  • Hey Jordan, how long did it take to orchestrate this? That's gotta be way more time consuming than writing parts for your bandmates, no?

Also, does anyone know if these musicians are part of El Sistema? For those that don't know, Venezuela of all countries actually produces countless talented classical young musicians in an effort to get them away from street violence (i.e. Gustavo Dudamel, who was appointed music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the age of 26!)

  • @JacobSteuer Yes, all those musicians are part of El Sistema. I'm one of them =)

And Eren Basbug, our condcutor and orchestrator to ALL songs performed that night on the concert, told the orchestra it took him like one and a half year to orchestrate Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence and about three months to orchestrate Explorations. Jordan, if you're out there, correct me if I'm wrong =)

  • Hoooll!!

  • congratulations!! de pinguisimaaa!! XD

  • PLEASE COME TO COLOMBIA!!! I BEG YOU!

  • That guy in the black suit is the new drummer.

  • You're really amazing Jc Rudess!

  • Were you there, Mr. Rudess? (-:

  • Jordan I hope that you release a CD of Explorations with orchestra and with two pianos, the two versions were so fantastic. I know that this may be a silly request from a superfan but please don't let the world exist without some recording of your amazing job. You're the best musician in the world

  • Thank you Jordan and Eren for that incredible experience... We will never forget you and we're looking forward to play your fantastic music again!

  • I was there!

  • I wonder if there will be some changa tucky remix of explorations,p that would be nice.

  • @Chacarron2006 un remix de changa tuki no estaria mal HAHAHAHHA xD

  • I can hear that characteristic Venezuelan Accent that I grew up listening "Ex-Plo-rashion!!!", Damn Jordan you couldn't have picked a worst time to play in that country.

  • Comment removed

  • @IamtheSalman why do u say that? why was that a bad time to play? is never a bad time for us to see Jordan playing here.

  • @missghotica porq el ya no vive aqui, supongo

  • @missghotica Because I moved from Venezuela last year. I missed it :(

  • @IamtheSalman dont worry. i missed the show too, but i got to meet him, and he is AMAZING.and so is Eren.

  • @missghotica Now you're making me even more jealous :\

  • @IamtheSalman dont be, u will have the chance too!

  • Jordan, be nice and share some of the cake with us.

  • Woooot!

  • HEEEELL YEAAAAH.. thank you all guys for make that experience, i know everyone of you will remember this event forever.. and particulary one of you will have art in his body in memory of this concert.. CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERY ONE OF YOU!!

PD.. That flautist is my best friend xD

  • U NEED TO POST THE VID OF U PLAYING THAT SONG LIVE!!!!!

  • CONGRATS!!!!

  • So frustrated that I might never get to hear explorations. It's eating me.

  • It's funny...after seeing Harry Potter 7, that baton looked like a wand...I might be going crazy xD

  • @kpdalb I thought so too. Well more along the lines of the stick being a wand because of the fact that Jordan himself was a wizard and they're posing for him.

  • I was there!!! Thanks Jordan! for a great evening!

  • @axelcd1 any chance you have any videos of the show? Would love to hear it.....

  • @metropofreak Unfortunately not my friend :( they didn´t let the audience to take photos or filming... But I´m sure that there will be some official material soon :)

  • oww i want to see that

  • Man, someday I'll compose and perform with them too!

  • THANK YOU GUYS!!!!! THANK YOU JORDAN, EREN, ADOLFO, JOSÉ, AND EVERYONE AT THE ORCHESTRA. I was blown away with your concerto!!!! It was so amazing watching the guys from the orchestra feeling and enjoying the songs, it must have been magical to play along Master Rudess!!!!! I was particullary glad seeing the flautist singing all the "Six Degrees" songs and playing the drums virtually from his seat =)

    YOU ALL ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Me enorgullece ver que una orquesta sinfónica de Venezuela haga un super concierto con un tecladista de una banda de otro país muy famosos en el mundo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think it's sad that Jordan has to go out of his country because there is a bigger market for his music there. I wish Americans would take their musical shackles hoisted on them by radio and major media and started listening to better music.

I don't mean to rip on pop music or anything, but it's just really frustrating that most of my favorite artists are spending most of their time overseas, rather than in a country of 300 million throwing amazing shows!

