  • R.I.P. Isabelle. The most shocking thing is she doesn't look much different to alot of fashion models out there.

  • my gosh....jessica is so beautiful

  • I was shocked to hear that she had died....

  • why is what Isabelle saying and what the translator is saying completely different?

  • @NylonStrings...How could Ms. Simpson not be overcome with emotion? Sitting opposite a young woman who obviously wasn’t getting help fast enough, while thinking of the harsh media criticism she endured for having a little meat on her bones. Society is cruel to women who don’t fit the image of magazine and runway models.

  • isabelle.RIP<33333

  • simpson is dumb and fake

  • RIP Isabelle Caro you have been an inspiration to many

  • @TheLaraGriffin When did she pass away?

  • @ShinyStarJasmine She passed away in November but her family kept it out of the press until just this week.

  • The translator must have had some kind of script or something because the translation isn't at all what Isabelle was saying.

  • she looks so sad in this video :'( R.I.P <3

  • RIP Isabelle :(

  • God why does she start weeping right in front of her subject.

  • as if she cries! come on, her eyes aren't even red!

    that's typically american.

  • @TheOnlyHonkization ..why do we always have to bring nationality into everything.

  • @Crimson811 that's just because american tv shows like.. these talk shows are also fake

  • This is a very "coordinated" video. =p

  • omg this brought me to tears..im so sorry that she didnt recover...she was a very brave and strong woman. may she rest in peace

  • wow this was so sad and beautiful .. i teared up : (

  • I remember watching this in TV. I cried a lot because of Isabelles death. I have allways wished that she would get better.

  • RIP Isabelle.

  • This is so false, the translator ABSOLUTELY didnt say what isabelle Caro says!!

she never did modeling, she only did one campaign against anorexia.

why are they transforming her story like that ?

  • RIP lady

  • what about all the men with eating disorders? are we expeted to just sit back and get sicker?

  • @HugeEgo124 Eating disorders are much more common in women, they're just going for the majority target audience first. This should speak to everyone anyway, not just women.

  • @HugeEgo124, lol there usually is a lot more pressure on women to be thin than there is men plus its a lot more common for women to have eating disorder than men.

  • Rest in Peace Isabelle :)

  • Wow the translation is COMPLETELY wrong... She says that at one time she needed to climb the stairs on all fours and the translator says something about a modeling agency...

  • That made me cry :'( Isabelle is dead now, she died because of pneumonia in 2010. Her mother commited suicide in 2011. Her story is so much more sad and tragic than they tell it. But she will forever be remembered for standing up for herself, her weight and everybody else. She made a change and she's a role-model for many young girls. She was a very strong woman.

  • All the things that the traductor says was wrong! I'm french and i can says that this traductor is totally unskilled!

    Sorry for my bad english.

  • Yet Ms. Caro was discovered and scouted because of her look caused by her anorexia. Wasn't she anorexic since she was 13 and it was caused by her mother?

  • Ce n'est pas vrai! Elle est anorexique depuis ces 12 ou 13 ans, ce n'est pas parce qu'elle était mannequin!

  • wtf? its so stupid, anorexics and the fashion world. just retarded.

  • for all those who didnt get what i was talking...i was talking about making important decisions in our lives..it can be ab food..cloths..sex etc...if you pick the wrong way sure you will have to face the bad consequences...but when we r adults we cant run around blaming ppl for what we have become...things we've done..love your self...thats the only cure i know..n dont try to change ur body to please other ppl..try to show them how fragile they r infront of your personality...cheers!!

  • @TheHelanada people don't choose to have anorexia, shut ut you don't even know what you're talking about. it's a mental illness you don't choose to have it. I have depression and social anxiety and I don't remember choosing either of them. my granny (may her soul rip) had cancer, she didn't choose to have it, I don't think so. Isabelle did not choose to have anorexia. You should think before you speak.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheHelanada -- I recommend you research Freudian theory. While parents are not entirely to blame for the behavior of their children, they are the main point of reference for an adolescents(and thus the adult that child becomes)opinions of the world/their own self. In Isabelle Caro's case that was magnified dramatically. As a child, she lived an agoraphobic life with a depressed mother.

