@tuxi187 M7 is my fav scent ever. I got Black Aoud just to try a new one after wearing M7 for so many years and cant get it. Too much ROSE in it. Just plain strong dark ROSE. Very simple and very boring to me. I will stick to vintage original M7 or even the new M7.

black aoud is beyond great (G) I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!! I am the only 16 year old rocking this at my school, but its very hard to get this perfume from where i am...great job on the review marc !!!

Have you smelled Montale's Red Vetyver yet? Admittedly I don't seem to be a fan of Aoud, but I think Red Vetyver blows Black, Lime and Red Aoud away completely.

I´m a lady and I love wearing BA :-) Yes, true, you need to be confident and know how to wear such a scent :-) The first 10 minutes are indeed harsh and hard to bear but the scent will settle down. It is essential to use it in smallet amounts only.

Black Aoud was the 2nd oud scent I got to know (1st : White Aoud) and after BA all other oud frags seem soft and watery :-)

like is more for a women who is already set in life. a women who is mature but playful too. i find it to brighter rather than dark and mysterious. i would only wear this for its drydown. i find it too mature for me but still a good fragrance with fantastic longevity and sillage.

I have to admit, watching your video almost convinces me to like this, but my first impression of it was "yuck". Very floral to me. it reminds me a lot of ladies perfume . I really can't stand this stuff lol. usually I agree with u, This one though I differ with the master

This stuff is very popular in Dubai /Gulf , because these heavy Arabic/Indian based parfums have been part of the wealthy there for hundreds of years.

This was way too floral & feminine for me imho, i sampled it in London a few months ago, because of the high price i banged out about 15 sprays around my neck while no1 was watching, big mistake, it was still on me the next day even after a shower lol.

Hey, great review. Just a few points:

I think it's called a clip, not a stopper xP.

Montale's go for 100-150 for a 100ml, your $200+ price is a little exaggerated.

And yeah if you want to get in the Oud world, montale's are a great place to start, and one of the brands you're unlikely to go wrong with. Their fragrances are strong, well done for what they are, slightly synthetic compared to other middle eastern perfumes that go for the same price, but until you visit the middle east...

Black Aoud is wonderful. It's very strong - smells very rich and mysterious.

Marc, if you can, try out Royal Aoud - it's so awesome and unique. Also, these non-Aouds from Montale: Greyland and Patchouli Leaves are very good.
