  • after this video i bought one and the number of rabbits etc i got increased by 450% thanks you have helped me a lot with all your videos. what county do you live in as it looks a great place to take a hunting holiday lol

  • It is north east England

  • Hi Richard, I live in Northumberland and hunt at Hexham, I have some land up there to shoot on. I've had my firearms licence now for 10 years. Finding sensible people to shoot with is quite difficult, Would there be any chance I could venture out with you sometime.? Cheers, Wayne.

  • Just give me a ring whenever, man and if I can find anyone responsible, I'll let you know - lol.

No worries. My number for the shop is on my channel. I'm in there saturday, monday and tuesdays and my mobile number is on the shop website or my landscaping website 'pondguru'

  • I swear that if you used that suit in Australia shooting where we shoot, that My uncle Barry would shoot you as his eye sight's not that good as it used to be :( (He once shot a Feral Sheep)

  • Well, if they ever shot Bigfoot, it will be in North East England haha. Great videos Richard, keep em coming

  • This one is a bit of a laugh - I've never worn the suit since making this video and just bought it because I didn't have one (what a waste)

  • tht suit sucks

  • Very nice video pondguru.

Gives a nice idea of what a ghillie suit is.

Could you a help me a little?

1.I am into wildlife photography,so I needed a ghillie just like the one you have.

2.I live in India. And i am not sure what am saying is perfectly right, but i think the forests here are much greener.Could you help me chose a proper ghillie suit?? Which is a liitle more green than the one you have? Or rather like dry grass,I am still confused since the weather here changes the whole scape

  • Thanks for watching. Most people make their own from hessian sacks and local vegetation or dyed fabric. There are loads of videos on Youtube showing the best ways to make a ghillie suit and these are often much more suited to people's needs than a bought suit such as the one in this video as this one is just for messing about in really.

  • bushes cant shoot rabbits you silly billy hahahaha lol lmao

  • top marks to you again, I watched your 10/22 review then went out and bought one, bought a guille suit as "had always wanted one" then found your suit review, uncanny or what, dont worry, Im not a stalker, lol, only rabbits, and hopefully the guille will do great on a small open permission I have, again, good on ya

  • Would probably be OK in open land but would pick up far too much stuff in woodland as its just way too hairy. Still, its something else to use after the apocalypse hits.

  • looks like a bush about to shoot a rabbit

  • Interesting video you have made but the area just doesn't suit the ghilliesuit.

  • you are so noticeable

  • Ways to get people to take notice of what you say:

1 - Read the description before commenting

2 - Make some of your own videos

3 - Say something useful after doing points 1 and 2

  • cool vid. i have that ghillie suit and i dont think its very good. i found that if you tie natuarel folliage to it its allot better but its better if you make one but still you did good with it.

  • honestly didn't notice till you moved

  • great ghille

  • awesome ghillie suit :)

  • I belive the correct word for this suit is bushrag not ghillie

  • yeah that is a pretty crap ghillie but what eva

  • ur so fucking noticeable get a better ghillie

  • Yeah, dude.

Like I'm going to take advice from a guy who still has no videos after being on Youtube for over 2 years - and has one subscriber (his mum?)

    Enjoy.

  • I made my own ghillie suit and no offence but it blends in a lot better than store bought ghillies.

  • Yeah, home made ones will always be much better, man.

  • Excellent thats the same ghillie suit im looking at to buy and i think youve just made up my mind to get one with this video cheers m8 keep up the good work.

    Shoot safe

  • No probs, man.

I've got reviews to do for a camo waistcoat, day pack and walking boots which I've been testing for a few weeks so those videos should be coming in the next few days.

  • You need yo put other foliage on the suit so you blend with your environment better (IE sticks grasses moses and such)

  • This mofo is so shaggy you could just roll about in the muck and you'd soon end up carrying half the countryside around.

    lol

  • Like a bush.

  • Excellent suit weldone 5/5

    Tam

  • That's v good for the price, great review mate!! Looks the part with the rifle to

  • No worries. Thanks for appreciating, man.

  • you do not know how to use a ghillie suit, they dont make you invisible when you stand next to a bush, i spotted you within 2 seconds every time you TRIED to hide

  • The point is, man, I was not trying to hide. If I wanted to colnceal myself from the camera I would have hidden in / behing foliage like 99.9% of the other ghillie suit videos. This suit will be used mostly by people playing airsoft or painball - it is not a proper sniper ghillie suit.

