I have some information about the mystics of Tzfat and how they were trying to get this information out within the piyuttim. I'm writing a book about this. Was hoping you could help.
This is not a conspiracy theory. The Flavian Caesars confessed to inventing Jesus. The conspiracy was by the Caesars to undermine the Jewish messianic movement and quell the uprising.
yes I Have ready see it and all ican say about it is tht it is Another one of the Literaly Thousand of conspiracy theories..: in fact the Romans did had a secret cult of a god or whatever u want to name it.. but that god Has not anything to do with YAeshua o Jesua et Nazzartee the called christ.. sEE My videos please.;):.
@Throughthetruth The Romans who weren't privy to the invention of Christianity had trouble telling the difference between the Jews and the Christians, because both had a messianic outlook. When they interview the Christians and find out that their messianic hope is a heavenly or spiritual one, some of them don't see them as much of a threat in comparison to the Jews.
sure because this is not truth rabbitholecentral ..The History Doesn't Lie There are LITERALY.. hUNDRED OF Different hypotessis this is one more of them.. :X
For discussion sake, taken literally the works of that which calls itself 'god' 'jehovah' 'yaweh' et al, and that one which is labelled 'satan' et al throughout the scriptures, one will find if looking at it honestly some question as to just whom truly is evil and which of these 2 supposed opposites holds more evil sway upon mankind than the other. 'satan' looks to be no more than the tool of god. Pop quiz: Please name for us more than 3 instances of 'satan' doing evil to mankind in the Bible.
In reading the writings of Thomas Paine regarding religion in general and Christianity specifically, I find all I need know about this rotten religion and that evil tome called the Bible. You intellectualize well beyond neccesity when it comes to analyzing the Bible, Christianity. All that is needed to know is already known. The proof is in the proverbial pudding. This religion rots the very innards of a man and destroys him from the inside out, just as it was ruinous to Rome from the inside out.
Would a Jew tell another Jew to drink his blood? The whole story is a satire of the cannibalism that really did occur during the war. JC is born in a manger which animals eat from. The whole story is a sick cannibalism joke.
Why then is cannibalism completely absent from all the iconography related to the Last Supper, the Eucharist, Pieta groups etc.? Explain! Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence. And btw: Christ is not born in a manger, but in a stable. He's just presented to the world in a manger. The ox & ass are only in iconography & the late Pseudo-Matthew. But no matter if it's apocryphal or canonical: why is there not a trace of cannibalism in any of the Nativity images and iconography? Explain!
I'm not talking about Atwill's literary "analysis", but the ICONOGRAPHY. Can you show me images, which hint at the concept of cannibalism? If not, why then is cannibalism absent from early Christian imagery? Please read my posts before answering.
Atwill's a dishonest pseudoscientist. I already have an account, and I have sometimes watched the proceedings at his forum. When a forum member started asking intelligent questions that actually shook his "theory" (which is easy btw, because it's not scientific), he was banned. Even scholars like Avalos were debated to death with irrelevant babble by Atwill's brownnosers. It's a bunch of very typical conspiracy theorists... major characteristics: anti-Roman, anti-Christian, pro-Jewish, biased.
@ImperatorAquila Atwill's forum isn't pro-Jewish, unless you define "pro-Jewish" as giving Jews a fucking break for a change. If anything, it is pro-atheist or pro-agnostic.
You must have problems with reading comprehension.
Then you should read John 6:53-55 where Jesus says that his followers should 'eat his flesh' and 'drink his blood'. That is symbolic cannibalism. This was called the eucharist by the Catholics and 'the lords supper' by the Protestants.
The Eucharist is based on the Last Supper, and it's clearly stated that the Christ refers to bread and wine as flesh and blood. I would agree that this is surely of Roman ("pagan") origin, and might also refer to the sacrifice of a victim (i.e. an animal) but I don't see any indication anywhere that the Evangelist meant this as a "symbolic cannibalism". And you are still evading the answer to my question: if it IS cannibalism, why isn't there any trace of it in iconography?
Bread & wine were very prominent at all the Roman fertility festivals, e.g. the Liberalia (March 17th). And that Christ was often syncretized as a vegetation god, is well-known. At the same day btw was Agonium Martiale, where a sacrificial lamb was offered to the highest god: its blood was used in liturgy. And also: the Romans identified the sacrificial bread with seed in general, i.e. also a man's seed (semen) = the body. If anything, the Eucharist is a huge Christian bukkake orgy. (Serious!)
