S. Prokofiev and I. Stravinsky hated one another. Prokofiev (who I worship) once waited backstage just to tell his opinion to Stravinski (who I also worship) about what a piece of garbage he'd just heard premiered. At least it didn't get to East Coast vs. West Coast Gangsta Rap levels, but it was still very unpleasant. Personally, I dig them both. Quite a bit. Particularly this piece and Fiery Angel, both the opera and the symphony he got out of it.

Grandios. Jemand bezeichnete den Stil dieser Suite mal als grotesk was glaube ich gut passt. Der Streicherpart bei 0:55 ist sehr spannend und die freche Melodik ab 1:17

Every time when i hear it i imagine giant hordes of scythians coming with boats, and hurling across the land, marching with giants spears and then when the allegro part , with violines comes then they start they march with the horse cavaliers,awesome

claudio abbado conducted a schythian suite good like this.ok gergiev remains the "esecutore testamentario" of prokofiev's opera...prokofiev its not music,its religion.

IMO Prokofiev is one of the greatest composers of the XX century.

It's like this piece on steroids. Since it did inspire Prokofiev to compose this piece.