  • @steamidjf I'm sure its more that there is no affordable way of putting on a talented orchestra in a decent venue in the US. Also the conductor seemed to be a key factor so it made sense to go to him and an orchestra he was able to prepare. Not sure that lack of interest in the US is the whole reason for it (although surely there is some aspect of it)

  • @steamidjf I wish you were right about that "artits doing lots of concerts overseas", but being brazilian, all I can say is that there are a LOT more interesting concerts going on in the US than there are anywere in Latin America.

  • @steamidjf Market?, that's nonsense, he has market on USA he likes Venezuela and Venezuelan musician, taht's why he came here. Also I suspect he has some pretty woman around here too.

  • @steamidjf I'll tell you something, don't come in France if you think US people are musicaly closed minded... Here in France, this is waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy worse! :(

  • @steamidjf come on dude, shar jordan with the world

  • @steamidjf What's worse is that it's a leftist dictatorship.

  • when do we get hear explorations, jordan? :)

  • MAGIC! EXCELENTE!!!!!!

  • Excellent performance! that was an amazing experience, Eren was perfect, Rudess epic like always and the lead violin was petrucci-like but woman version! epic night! and epic performance

  • @ZMekaniK hahaha excuseee meee!!! please do not COMPARE THE GREAT MASTER PETRUCCI WITH THE LEAD VIOLIN OF THAT ORCHESTRA!!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO JORDAN AND THE CHACAO ORCHESTRA BUT YOU SHOULDN´T SAY SOMETHING THAT ANY VENEZUELAN MUSICIAN KNOWS IT IS NOT REAL!!!! THANK YOU

  • @espartana1987 Agree, actually the weak point of the orchesta was the lead violin, it was laughable in some points. Hear the original version with the turkish orchesta and now that's a good lead violin, however, the orchesta as a whole was awesome good.

  • @Chacarron2006

some1 is mad cause hes not in the orchesta :S

  • I was there... and all I can say: MAGIC

  • Thanks for an amazing experience! I want to congratulate to the lead violin for such a cool performance on the solos! You rock!

  • I wanna see the performance!!! Hope it is recorded somewhere.

  • AND THE NEXT DRUMMER FOR DT IS......

  • @skumbuck

    Lay off the Wizard, man.

  • @GrizCC When Kevin Moore left, they announced his touring replacement Shrenian within a week. When Derek was asked to leave, they announced Jordan taking over on Keys IMMEDIATELY, but we have been waiting 2 months since the drum auditions, and you know they made their decision within a week or two of that. So yes, almost 2 months and dead silence. I didn't subscribe to the internet for such well kept secrets, dammit! ;)

  • @skumbuck

Yeah, but man this isn't the appropriate place, I mean, this isn't even a Dream Theater video.

  • @GrizCC fair enough man, you're right. Peace

  • @skumbuck

    Peace.

  • I wish I could have gone! I hope it gets recorded and released so I can enjoy it!

  • i want to see DVD frov this concert!!!!!

  • I will sum up all the evening in this way: I WANT to hear explorations again. I hope that someday Jordan put this in a Record, even better if it is the last night concert. But I'll be very pleased just hearing it again.

What a genious both of they are! This is the second time also that I watch that orchestra playing and they still awesome.

  • dude you are my hero jordan

  • Dear Jordan, If there is no DVD release for Explorations, I swear to God I'll call for John Petrucci, so he can rip out my heart and feed it to the dragons.

  • Explorations for Keyboard and Orchestra was an amazing experience. I hope Jordan take this show to other countries, you need to see it!

  • The exploration for keyboard and orchesta is powerful, epic and emotional. Maybe is the song with the most meter changes I've heard in my whole life haha, the orchesta is perfectly arranged and sounds so powerful you gotta see to believe. The third movement theme is very emotional and a perfect ending to the masterpiece.

  • I didn't see both concerts but the first one, Jordan played an impressive intro, then he talked a little bit, then came six degrees, then spirit carries on with a very nice cello player from the orchesta who was literally headbanging the whole concert while playing the cello!. Then came jamming with the drummer and after that with a guy from c4trio, then it finished with explorations. Was second concert different in any way?

  • Come take a Sun in Rio today!!!!!

  • lol too many people o.O :P

  • awesume

more impressions from that show pleese

  • his name is eren basbug (başbuğ) not basburg

  • Really hope it went well. What am I saying?? Of course it went well =)