Early christians were ichonoclasts = no early ichonography. Latter rappresentations lost the original meaning that is preserved in the writings (this is my blood etc.) which is likely derived from Greek pagan traditions.
"Early Christians" did have iconography. Lots. They weren't iconoclasts. Just look at the sarcophagi, the amulets and catacombs and so on and so forth. Still, they show not even a hint of cannibalism, nowhere. And if you talk "Greek pagan traditions", you have to say "Roman" or at least "Graeco-Roman", because Rome was everywhere. And everything Greek had been assimilated by the Roman religion, e.g. the Dionysian cults. So yeah, we have bread/blood/sacrifice: very pagan, but also very *Roman*.
You'll find the full version of this video on Google video. The 5 minute clip does not do this subject justice enough to comment until you understand Atwill's thesis fully.
So what? Even 50 minutes wouldn't do the trick. I'm not saying that everything Atwill writes is wrong, but: 1) Has he been endorsed by other scholars? All I know atm is that he's widely criticized: Avalos, Carrier, Price etc. 2) Has he published his theory in a peer-reviewed journal? 3) Has he given lectures at universities or at scientific symposia? 4) Does he counter the personalization of his theory? 5) Has he reduced the bias and vagueness of his selections?
a) What does "billiant" mean? Did you mean "brilliant"? I can't recall those three calling him "brilliant". (?) b) So as a "literary analyst" he's not "subject to peer review"? You're basically saying that Atwill is un- or pseudo-scientific! Or will they simply not allow him to submit sth. for peer review and this is just a sorry excuse? c) "bias of selection" is not religious but scientific bias, e.g. cherrypicking sources etc. But since he's not a scientist, it doesn't really apply, does it?
Which war against Rome? The final Jewish revolt was because Hadrian outlawed circumsision and ended with the destruction of The Temple and Diaspora. GET IT INTO YOUR HEADS THE ROMANS DID NOT NEED TO FIGHT A PROPOGANDA TYPE WAR, THERE WAS NO NEED THE JEWISH REVOLT WAS PUT DOWN..
Wrong. There are many theories on the cause of the last insurrection; cp. the Jewish online encyclopedia: a) Roman insult of a bridal couple (Talmud); b) erection of the new temple (Dio; Eusebius et al. see the temple construction as a RESULT of the uprising); c) ban of circumcision (Spartian); d) Christians rejecting the circumcision forced on them by the Jews OR Christians fighting against the tortures inflicted on them by the Jews (Christian authors) etc.
And btw: the last insurrection had been planned for a long time. Bar Kozeba and his thugs probably just waited for the first occasion that they could sell as a "cause" and a "sacrilege". They were something like the "Hamas of antiquity".
Of course there was more than one gospel! 4 canonical and lots of apocryphal ones. You write "gospel" with a small "g" (like in my 1st sentence above) if you mean "a gospel" or "gospels" in a general sense. You write the singular "Gospel" with a capital "G" EITHER if you mean a specific one like "The Gospel of Mark" (in this case only in connection with the author) OR if you mean the "story of the Gospel", the "Gospel narrative" etc. Same with other words: "evangelists" vs. "the Evangelist".
Oh dear what a load of rubbish. The Caesars had no need to produce a false Testament. The campaign resulted in the destruction of Judaea and the Diaspora. To think that an Emperor had to create a false myth to subjucate a nation is absurd, there are no expamples of it being used elsewhere and is totally unnesseary. Oh and by the way Christain martyrdom did not take place in the Coloseum but predominatly in the Circus Maximus next to the Aventine Hill.
We are talking specifically about Nero and the Flavians, who were Caesars at a time when Jews were able to wipe out a whole Legion of the Roman Army. Josephus specifically says that this unsettled Nero significantly.
To conquer IDEAS you have to use other IDEAS.
Judea wasn't destroyed. There were still Jews, even in Jerusalem. The Diaspora certainly was not destroyed, because that's where we got the Talmud.
