I did'nt go throught this type of surgery had 'selective transylvian amygydalohippocamecotmy' on left temporal lobe 2yrs ago,gone from 10-12 complex partial/tonic clonic seizures per month to NONE/0,it really changes your outlook on life,way you feel and more,just great,some people leave stupid comments,they need educating otherwise it could be them some day

11 years today I had the exact same surgery. I have been seizure free ever since. Life is great.

I had a temporal lobectomy two years ago. I went from 20 - 30 seizures a month to a big fat ZERO! I have my life back, no more trips to the hospital, I can drive again, I don't have to worry about my wife or kids seeing me have one. If it's an option, it may be well worth you looking into it. It's November, epilepsy awareness month. Get out there and spread the news and educate people!

I was born with seizures and finally hit rock bottom inside on living with them and went thru the temporal lobectomy over a year ago. I was having 10+ seizures per week but ever since this, i've had ZERO!!!!!! If you qualify for it, and more people qualify than we think, I HIGHLY suggest doing it!! :)

@Omnimatrix10 i'm trying to be mean, but my brother has seizures, that doesn't make him a freak. yes it is scary, and unnerving to those who watch a seizure, but those inflicted have no control over it. sometimes the seizures can be controlled with medication, and sometimes it can't. that's why these surgeries are performed. my brother is actually undergoing the epilepsy surgery friday to correct his seizure disorder. i don't consider him a freak and neither does my family nor his friends.

I HAD SEIZURES SCINCE I WAS 7YRS OLD. I HAD A TEMPERAL LOBECTOMY WHEN I WAS 50 AFTER I HEARD THE PROCEDURE HAD GREAT RESULTS IN THE LAST 10 YRS. THEY DID THIS AT HERSHEY MEDICAL CENTER IN PA. I am Maria's thankful mother. I will never forget that day for as long as I live. That day was the last day Maria had a seizure and to this day has still remained seizure free (5 years later) and hope that we are seizure free for life. I could write page after page of our story, but I will keep it short. All I can say is if it had not been for DRS. Please answer since I born I had been having epilepsy , now I'm 24 with kidsand I'm scare to do it. But I'm tired feel this way also all days sleepy , want to pass more time with my kids

@hugomena8797 When I was 2 I was diagnosed with epilepsy, went through countless medications and doctors until I was 16. When 16 I met a doctor who first mentioned epileptic brain surgery. I went through a week of tests and was informed I was a canadite for the surgery. At 16 I had the surgery, 7 years later Im 22 now and havnt had a seizure since. You should talk to a neurologist about possible surgery.

I was having up to 18 seizures a day, I had the brain surgery & my fits are rare, I just cannot come to terms how my personality has changed & am after 10 years still trying to get to know myself, gotta be honest, I don't like her, but I wanna be grateful x

I was an epilectic since I was 7 years old. I had several seizures in one day. I took all the medication to treat epilepsy. Some days they worked better than others. When I was 35 years old, my doctor at that time told me about the surgery, I thaught about it for a long time until I made the decision to have it. I am glad I did. I've been seizure free in the last ten years. I feel great.

My left temple lobe was removed 11years ago and seizure free since then.

I have epilepsy since 6 years now on. I have been frustrated when it come back to me this year I was expect it cure but it didn't seem work at all. You need to check my video. thanks 4 this great info my ex used 2 have siezurs but,she had same kind surgery and,she was cured!