  • @TheHelanada Mental illness is a very complex and varied thing, it manifests itself in different ways. Just because someone isn't a raving loony does not mean there is nothing wrong with them. You need to learn the basics about how mental illness affects the patients, their family and friends and bring your views into modern times.

  • @itsvaniafernandes -- I concur, wholeheartedly. Anorexia is no more of a choice than Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar disorder, or any other mental illness.

  • @TheHelanada you dont choose to devolop delusion and mental illness

  • is this fake? she clearly said on another interview that she became anorexic because of her mother.. at 13. not her last year of high school and no fashion person told her to lose weight. why are they lying about it here?

  • Comment removed

  • @Bebe2020Mega -- Her mother described a gas cans weight as being a burden. That is what started her extreme dieting. Based on other interviews/her book, upon being told that she needed to lose 10 more kilos, she began to cease calorie intake(entirely, or almost)due to the aforementioned opinion of a fashion designer.

In other words, they aren't "lying"...just simplifying. My assumption is that choice was made due to the programs time constraints.

  • this is so heartbreaking

  • stop saying "girls girls girls" men can get this disease as well. im not saying this is a bad video, but please please please stop making us guys feel embarassed to develop this disease

  • @MultiJohniee here here, this disease effects everyone

  • It's really sad about her story, but I also want to make the comment that her translator looks amazingly beautiful. Just sayin'

  • i like how the story the translator tells is completely false. isabelle wasn't modeling when she became anorexic; she was young. her anorexia was a product of a neglected childhood, and she didn't do the campaign to have it aimed to only models, it was to everyone and anyone. i don't think isabelle ever really modeled that much. and i don't know why they said her lowest weight was 86, when in reality it was 56.

  • she seemed like such a sweetheart too :/ RIP isabelle <3

  • RIP Isabelle

  • if she was my friend i would have tied her down and force fed her

  • @trevanismith An anorexic person's stomach would not be able to break down food if forced to eat. They would just throw it back up.

  • The homosexual designers want women with boyish figures...so sad.

  • The strory that she tell is not true, she never modeled, exect for 1 capain. At the begening she say in french : That is not the model industrie that brought me there. And after they say a random strory that never happenned .

  • when she died?

  • @roumaiicp november 2010

  • Jeeez...so damn sad..can't find my words right now.

  • there should be a law that if your bmi is low enough, you need to go into hostpitality

  • What a good hearted woman! I am so sad she had to suffer through all of that. What a great message she is spreading to aspiring models, like me. I have been told by agencies to lose 5-10lbs.. but I am already a size 2. 32-25-35 measurements. She gives girls like me courage to stand up against these sick standards and make a difference.

  • did she die??

  • @Makar990 yes 6 months ago

  • r.i.p

  • i dont get it, she said in another interview that she became anorexic at thirteen because of her mother, not modeling... either way R.I.P Isabelle

  • @parra3005 That's exactly what i was bout to say..

  • I wish diagnosed with ana when I was 6...I'm pretty sure I have it again. But I cannot tell a soul.

  • @EasyBakeSmiles I;m sorry to hear this, and i hope you do tell someone.

  • @lynxlynx99 I hope so too, thank you

  • People don't realize this, but the prognosis for anorexia is grave. Medications and psychotherapy are minimally effective at best, and the relapse rate is staggering. People with eating disorders will struggle with the disease all their lives, and the mortality rate is very high. It's easily one of the most frightening pathologies out there.

  • i just read about her child hood and the things that trigged her anorexia, it's really breaking my heart.

  • Isabelle Caro is an amazing person and people like herself will never be forgotten. She is very beautiful.