There was no need to destroy Judeism as long as the state was destroyed the Romans were happy ( a very practical people). Besides which Jews could be made into slaves (what the Arabs want now). There was no legion stationed in Judaea the nearest was in Syria. The other "messiahs" were not "The Messiah" ergo only "He" could redeem mankind and found "The Faith".
You clearly have very little understanding of even today's Judaism, much less the highly Messianic forms of Judaism that existed in the 1st Century.
Tell me, will destroying Afghanistan or Iraq wipe out Islam?
Why do you think there is so much dialogue and media-sanctioned hate-speech against Muslims in this country? It's because the Establishment realizes they need to attack an ideology.
Comment: The 7 Noahide Laws or the Rainbow Covenant was given to Noah and his children after the flood and regiven to the non-Jews at Mount Sinai. The Children of Israel were given the 613 and the 10 Commandments, any thing else for a non-Jew to follow would be not proper. The Children of Israel were given the task of being a light unto the nations and to teach all those 7 laws of Noah which is embedded in the 613 laws.
hahah jesus was invented. good one retard. everyone knows its a fact a historical fact that jesus was REAL. whether he was the son of god or a just a human we know for a fact that he was real N not a myth. and no there was no christians who were militaristic bcuz the gospel forbids voilence so they follwed someone who preached obedience to authority unless it interefing with ur worship to the real god, which the romans were and therefore killed anyone who didnt believe in their pagan gods!
So which of the at least 6 unique historical Jesuses mentioned in Flavius Josephus' history of the 1st Century do you believe was the "Jesus" of the "New Testament"?
This would mean that the Romans initiated a brand new religion that would ultimately become adopted also by themselves? If they really invented the teaching of Jesus in order to "pacify" militant Jews, why include Gentiles in this teaching, setting thus a "trap" for other citizens, such as Cesar worshipers?
I always felt that the Jews knew much more about their own boy (Jesus) than the Christians ever could. Joseph Atwill kinda proves it... But does it mean that Christianity, having destroyed the known world, will have to disintegrate now and vanish... What will poor Tony Blair say? And Bush? And poor Bene 16? Those poor cats will have no spiritual adivser! Joseph Atwill, you're a Godsend!
Anyone can say anything they want. That doesn't mean they are factual statements. The facts speak otherwise as anyone who has seriously and carefully looked at the issue would know.
peter was an eyewitness chosen by "Yahushua" and he called Pauls letter scripture. Jesus appeared to Paul and this accounts for his transformation, and "his" gospel is ONLY an unpacking of what Jesus already taught, agreed by the disciples as being an apostle of Christ. So while you may want to claim that Paul takes us away from Jesus and has a different gospel the apostles and Jesus disagrees with you. Who should I believe? I think I'll go with Jesus thanks..Jesus warned against people like u.
i follow Yahushua's words so mock me you are mocking a true believer it id ok because Yahushua said if they mock me they will mock you too. I Love him so I obey my Father's commands do you? We are not Perfect that is why we need Yahushua's perfect sacrifice.
Please deal w my arguments. Jesus appeared to Paul so HE chose him as the apostle to the gentiles. Peter was chosen by the same Jesus u claim to follow which means JESUS selected him too as one through whom the words of the NT would come via the Holy Spirit and he said Pauls words are scripture..so either deal with my arguments or acquiesce..which is it?
Torah nowhere says that if you sin you need a human being to be sacrificed for you. In fact, a poor man can receive atonement by offering a grain offering. NO BLOOD!
I agree w both and all are imperfect which is why we all need Jesus perfection to cover us.thats not what I was arguing against. If u love Jesus why not accept who HE appointed as apostles and instruments of the NT SCRIPTURE=Words of God? In what way are Pauls writings different from Jesus'?
Perhaps the reason the jews after Christ were rebelling was because they rejected Scripture along w rejecting the divine messiah Christ, saw this life as the only thing, as opposed to seeing dying for christ as something noble and good? Remember even the apostles thought the Messiah was supposed to take out the Romans but were wrong. What is your point?
So did the caesers write all the gospels or just the 4 accepted by the confence of nicea in 327AD? And i suppose they wrote the acts and invented st. Paul too. Lol complete and utter BS
The decaying Roman Empire invented Jesus the Christ out there in Palestine as a controlling mechanism to keep their power. Romans and the Pharisees had driven the "have-nots" so low that a critical need arose for a new manifestation independant of Roman tradition and Judaic tradition that would continue to force them to travel thru the "eye of the needle". The "irregularness" of Christ was to bring to bring the propensity of the "have-nots" up to where they needed to be continually batted down.
