Just like the New Series: Over Dramatic, Cheesey, Intrusive, Insipid, Bland, Over used, Un-Creative, Poor Quality(!).. Oh Just God Awful. the Americans are laughing at us trying to follow in their footsteps.. Doing what they were doing 20 Years ago with Star Trek! Relying on Trend, Fashion, Tropes & Drama instead of Creativety, Talent, Innovation, Good writting, Groundbreaking Music, I could go on forever. It's no wonder the Dr Who forum has turned into a hate pit for the show! Coz It's Crap!!!

@therealKINDLE You can't be serious. I'm an American who's sick of all the tripe "reality" TV. I found this series on Netflix streaming, and I can't get enough of it. The new Dr. Who may not be a work of literary genius, but it's fun. That's all that matters to me in a show. It's pulled me into other British shows I may have never tried before, and I'm finding a lot of what I see I like, simply because it is different and not too serious. American television has lost its way.

But If you were brought up on CLASSIC Dr Who which is more unique than any other Program, & then this boring shite comes out trying to be "Fun" as you put it.. Instead of being really good Sci-Fi.. you'd be pissed aswel! It used to be Anti-Political, Damsel in Distress, Creative Music & Sets, Artistic Costume Design & SFX, Extensive Scripts, etc. Now it's just for girls & gays. @therealKINDLE I have to disagree (and not just for the unnecessarily sexist and homophobic comment at the end). While the revived series has been uneven, there are many new episodes that I consider among the most moving, thought provoking and cleverly-written the show has ever done in its long history. Conversely, the classic series often had terrible episodes that I now find nearly unwatchable. That's what happens when a show runs for over 25 years. Everyone has different tastes.

But then they come back.. @therealKINDLE "The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances", "Human Nature / The Family Of Blood", "Blink", "Utopia", "Midnight", "The Fires Of Pompeii", "The Girl In The Fireplace". All clever, moving and solidly-written episodes. While you may not like them, I thought introducing the companions' families was an excellent way of grounding their stories. And if we're talking about an inability to kill things off, how many times did the original series fail to kill off Davros?

@beardedartisan I'm not denying the revived series has its weak moments - all I'm saying is, so did the classic series, and they both have / had their strong moments too. If you hate the show so much as it is right now, then I suggest you don't watch it and leave it for people who are enjoying it. But then since you're the kind of person who likes to win an argument by saying "I win", I may be expecting a little too much common sense.

Second, every one of those made perfect sense, except Rory coming back as an Auton which was an intentional mind screw. The characters are brilliantly written, the adventures are interesting, and thanks to Moffat it's actually rather creepy again. In summary: Go watch a violent action movie and leave the New Who fans the hell alone.
