Dear John is a great movie. I truely love it because it has a message like the other Nicholas Sparks novels. I really makes you feel diffrent after watching. It makes you want to have that true love story with the person you love. It also shows that you can be miles apart that one person that makes you feel alive, but if there is love, the distance is not a problem.

@Ingelicangel I had a very similar situation and experience. The first time I met him, we spent 3 months together and he had to go back to Alaska. We we're apart for a very long time but we we're talking everyday through skype. He comes home staying for a couple of weeks then go back to Alaska. And guess what? He's my husband now. Long distance relationship is never easy but it's all worth it. Just be strong for your partner, and who knows, he might be your husband too. :)

They made a big promotion and ads for this film. Well, I like it but it wasn't as touching as A Walk To Remember (2002), The Notebook (2004), The Painted Veil (2006), P.S. I Love You (2007) etc. Not even close. It seems to me that they missed a lot of the things but I was impressed by Channing Tatum's acting. He deserves such serious roles. Richard Jenkins was brilliant too
