Holy COW that is an awesome cairn. I love how people have made wind shelters into the sides of it, very cool. Have certainly been hearing about the crazy winds in Scotland on the news, stay safe out there Col!

That cairn is amazing, I've never seen anything like that size. Strange to see you so rugged up, it is stinking hot and humid here and quite the heat wave. I'd much prefer the cold. Happy New Year to you Colin.

Hey Colin,

glad to see you back doing what you enjoy. Quick question about the stones. How far away were they quarried and what's the signifigance of them? Were they to mark territory or did they have some sort of religous meaning or am I on the wrong path here?

@351xb1973 Hi Paul. I am not sure of the details of the history. I think the rocks where picked up at the base of the hill and carried to the top. I will do some research into the subject I suspect is pretty interesting.

Ever thought of doing Merrick in Dumfriesshire? I tried it 5 years aback and was beaten by clouds. Anyhoo, with all of that walking maybe you should do ham radio and do the SOTA competition. You would have had the Mountain Goat award by now.