Uhh then why do we see extra biblical confirmation of not only 300 yrs of persecution of Christians and the church, questions on how Rome were to deal with Christians who would not bow to Caesar as a deity, how Christianity puts a God ABOVE and beyond Rome to which Rome was accountable to?
While that was evil for them to do, it was done in direct opposition to the teachings of Christ, where as the Roman persecution was directed at the church in a way that's completely consistent w their low view of humans as objects and those who didn't see caesar as God were tortured and killed with pleasure. Thats what they believed thats what they did. Jesus on the other hand said love your enemies not go kill people who don't believe.
Which proves they did not take the teachings of jesus seriously.Think about this why is it in the bible Jews are not seen as a threat but in the history of that time Jews were rebelling against there roman oppressors.
Some did not youre right. The BIble talks about people with a said faith rather than a real faith. That is they SAY theyre believers and followers of the Lord but are actually not. Pretenders. Being pacifists vs those who believe in self defense is not an essential of the christian faith but rather is a secondary debate among believers.
I'm sorry if I come off as a "know it all", but if you are criticizing that I try to know what i'm talking about before I talk about it I don't know what you're criticizing. If I acted like usual professing christians who are ignorant about what they claim to believe then I'd hear I'm a moron..so I'd rather error the other way.
The "REAL Roman Relationship to Christians" was that the Christians did "not" worship Pagan Gods nor see Ceasar as one, this would errode their power. Christians were passivists...
Roman Cesars were carrying out the wishes of the minority of Corrupt Jewish leaders which Herod put in power after killing off the holy just Leaders that denounced Herods sins... Remember that the Romans weren't chasing Jesus around to kill him it was the Pharisses.
Ha, how ignorant, Roman Cesar guilty of declaring Jesus was just and then turn around and Killing Him is illogical. Won't even waste time moving forward in the analogy.
Old clever ideas in new package. Everyone wants to reinvent history. Btw, the idea is already refuted by Peter: "We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty." (2 Pet 1:16). Concerning this message being from eyewitnesses, also see 1Joh 1:1; Luke 1:1-4; Joh 19:35.
And Paul went before King Aggrippa and claimed they all knew what happened because it didn't happen behind cosed doors. No protesters to that ..and just the fact that they went out FROM the very area these things were purported to have occurred and it survived was beyond impossible if it wasn't true.
God bless you Mr Atwill. Finally the truth is breaking free about this Roman death cult.

Never heard of Christians being militaristic during that time.
Being militaristic was against their religion.
Nowhere in Acts are they portrayed as militaristic.
Where does he get this from?

This is not a conspiracy theory. The Flavian Caesars confessed to inventing Jesus. The conspiracy was by the Caesars to undermine the Jewish messianic movement and quell the uprising.

Cliner97 3 years ago
Would a Jew tell another Jew to drink his blood? The whole story is a satire of the cannibalism that really did occur during the war. JC is born in a manger which animals eat from. The whole story is a sick cannibalism joke.
maxousdirector 3 years ago
Why then is cannibalism completely absent from all the iconography related to the Last Supper, the Eucharist, Pieta groups etc.? Explain! Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence. And btw: Christ is not born in a manger, but in a stable. He's just presented to the world in a manger. The ox & ass are only in iconography & the late Pseudo-Matthew. But no matter if it's apocryphal or canonical: why is there not a trace of cannibalism in any of the Nativity images and iconography? Explain!
ImperatorAquila 3 years ago
If you don't see cannibalism in the Eucharist you aren't even looking. Go back and read Caesar's Messiah.
rodephemet 3 years ago
I'm not talking about Atwill's literary "analysis", but the ICONOGRAPHY. Can you show me images, which hint at the concept of cannibalism? If not, why then is cannibalism absent from early Christian imagery? Please read my posts before answering.
