SATC producers are known to throw off their audience so none of film gets leaked. They did the same thing for the series finale. If you have season 6 on DVD...they say they had alternate endings to throw people off in the DVD extras.

the point of Big's actions was the fact that he couldn't seem to open his heart, not just to be purposely shitty, there's a difference imo, so at the end Big finally decided he was ready to open his heart and give it to Carrie(its about time) Personally I think him leaving her at the alter is implausable, why would he do that again at this point. Its almost like he had an epiphany when she left for paris, realizing he could lose her forever if he didnt do something.
