  • You are just.... too cute. xD

  • what is the big boom about anyway?

  • @Coombe2882 trolled

  • make own better if u think she cant make 1

  • Love the Monty Python shorts. They're like an exclamation point on the dorkiness.

    Cute dorky chicks rock.

  • LOL.... DEATH GERL!!!!!!!!!

  • cool

  • Hey leave the lassie alone, would like to see you do better.

  • shut up man you probably cant even dance so shut it and get a life

  • Its neat getting to see you do more and move around more, but I have to admit I kinda miss your little room! It gave this awesome 'dancing in a box' effect, like I could imagine you performing on the street in vegas or something. Still, awesome! Found you through Code Monkey, but Walk the Walk and Don't make me Dance are my faves!

  • Shut it freakshow

  • its a girl havent u ever seen one before??

  • I just discovered you today, and now I'm gonna have to be nice to my cousin for exposing me to you. Dammit, I like being mean to him. :)

  • your code monkey one was better.

  • I can't believe all these stupid comments, I actually enjoy her video's and from the awesome shirt in code monkey dance, to the awesome boxers in this video, awesome +.

  • Thanks! At least someone appreciates the Spamalot boxers.

  • You know wat I think? If you dont like these vids and want to criticise everything then stop watching these and stop posting you ideots...!

  • good!!

  • Excellent performance! :-) Keep it up!

  • Nice work!

  • omg love it :) i love how you worked with the beat it's awsome keep it up

  • have somthing to the floor

    god???!!!!???!!!1

  • lol.

  • crazy!

  • I've watched your vids.

    So expressive...

  • how old is she?

  • are really 21??

  • I'm not in love with this song like I am with some of JoCo's other work, but you did the best job you could. Keep dancing!

  • wut?

  • Rubish

  • Aww... Michigan's gone? Gone for good? That's less than nifty.

At least it got a nice dance as a farewell though.

  • While I don't think this is the best dance you've done, it's still good. I especially liked the close up part "Only move at night only move alone." But I don't think a return to silliness is strictly necessary, I think Walk the Walk is your best dance, probably because it isn't a literal representation of the lyrics, but of the feeling of the song. Also because it had impressive hat tricks. Maybe I shoulda left this review on that video, ahhh well. Still keep up the great work.

  • Y do u people leave negative comments when u could just not watch. The reason u do this on the internet because in real life ur get ur ass kick right then and there. True this dance is good but the great as Code Monkey but making another great dance is fucking hard. SO go easy numbnuts

  • Personally I think you got nice legs :P

  • agreed, dont even READ any bad comments

  • dont listen to people who post negative comments, your a good dancer and i like this dance style.

  • Just because you posted your interpretation of a song shouldn't mean that it ruins the song for others. Its not really fair to say that.

    Anyway, another dancey triumph!

  • no pls dont ruin code monkey, its a really good song

  • That was...unique...yeah...sorry, I just can't get into this type of stuff.

  • if you understand.. the dance goes exactly of what the song is saying.. like the ringing of the car alarms were just the hands on the ears.. it was loud :P

  • Why must everyone jump onto the gay bashing band wagon? I swear, people like you must reap horrible karma.

  • Possibly. They also have fabulous butt sex but feel ashamed of it later. I'm pretty sure I've seen foxdemn in the men's room at the Minneapolis airport.

  • That was him?! lol

  • not nice It lost all the concept of the other (pyjama and simple) but hey even if i try I wouldnt dance like you

  • Dunno why people are saying those aren't pjs... I've certainly worn that to sleep before. Maybe I should go more traditional.

  • lol they looked like pj's to me! I mean come on would anyone wear those shorts out to go shopping or anything...definately pj's

  • I'd have to say that is my least favorite of your videos. I didn't like the song either... sorry! I am a fan though... try bright side of life? from spamalot?

  • I have noticed that you have replied thus to multiple vids by Emily. My question to you then is, why continue to watch them and post mean viscious comments if you so obviously do not like them. Please go use your time better watching something you do like and let those of us who love Emily's vids watch them in peace.

  • ummm... im sorry but that was crap nice attempt though.

  • I loved the first 3 dance vids, but I don't like this one at all. You changed your style for the worse. Move the camera back in close; it's more personable. The interpretive dance you do is awesome, but be sure to include some "dance" with the interpretation.

Criticism, I know, but constructive, I hope. I really think you've got some of the best vids on YT.

  • A lot of people seem to be having the same sentiments as you. Whenever I get around to making the next one I might try to return to the silliness of Code Monkey and Don't Make Me Dance.

  • I'm glad to see you take constructive criticism well..... :D

  • Oh my gosh. A dance to Re: Your Brains, though probably impossible, would rule so hard.

  • yea dude!

  • That was cool! Keep on dancing!

  • I know it's probably getting weird that I've commented on three of your vids in one day, but I haven't been online lately and they're all comment-worthy!

Gotta say, the more I watch you, the more I like you. You're so talented, and I LOVE the Spamalot shorts! I went and saw it earlier this year... it was fantastic.

  • Very nicely done, and a congrats on the new room! Perhaps one day i will do an interpative dance and put it on here for you to watch....but dont hold your breath lol

  • That was excellent, as usual. :)

  • *dancing

  • you should have a break dnacing peice of toast in the background :D

    because everythings better with toast.....

    even toast..

  • i'm uh just going to call this an interpretive dance

  • You would be correct in doing so.

  • where are the lyrics?

  • You should be able to find them on Jonathan Coulton's website. I can't link you to it from here because YouTube won't allow web addresses in the comments.

  • In addition to missing your facial expressions, I miss the 'mood' of the smaller room. Lots of stuff everywhere to give the videos additional character and color.

However, I've enjoyed them all, and will watch whatever else you wish to give us :)

  • code monkey rock dance was killer walk the walk asome booooom great!!!

