you fill gasoline in the bamboo cannon and let it burn for a while - the bamboo heats up, causing the gasoline to vaporize (it's the vapor that explodes, not the liquid). the explosion causes the bamboo to get even hotter, so the cannon get's better with every shot ;)
@ploebvideo does it work in metal pipe? like the diameter of the hole size is 2 and 1 half and its 2 feet and 6 inches long is that thing would work? and gasoline is good right? pls comment me back ASAP
@uSee218 I see no reason why it should not work in metal pipe as well. the pipe is open on the front side, closed on the back side, an a little hole on the upper side near the back side.
The bamboo cane has lamallae inside, which you have to remove (with a long stick), except the last one at the back side ;)
I guess the size does not matter too much - but you have to try yourself, I'm no "expert" on this ;)
in Batangas City Philippines we also have a Bamboo Cannon we call it Boom Boom, but now we use PVC. I think PVC cannon is now ban here in Batangas City Philippines since 2006.
we call these babies in the Philippines "lantaka", can be made of bamboo, steel pipes, and recently PVC, kids these days no longer want to carve bamboo.

We made bamboo canons during Christmas and New Years in the Philippines too. We used to put cans as ammos. You can make a smaller canon from taped up aluminum cans too. Use lighter fluid.

In our place we use large milk cans connected together to form a long cannon. We use the cheaper as safer calcium carbide as fuel.

its so easy to do that even street kids can do their own.