    R.I.P Isabelle Caro

    -3

  • @MsNotori0us : I Agree with you! they transformed everything that she said, Isabelle wrote a book about her story and the reason why she became anorexic...It wasn't because of a fashion designer at all...(sorry for my English I'm french)

  • Jezus christ!!! That's sick!! Poor Isabelle! O-O

  • Anorexia is fucking ugly I've never see anyone other than anorexics say otherwise

  • @MsNotori0us Oh really? They did?

  • Cry

  • @MsNotori0us i'm wondering that perhaps she may have said those things and they were edited so when they translated they just left the Eng. part in there but not the French. It is misleading though- they should only translate what is IN the clip. Thanks again.

  • @MsNotori0us thank you for taking the time to translate from French. I do this as well when I see that Spanish is not properly translated to English.

  • OMG the girl translating is just perfect, so beautiful!!

  • RIP isabelle caro :(

  • @MsNotori0us...very true, but the fashion world certainly dosen't help...

  • unless they kept cutting out what she said when they edited this... translator WFT was that ?

  • Wait, according to another interview I heard with her she said it was mostly her mother who caused it, because her mother didn't want her to grow and traumatized her and that the fashion world just added onto it but that her childhood was the main cause.

  • This is so weird, what she is saying is not even translated properly at all, how did they even get away with this shit?

  • the price of beauty was more than you thought bitch

  • They didn't even translate it correctly... Sad, she deserve to be heard and they just made an other story with hers..

  • i speak french and, what she says is always cut. the translator says other things...

  • i cat believes shes died i thought she was goin 2 get better but everything cant be a happy ending but it is so sad

  • rip isabelle

  • I just notice that Isabella is dead, I wanted to see her healthier and better :(

  • Now Isabelle is dead..

  • yes I read a few minutes ago she in her own french words says that her mom struggled with a 70 lb gas can and her mom home schooled her and wanted her to be tiny forever like a little girl and she basically blamed it on her mom. she is all over the place with the story. To bad she passed from this.

  • @MsNotori0us no they just cut the scene when she was talking, just to make it shorter

  • mon coeur est tros 100cible ca me fais vraiment mal

  • I just saw another show with the same girl Isabelle Caro and she told a different story! Check it out

  • RIP isabelle Caro

  • the problem is that many, many people with eating disorders don't receive this kind of caring and understanding reaction because they don't "look" anorexic. all the public advertisements against anorexia are all about how scary and emaciated you will look, not about the EMOTIONAL trauma you will go through. you don't hear about how you lose the ability to function, how you become more and more scared of anything and everything, how you want to die inside half the time instead of hanging on.

  • R.I.P Isabelle..

  • @meaghan0566 how did she die! :( i thought she was eating again!

  • @Flamingo266 her organs were ruined

  • Why in the world wld they distort Isabelle's story? The real story is so widespread and anyone who googles her name will see it. Not to mention people who actually speak french have pointed out that Isabelle said "it isn't the fashion world that made me anorexic". I always had respect for Jessica Simpson for facing so much hate and her famous divorce but I'm purely DISGUSTED by her right now. Her own sister suffered anorexia, why would she even consider doing this? It's insulting to Isabelle.

  • I'm really sad now... Isabelle Caro died a few months ago and then her mother committed suicide 2 months after that because of the guilt.

  • isabelles facial features are much more beautiful then anyones in that video

  • @MissPonderosa you are probably saying this to say something nice about a dead person but saying that she actually look better than anyone in the video is also stating this that she look good while she was an anorexic im really sorry that she died but women this thin look aweful... poor girl...

  • @Sofia2co I was not saying that at all. She has beautiful skin and eyes and I can see through her frail body and imagine what she would look like as a normal weight person. No matter what her weight she is beautiful and had a much smarter, mature and deep mind, all the severely depressed people are. Jessica and her Malibu friends are surface level attractive. With Isabel you can see her character not just her body.

  • @MissPonderosa you are right! =)

  • @MissPonderosa i feel like jessica and her friends really learned from this woman and they ARENT shallow ppl bc they showed beauty in other cultures on this show and the extremes a woman takes to be beautiful and warn ppl not to always buy into everything

  • @oooh19 I'm sure they did, but they also returned back to their life, exactly as the same as it was.