  • I love your dances! And it's even better because you have Spamalot boxers! Thank YOU!!!

  • Have you ever put any thought into doing a duet dance? Maybe 2 or 3 people? Consider this a request.

    Sinn

  • Well, byt the time you've completed your course you're going to have an awesome showreel, thanks for sharing it with us as you make it - just promise you'll let us all know when you hit the bigtime!

  • all your vids so far are AWESOME!!!...shit gotta go, hugs and kisses = P

  • One other thought - the thing that threw me off about this one (and the last one) was that you spent a lot of time not moving, even though both songs were quite upbeat, driving even.

In Code Monkey and Dance Dance, you are always moving, at least a little, and often quite a bit. To me, this explains why there seems to be less "energy" in these last two.

I think it's great you're developing your skills and exploring new styles, so keep up the GREAT work, and whatever else, keep dancing!

  • It's great to see the new videos - I was brought here by the note on JoCo's site, and somehow I missed the last one. (I guess subscribing doesn't matter if I ignore the alert emails, eh?)

I agree with others, that this one seems different than your "classic" (or I rather, "early") works, i.e. Code Monkey and Dance Dance. However, I caught the video from your dance class, and that confirmed that you've been doing some serious study of Fosse, et. al... which explains the difference.

  • Sweet!!! Thanks Emily.

  • I just thought of this and im REALLY REALLY hoping you read this. For your next song, do "falling" by the beatles. Its uptempo and something that i think you could pull off really well :D

  • Also, might i suggest, dont get so far away from teh camera, one of your best qualities is your facial exressions, and we cant see it anymoore.

  • No offense meant, really, i love this, and you're a good dancer. I agreewith Spin79Teach though. Also, when you're on the ground and you stand up, your knees are far apart, like your legs are spread. If you ever read this, try to work on keeping them together, less ockward

  • truely not ur best work sorry

  • Great! I particularly enjoyed the opening sequence. I like the specificity, sharpness and narrative of your choreography.

    Keep it up!

  • I don't understand this one. I still think you are cool though. : )

  • Both you and coulton rock!

  • Keep on Dancing Emily! Your energy really transmits through the screen!

  • I agree, I think Code Monkey and Don't make me dance really make Emily shine. I'd go after another fun/silly song that captures your spirit.

  • Awesome. I love all your videos.

  • Good job as usual, but I like "Code Monkey" & "Don't Make Me Dance" a lot better. I think those songs just allowed your humor to shine through more. I think that's why your videos gained popularity to begin with. Try something extremely silly next time.

  • Yay! Another one! ^_^ Great job, as usual. I luvs it. I like your new room thingy, by the way. Keep it up!

  • Hey! I don't know what to say.. it feels like you are a big corporation now and all important. So I'll stick with "Hey!" I'm gonna go smoke a cig now and go to bed. G'Night.

    Sinn

    P.S. Great Video.

  • "Hey" again. So are you going to do a "Boxers" series of video's now?

    Sinn

  • Good job at avoiding stepping on the remote :P

  • Heh- thanks :D

  • Congratulations!, you are funny and so creative in your dances. Keep doin' it! :P

    Diego

  • Lol your so good! My favorite is: dont make me dance dance :)

    xxx

  • That room is so much bigger!!!

    You have so much energy!!!

    ;)

  • Bravo! ^.^ Thanks for posting this!

  • I thought when you did another JoCo song it was going to be "Mandelbrot Set." That one would be easy to do an interpretive dance to, don't you think? :-)

  • Mandelbrot Set is my favorite JoCo song.

  • Really? Well it is a cool song! But I was just joking about making a dance to it. I don't see how one could. But, given Emily's talent, I suppose she might be able to come up with something. :-)

  • nrgins said : "Really?"

I guess if you had known that I was a math major back in the day, you wouldn't have been so surprised.

    :-)

  • Another great dance! I would love to know the secret behind all your energy and where it comes from. :)

And the new room looks fabulous!

  • w00t! I love your videos and enjoy your energy!

  • Yay for another song from JoCo! Great dance, thank you Emily!

  • Nice. I don't like this dance as much as the ladt few, but I'm glad you've done another video! :)

    Lovely!

  • Was there some way you think it could have been improved? Constructive criticism is yay.

  • My comment wasn't meant to be offensive or anything! I just don't know enough (read: nothing) about dancing in order to give any construcive criticsm! I just wasn't as impressed by it as with the others :(

Maybe it's becasue you have sooooooo much space now, but you only used it during the chorus, and even then quite sparingly? :o

    ps, Keep dancing!

  • I'm no dance expert either, but my sense is that the movements seemed a bit less precise than in the others? Also, your face is so expressive it adds a lot to your videos, and in this one your face was harder to see. And personally, I kept thinking about the remote and worrying you would step on it. I kind of wished you had slid it away at the start. Or maybe our expectations are just too high after your other videos! This was still great, though, so keep it up! Looking forward to more.

  • Hell, it's about time. ;-)

  • Another great job! Cool new space.

  • Well, I was second in the first upload, and then first in the second upload. Now I'm third in the third upload. So there's a certain symmetry there......

  • Yeah, sorry about all the uploads, though I did figure out what was going on. The video would freeze right after the sound file ended, which is weird, but I was too tired to worry about it. So I just put the credits at the beginning instead.

  • It's OK. I feel like, in a way, I was dancing with you. I did the ole 1-2, 2-1, 3-3 step. So it was like I was actively participating in the video as I commented. ;-)

  • WOW! Loving the amount of space u have gurl, Great job!

  • I love it too! Especially after living in that tiny space for two years.

  • I love this song! I love your interpretation! You are the best, Emily.

  • I love the song too! It's one of my favorite JoCo tunes.