ImperatorAquila 3 years ago
You can ask Atwill himself if you go to his forum. He does reply himself.
rodephemet 3 years ago
Atwill's a dishonest pseudoscientist. I already have an account, and I have sometimes watched the proceedings at his forum. When a forum member started asking intelligent questions that actually shook his "theory" (which is easy btw, because it's not scientific), he was banned. Even scholars like Avalos were debated to death with irrelevant babble by Atwill's brownnosers. It's a bunch of very typical conspiracy theorists... major characteristics: anti-Roman, anti-Christian, pro-Jewish, biased.
ImperatorAquila 3 years ago
@ImperatorAquila Atwill's forum isn't pro-Jewish, unless you define "pro-Jewish" as giving Jews a fucking break for a change. If anything, it is pro-atheist or pro-agnostic.
You must have problems with reading comprehension.
IWannabeJew 8 months ago
Then you should read John 6:53-55 where Jesus says that his followers should 'eat his flesh' and 'drink his blood'. That is symbolic cannibalism. This was called the eucharist by the Catholics and 'the lords supper' by the Protestants.
Rachav 3 years ago
The Eucharist is based on the Last Supper, and it's clearly stated that the Christ refers to bread and wine as flesh and blood. I would agree that this is surely of Roman ("pagan") origin, and might also refer to the sacrifice of a victim (i.e. an animal) but I don't see any indication anywhere that the Evangelist meant this as a "symbolic cannibalism". And you are still evading the answer to my question: if it IS cannibalism, why isn't there any trace of it in iconography?
ImperatorAquila 3 years ago
Bread & wine were very prominent at all the Roman fertility festivals, e.g. the Liberalia (March 17th). And that Christ was often syncretized as a vegetation god, is well-known. At the same day btw was Agonium Martiale, where a sacrificial lamb was offered to the highest god: its blood was used in liturgy. And also: the Romans identified the sacrificial bread with seed in general, i.e. also a man's seed (semen) = the body. If anything, the Eucharist is a huge Christian bukkake orgy. (Serious!)
ImperatorAquila 3 years ago
Early christians were ichonoclasts = no early ichonography. Latter rappresentations lost the original meaning that is preserved in the writings (this is my blood etc.) which is likely derived from Greek pagan traditions.
ThisOneIsTaken 3 years ago

The 5 minute clip does not do this subject justice enough to comment until you understand Atwill's thesis fully.
maxousdirector 3 years ago
ImperatorAquila 3 years ago
Neither Avalos, Carrier or Price were able to debate Atwill with any real criticism. They all call him billiant.
Atwill is not an academic, he is a literary analyst and not subject to peer review.
I see no bias since he was a Jesuit student. There is no vagueness of his theory. He spells it out in complete detail, which other scholars can not.
maxousdirector 3 years ago
a) What does "billiant" mean? Did you mean "brilliant"? I can't recall those three calling him "brilliant". (?) b) So as a "literary analyst" he's not "subject to peer review"? You're basically saying that Atwill is un- or pseudo-scientific! Or will they simply not allow him to submit sth. for peer review and this is just a sorry excuse? c) "bias of selection" is not religious but scientific bias, e.g. cherrypicking sources etc. But since he's not a scientist, it doesn't really apply, does it?
ImperatorAquila 3 years ago
Which war against Rome? The final Jewish revolt was because Hadrian outlawed circumsision and ended with the destruction of The Temple and Diaspora. GET IT INTO YOUR HEADS THE ROMANS DID NOT NEED TO FIGHT A PROPOGANDA TYPE WAR, THERE WAS NO NEED THE JEWISH REVOLT WAS PUT DOWN..
bardi7 3 years ago
ImperatorAquila 3 years ago
And btw: the last insurrection had been planned for a long time. Bar Kozeba and his thugs probably just waited for the first occasion that they could sell as a "cause" and a "sacrilege". They were something like the "Hamas of antiquity".

Titus? The Christ a myth? The Gospel a fake? A satire? Gimme a break! Atwill will remain a footnote.
"Jesus" = Divus Iulius! The historical Jesus was Julius Caesar. Francesco Carotta has all the answers.