For clowning about 2 seconds is all you would need for your target not to see you before you pezzled them with paintballs.

    No made no videos?

    In the US?

    Yup, I should have known.

    Another ass clown blocked....

  • How do you manage to sit still with all that anger inside you?

For gods sake, man - it's a video about a cheap ghillie suit which will be bought by kids playing airsoft games not used by professional 'hunters' who have mastered the art of sitting still, wearing deer urine aftershave and shooting animals which have been tamed in pre-baited areas.

If you ever had to go out on a proper stalk in the Highlands of Scotland your arse would collapse.

Oh, the reason you can't comment back? Blocked.

  • Thats a fairly gay comment, man.

Its a cheap off the peg suit - not a professional ghillie suit.

Sitting waiting for animals to come in to pre-baited areas isn't exactly hunting either.

    Jesus wept....

  • may i ask....how da hell do u wash it?

  • Christ knows.....I only bought it so I could make a video and use it to take people out when society breaks down.

  • @pondguru got,myself a snow,desert and grass gullie pack...its pritty sweet..

  • Sounds cool, man.

  • I find it's definitely worth taking the time to make your own, since you can design it to exactly the terrain you're going to be working in, and you can constantly modify it to suit your needs, not to mention the money you save. All I used was an olive green boiler suit, about 2m sqared of old camo net, a boonie hat and a scrim scarf, then to that I added lots of burlap string from old potato sacks died green or left natural. The good thing about it too is that it will smell very natural too

  • Best tip.

    Thanks for watching, man.

  • very nice video

  • How much would a basic Ghilloe Suit go for?

  • No idea, man.

    This one was about £55

  • @4WDPro123 Go on ghilliesuit.co.uk for this suit at the price of £44.99.. enjoy :)

  • Try going farther into the bush because that will conceal you better

  • Yeah, most of the ghillie suit videos on Youtube have people hiding in or behind things but I wanted to show how it blends in to the surrounds.

If I was hiding in bushes or behind trees, I may as well be wearing standard cammo gear.

  • really like the suit i have a ghillie suit and its for deer hunting

  • Btw I use my suit for airsoft and paintball it works realllllly well for both my friends can never be sure where I am exactly :) I would recomend getting it also the suit tends to pick up sticks and leaves which can be both good and bad

  • Sweet, man.

  • I got that same suit!!

  • Sasquatch suit :P u need a crawler with only jute/burlap on the back and reinforced material on the front and no black tell me the last time u saw a black leaf or patch of vegitation

  • The suit is actually all shades of green but does look very dark on film. Totally agree about the impractical nature of this suit for mobile hunting, man. Maybe very slow bow hunting in the mossy forests of South Island, New Zealand would find its niche.

  • @MrTacticalnoob1 dont be smart :P, becouse the black color gonna make the shadow that's why :P

  • Talking bush.....

  • I think the best thing you can do is make one plus its less expensive. Im hopefully going to make one.

  • Yeah, it was the time thing which stopped me making one. This one is a bit impractal for slow stalking as you've really got to sit still while wearing it.

  • realtree clothing is the best, with i bit of scrim netting. good vid tho.

  • Yeah, this suit is totally unsuitable for mobile hunting.

I just fancied getting one, lol.

  • some parts of the suit looked blue in the video... you should spraypaint it with olive green, brown and simular colours to blend in better with the surroundings. it was easy to spot you when you tried to hide in the video, also remove that mesh or what u call it in front of your face! no one uses that, get some facepaint instead. or a camo "baliclava"?

  • Its very much shades of green, not blue. If anything, it is too much green. The mesh is shocking, no worries.

The idea was not to hide behind grasses, shrubs or in bushes, but to sit in front of cover to show how the suit blends into the overall environment.

Some of the ghillie suit videos I see on youtube have people hiding behind dense cover - they could be wearing dayglo orange and wouldn't be seen in that situation.

  • Ill post mine when im done with it

  • Sorry but i dont think that suit works very well compaired to a homemade one.

  • No worries, man.

  • you look like a retarded swamp monster but good video and where r u from

  • Yeah, I look a bit like a baddie from Scooby Doo. I'm from near Newcastle, in the UK.

