This album is so far advanced beyond today's modern pop crap that it is unquantifiable. NIN's work should literally shame all other metal and industrial bands currently in practice. Such lyrical and musical depth, they are unparalleled in the genre. I enjoy The Fragile as much as The Downward Spiral, but whichever NIN album you choose, you can be assured, it is superior to 95% of music releases today.

To all the crying, NIN is one of the greatest and influential groups ever (if Trent Reznor could be called a group that is). Everything from Pretty Hate Machine through The Fragile defined a generation and reinvented what music could become and Reptile is easily one of my 5 favorite NIN songs of all time.

That said, Skrillex is also bad ass and has picked up the teeth that NIN lost. First of the Year is proof of how bad ass he can be. And this is coming from a 35 year old who grew up with NIN.