ImperatorAquila 3 years ago
What do you mean "The Gospel"? There was more than one!
minorityop 3 years ago
Of course there was more than one gospel! 4 canonical and lots of apocryphal ones. You write "gospel" with a small "g" (like in my 1st sentence above) if you mean "a gospel" or "gospels" in a general sense. You write the singular "Gospel" with a capital "G" EITHER if you mean a specific one like "The Gospel of Mark" (in this case only in connection with the author) OR if you mean the "story of the Gospel", the "Gospel narrative" etc. Same with other words: "evangelists" vs. "the Evangelist".
ImperatorAquila 3 years ago
Oh dear what a load of rubbish. The Caesars had no need to produce a false Testament. The campaign resulted in the destruction of Judaea and the Diaspora. To think that an Emperor had to create a false myth to subjucate a nation is absurd, there are no expamples of it being used elsewhere and is totally unnesseary. Oh and by the way Christain martyrdom did not take place in the Coloseum but predominatly in the Circus Maximus next to the Aventine Hill.
bardi7 3 years ago
We are talking specifically about Nero and the Flavians, who were Caesars at a time when Jews were able to wipe out a whole Legion of the Roman Army. Josephus specifically says that this unsettled Nero significantly.
To conquer IDEAS you have to use other IDEAS.
Judea wasn't destroyed. There were still Jews, even in Jerusalem. The Diaspora certainly was not destroyed, because that's where we got the Talmud.
minorityop 3 years ago
There was no need to destroy Judeism as long as the state was destroyed the Romans were happy ( a very practical people). Besides which Jews could be made into slaves (what the Arabs want now). There was no legion stationed in Judaea the nearest was in Syria. The other "messiahs" were not "The Messiah" ergo only "He" could redeem mankind and found "The Faith".
bardi7 3 years ago

This would mean that the Romans initiated a brand new religion that would ultimately become adopted also by themselves? If they really invented the teaching of Jesus in order to "pacify" militant Jews, why include Gentiles in this teaching, setting thus a "trap" for other citizens, such as Cesar worshipers?

paul and christianity takes us away from Yahushua. He preaches a different gospel
I am so glad that even though at one time I trusted paul as true I loved Yahushua's words more and I was able to see that Paul is false.
memories4me 4 years ago
peter was an eyewitness chosen by "Yahushua" and he called Pauls letter scripture.
Dominick7 4 years ago
i follow Yahushua's words so mock me you are mocking a true believer it id ok because Yahushua said if they mock me they will mock you too. I Love him so I obey my Father's commands do you? We are not Perfect that is why we need Yahushua's perfect sacrifice.
memories4me 4 years ago
Please deal w my arguments. Jesus appeared to Paul so HE chose him as the apostle to the gentiles. Peter was chosen by the same Jesus u claim to follow which means JESUS selected him too as one through whom the words of the NT would come via the Holy Spirit and he said Pauls words are scripture..so either deal with my arguments or acquiesce..which is it?
Dominick7 4 years ago
Torah nowhere says that if you sin you need a human being to be sacrificed for you. In fact, a poor man can receive atonement by offering a grain offering. NO BLOOD!
minorityop 3 years ago
I agree w both and all are imperfect which is why we all need Jesus perfection to cover us.thats not what I was arguing against. If u love Jesus why not accept who HE appointed as apostles and instruments of the NT SCRIPTURE=Words of God? In what way are Pauls writings different from Jesus'?

Perhaps the reason the jews after Christ were rebelling was because they rejected Scripture along w rejecting the divine messiah Christ, saw this life as the only thing, as opposed to seeing dying for christ as something noble and good?

Dominick7 4 years ago
And how long did the church persecute people who did not accept jesus.
juglord 4 years ago
While that was evil for them to do, it was done in direct opposition to the teachings of Christ, where as the Roman persecution was directed at the church in a way that's completely consistent w their low view of humans as objects and those who didn't see caesar as God were tortured and killed with pleasure. Thats what they believed thats what they did. Jesus on the other hand said love your enemies not go kill people who don't believe.
Dominick7 4 years ago
Which proves they did not take the teachings of jesus seriously.Think about this why is it in the bible Jews are not seen as a threat but in the history of that time Jews were rebelling against there roman oppressors.

Some did not youre right. The BIble talks about people with a said faith rather than a real faith. That is they SAY theyre believers and followers of the Lord but are actually not. Pretenders. Being pacifists vs those who believe in self defense is not an essential of the christian faith but rather is a secondary debate among believers.