  • God bless. Repos dans la paix.

  • What needs to be put in perspective is not how to "fix" someone struggling with these sorts of things, but rather how we can all support them by being considerate in what we say. I've been a bulimic for around four years now and I've found the most supportive thing anyone has done for me was just being there for me. Saying they care--not saying, "You have a problem, get some help," or by giving their "how to" about something they don't even understand. Our minds are just as fragile as we look.

  • Shouldn't she have a nasogastric tube funneling cheeseburgers down her throat instead of giving interviews? If she was a cancer patient she wouldn't be putting off chemo for photoshoots. Just let her die, I guess.

  • @NihilistImp, that might help her put on weight, but it will not help with the disease. She had a psychiatric disorder and once she has the tube removed she will stop eating again.

  • @MsNotori0us I speak french and the traduction is just horrible -_- I sould've been the traductor haha

  • this made me cry)':

  • RIP this is just so sad...

  • she got anorexia because of her childhood and mother not because she was a model wtf they are like making up shit thats not true lol nice going jessica simpson show

  • R.I.P.

  • @MsNotori0us

Thank you. Je suis parfaitement d'accord. Cette traductrice vaut que dale!

  • das is keine Krankheit, das ist Konditionierung. Wen interessierts

  • RIP isabelle :_(

  • @addicted112 no please dont tell she's dead.... what happened ?

  • @Steph4Xmen Caro died on 17 November 2010 in France, after spending about two weeks in hospital with acute respiratory disease. it was reported that Caro's mother had killed herself during the previous week, unable to cope with guilt as she blamed herself for Caro's death :( such a sad story! my prayers go with them

  • Sure the fashion designer didnt tell her to lose weight, but the fact is, that the fashion world her saw her THIS skinny and didnt say anything. That's what she was trying to convey.

  • She said in her CBS interview she stopped eating because of her abused childhood when she thought she was a burden on her mother because she weighted too much. In this vid she says it's cause a fashion designer told her to lose weight if she wants to be a model.

Pretty confusing. BTW the translator is hot.

  • Poor Isabelle Caro died in November 2010 and this story is highly distorted, Isabelle was not a victim of the fashion, she was actually anorexic since chilhood and she was chosen to be part of a campain warming against the trend of very slim models when she was already anorexic; I am suprised to see Jessica making up such a story in front of an entire world. Check up the real story about Isabelle Caro, you can find it on youtube.

  • she became anorexic at 13 same as me

im a little scared about having this problem

  • @nicegirl7407 Just watch how Isabelle starved herself to death because of a wrong idea living inside her head. Be smart, love yourself very much, be proud of your own beauty and you´ll stay safe and sound.

  • @nicegirl7407 im 13 ...14 in 2 weeks but ive been suffering since i was 12 n i am lucky because i get treatment but it is hard but it doesnt have to be this way , i no wat u see in the mirror is horrible but youve got to just say its wrong even though u cnt see that x good luck with everything xxx

  • I'm really proud of what she's doing; warning other girls of this disease. I just wish she can spread the word a lot more. RIP Isabelle <3

  • Jessica is so sweet, I remember watching this series

  • R.I.P...

  • recuerdo este episodio,en paz descanse isabelle caro:(

  • i speak french and i can say the girl who translate change what isabelle caro said she didn't say that the fashion world is the reason of her anorexia her first sentence is "it is not the fashion world which made me how i am now" she say that they didn't mind at all to see her so skinny they were more carefully about her height. she didn't even talk about fashion designer who wanted her to loose weight did this girl really talk french it is all a lie what this girl say

  • this is extremely sad. r.i.p isabelle <3

  • @MsNotori0us thanks for that translation! :) am I crazy or did she say Givenchy like around 0:56 ?? lol

  • RIP

  • ;( R.I.P. Isabelle Caro

  • Hm... don't know what to think about this. This show reports that Isabella was trying to beat the disease but there are numerous other ones, who report that she did not want to try because the media would have left her alone and she wanted this stardom she had... weird.