  • Have you ever considered crossbow hunting?

  • Its illegal in the UK but I would love to go bow hunting - maybe when I move to New Zealand......

  • nice video, what state do u live in( im curious of the silencer) and, honestly, my volume is out, so idk if u said anything about the cost of the ghillie suit..?

  • The suit was £55, details of seller in video description. I live in the UK in Northumberland.

Having silenced rifles is no problem in the Uk but we can't get semi auto over .22 cal. which is a bummer.

  • thats a good deal for about 55 quid mate, nice vid enjoyed it,, john

  • No worries, thanks for watching.

  • I posted here but it doesn't work as a link. Search ghillie suits on Ebay and you'll find them.

  • Could you send me the link of where you bought that man ?P.S Nice Rifle

  • If you go to Ebay and search ghillie suit you'll find the seller. Seller is 'Military 1st'.

    Thanks for watching.

  • That suit look pretty awesome! 4:25 that does look good on grassland environment.

  • This is only a very quickly done video and I intend doing a 'spot the sniper' one in more varied landscape - tht should be fun.

    Thanks for watching, man.

Oh, your views are coming along nicely. I often put 'discuskev' in my tags so your vids are cropping up as related videos with some of mine.

As Tesco say, "Every little helps...."

  • @pondguru No problem. How long have you been in that hobby for? Thanks, but I think I'm losing views also as I haven't been making regular videos like other fish hobbiest Youtubers.

  • I've been shooting since I was about 10 or 11. I've always only used rifles as I'm the worlds worst shot with a shotgun - noisy brutal weapons. I like the idea of dispaching the quarry without it knowing you're there. A quick and humane kill is the only way to respect the creature you're hunting.

  • @pondguru wow, you must have lots of experience then. Where about do you shoot your prey to kill it in a humane way, the head?

  • Generally, yes. The heart is also an instant kill but only possible from certain angles. I intend doing a video on kill zones in all sorts of situations but I need lots of footage (not necessarily shooting) of rabbits. By using stills with target zones overlaid I can explain all that stuff.

  • @pondguru That sounds amazing, will definitely be looking forward to that. In regards to the comment box on my channel, I have disabled it because I don't want to get b00b spammed lol (I know I can remove them).

  • I never bought a a ghillie, I just prefer to make my ghillie myself, so I can't know, how does these comanys makes their ghillies, but maybe You can add some brown jute to it, beacuse You can easyle add natural vegetation to your ghillie, but, with brown, it is a little bit harder.

  • This one is just a series of wool strips sewn into light camouflage clothing. I suppose browns could be sewn in. The suit would look a bit better if the wool was frayed and roughed up. I had considered making my own but its a time thing.

    Respect for making your own.

  • @pondguru Thanks. :)

  • No worries. There are too many people on here who never bother doing anything for themself so I respect people who get on and make it happen.

  • I laughed when I saw you come out of the bushes. you look like a green wookie

  • I'm just waiting for the inevitable "holy shit, its a Bigfoot!" comment.

  • @pondguru yeah it had to be me but in all honesty it works well. I need one for fishing lol they are smarter than you think they come up take a look at me and turn around I usually end up hiding behind some plants lol.

  • All creatures are sneaky (except pheasants and shhep possibly) There's a place near me where kingfishers nest every year. Provided there are some left after the winter we've had I will go down with the ghillie suit on, using the wrap for around the camera tripod and get some good footage of the parents coming to the nest with fish for the young ones.

  • im like 5'5-6" how long would the legs be?

  • I am only about 5'8" and they are about 4" too long for me. The suit size is L-XL as it really wants to be worn over other clothes. If I could rig up some sort of braces then it wouldn't be a problem as they would stay high enough. The draw cord doesn't hold them up too well but you wouldn't be walking for miles anyway. May be better to go for a smaller size.

  • @pondguru yea, ill prolyl go for a M-L size, and you could alway's fold the bit that's to long inside and sew it with liek an od type green thread or something

  • I do all the sewing in my house so that shouldn't be a problem. Even sewed up some tears in my skin, no worries - saves waiting for ages at a hospital........

  • @pondguru nice, and yea, the hospitals sometime's make you wait liek hours, unless of course it's life threataning
