to talk...

  • Ha ha, on the original Myst there's a glitch where the seagulls fly through the boat's sails.

  • Ti'ana is the name of Atrus Mother.

  • @DGLDCCG It's already been said that Ti'ana is Atrus' grandmother.

  • Did anyone notice that at 3:40 the clock tower says MYST on it?

  • i really like your casual, informative style. and btw, "i still wanna know what the jump key is...... sorry that was terrible" i disagree, it gave me a good chuckle. lol.

  • "how much damage did the book endure?"

"the burning damage is passable, but the pixels are beyond repair!"

  • I actually like reading in video games, like this example. Morrowind and Oblivion as well. Sometimes, it's important to understand something better and reading is the way to do it.

Some people may think that video games are meant to rot our brains, but I like to think that they can meant to enrich them too.

  • "Ziggy says you need to make Cathrine fall in love with you before you can jump!"

  • It be a shame if after moving the hands on the clock and crossing over, that some one else happens to hit the button so that you would be stuck there forever, even though you can probably jump back, with a running start of course.

  • You know what? I DON'T LIKE THIS CEILING XDXDXD

  • I feel like the aspect ratio is wrong in these videos. In fact I'm fairly certain it is.

  • Ti'ana is actually Atrus's mother. Atrus married a D'ni woman names K'trin, but Atrus kept getting her name mixed up with Catherine that he just stuck with the Englishized name.

  • I meant Ti'ana is actually Atrus's Grandmother.

  • @Penfold8 Actually Catherine isn't D'ni. She's Rivenese. You could learn more about how Atrus discovered her and her connection to Ghen in the game Riven. : )

  • Is this game scary in any way? The environment gives of a bit of a creepy aura

  • @YLS1989922 Nah, it's harmless. But you're not the first to think that.

  • @YLS1989922 Some scenes are a bit eerie indeed. First time I played I nearly jumped out of my skin the first time seeing Achenar... as well as when I opened that chest in his room on Mechanical with the dead monkey's head inside.

  • @YLS1989922 I got a bit creeped out when I turned on the alarm in stoneship age. It gives a bit of a creepy vibe while you're playing the games alone in the dark for the first time.

  • @YLS1989922 it sure as heck is lonely

  • @YLS1989922 It´s very creepy, indeed.

  • I've been playing uru:live while watching this.

I was WTFing when i heard a link-in-sound while watching you.

  • UFO in the sky at 7:51!

  • The music really makes the myst/uru series as much as the puzzles for me :)

  • @Blisterdude

My favourite music was in Riven, its a shame Robyn Miller hasn't really done anything other than Myst and Riven!

  • Ti'ana was atrus's first love i know this beause there is actualy a book called

    MYST The book of Ti'ana

  • @polikia22u

this is not the atrus from the myst-series.

the "aitrus" from the ti'ana book is the father from ghen.

    read the book man

  • @polikia22u A slight correction: Atrus is Anna's (Ti'ana's) grandson. Aitrus (not Atrus) is Anna's late husband before she dies herself. It's easy to confuse the grandfather Aitrus with the grandson Atrus, because their names are so similar.

  • I love how the flybys loop instead of circling at a particular location like in the other games...

  • I love this up coming part...It's so creepy! The music fits it!

  • it is the grafe of atrus his mother

  • I would think Sirrus would be the type to put the books back after burining them. Achenar is to mental fro a job like that ;-D

  • Achenar could be the OC type, though.

  • I head that Ti'ana was Catherine's mother or something and she was responsible for the fall of the D'ni. I heard that on another LP of Riven

  • I want to say she's the grandmother of Atrus.

  • Oh yeah thats right lol. Thanks for clearing that up :D

  • Yup, that's right. Ti'ana is Atrus's grandmother, Ghen's mother. Ti'ana is her D'ni name, however she mainly went by Anna. She raised Atrus after Ghen abandoned him at birth until Ghen came back to 'claim him' when Atrus was in his early teens. She lived with Atrus and Catherine on Myst after trapping Ghen on Riven.

  • Wow. What a dysfunctional family. Poor Atrus he had to go through so much crap with Gehn :'(

  • Yeah, Ti'ana is Atrus's grandmother. You can learn more about her by reading the Myst novels. I actually have Myst: The Book of Atrus. It was a good read and helps explain a lot of the background of the Myst series.

  • @shadyparadox Because she is.

  • @shadyparadox

You are correct, since she's the mother of Gehn. I believe there's a book that covers everything pre-Myst but I can't remember the name.

  • @TimmyTheNerd There's two. The "Book of Atrus" is pre-Myst, and the "Book of Ti'ana" is pre, uh, that last one. Then there's a post-Riven one called the "Book of D'ni". They've sold all three in an omnibus thingie, if you want to check those out. They're fascinating reads.

The Mechanical Age guide said the sky would turn from gray to blue when the natives' enemy was destroyed completely. ...yeah.

  • "but after burning them, someone carefully arranged the books back on the shelf" LOL good point

    huh. Ti'ana's grave..interesting!

  • this game brings back memories . . .

  • Im playing along with u with myst on my psp, and actually im solving this ahead of this video so tnx

  • 7:50

What the hell is that thing flying in the sky?!

    UFO? METEOR?

  • I'm pretty sure that's a seagull, programmed to look natural against a blue sky, but not necessarily a yellow one.

  • Or a flamingo? Swan? Ostrich? *bg*

  • @eedobaba7726 It´s a seagull. Shady is right

  • Mechanical Age is probably the creepiest age in the game because of those creepy paintings!

  • music is very creepy