  • RIP

  • @MsNotori0us You are right! Wow, this program manipulated to get their aid to their message. The CBS News video tells the real story. Still I think models are often too thin, it seems very unhealthy too me. But I think people in this industry don't see it as a problem, because they considere it as 'normal'.

  • @wwl777 yea the editing they do these days is ridiculous, and while i wont argue that models in the industry are too thin and as long as they continue to make money the real problem is usually ignored, fashion isnt the cause of it, a trigger, added pressure, scrutiny, yep, measure of worth directly proportional2 the superficiality and a world of narcissists cant be healthy for anyone, but its a deeper and prior issue, i compare models in self destruct mode in fashion to a customer at a bar ; /

  • @chirpz1999 But wouldn't it be very unhealthy if your job was to be a customer at a bar? Modeling is their work and life.

  • I never realized how bad these disorders were until I met one of my best friends in High school. she was also strugling with anorexia, weighed only 41 kg at the age of 15. every week we went to the medical centre so she could see how much weight she was gaining and i always got out of there crying. luckily she went into a rehab program and today she's perectly healthy, she discovered she doesn't need to be skinny to be a beautiful person. RIP Isabelle.

  • @Catpotato thats amazing ♥

  • @ccdanro perhaps you are right, but unless you experience what is going through someones head with an eating disorder, you cannot totally generalise all people with an eating disorder by calling them 'dumb' it is a pure generalisation, and to make comments like that one needs the information to back them up, and they need a bias free outlook from both sides of the spectrum. until you have these, i strongly suggest you keep such strong opinions to yourself.

    x

  • i thought she manaed to get better.i'm sad she died.

  • hmmmmm I cried :(

  • Some people are just idiots. I'm sick of the people that are under the delusion that "anorexia isn't a mental illness, just some stupid girl's selfishness." That's not true. Although I would never wish an eating disorder on even my worst enemy, these are the kinds of people that piss me off enough to wish they had an eating disorder. Then, maybe they'll see that Anorexia/Bulimia is, in fact, a serious problem.

  • thank you Isabelle for having the courage to share yourself and your struggle so that others might not succumb to the same depths. Rest In Peace.

  • RIP Isabelle

  • It's a pity Isabelle died..

  • How can anyone think that someone should be THAT thin to be considered attractive. The interpreter who looks of normal weight is incredibly attractive. A lot more attractive than Jessica Simpson, who's just orange.

  • typical example of a story altered to make it fitting for television. they just decide blame fashion designers for caro's anorexia, but its a lie. she was anorexic ever since she was 13, she said so herself several times. . but hey, the fashion designers are always the culprits, right?... this is ridiculous.

  • I battled Anorexia for 4 years. Sometimes it goes beyond a "I don't want to be fat" complex. I was bullied in middle school, there was a point where my life was a mess. I have lots of problems now, the worst one being...not being able to have children. When I had anorexia, Isabelle was one of my thinspos...now she's more than that, she became one of my heros for wanting to spread awareness about this hell known as anorexia. May she rest in piece <3

  • The english interpretation is not what the girl is saying in french, unless it's a montage of everything.....like what the hell...really....she s inventing!!!!!!

  • the eight people who disliked this have no heart.

  • @CHLOELIKESCEREAL or perhaps they just understand French? The English translations of Caro's French have been distorted to fit the video better, which is extremely disturbing.

  • rst in peace

  • respect

  • "The skinnier you are doesn't make you more beautiful."

  • @Andreawantstodie as a model and ed sufferer its much more to it than that, unfortunately thats why its so complex, my agencies were all worried about my wt(yet i do think it was ultimately to sell clothes better & skeletons dont do well in commercial work), was losing jobs for being too thin, was told by valentino to'please eat a cheeseburger' for my eerily gaunt stature, but besides the beauty aspect, its also to feel pure again, clean, in control,of our very biology which we feel is so tainted

  • so sad... i hope that this story will "wake up" many girls
