We always continue to learn from the great thinkers and humanists. Sigmund Freud's contribution to human cultural history always will be relevant. He did not need to be "perfect" to be meaningful. No, he did not build an empathic bridge to women, and he knew that when he asked, "What do women want?" But he did identify the many roads to unconscious process, and all of us are the beneficiaries of his ideas.

Some of his psychanalytic theories have been discredited by other pysyanalyists. His daughter Anna Fraud who was also a psychanalyist, was a terrible person. What about Jung or Adler there've contributed as much to psychoanalysis than Freud did in his lifetime. Anway psychoanalysis is dicried by the postmodernist and by most other people. Freud has lead to the disinteration of modern society with its values morals.

Would you also say we shouldn't value Darwin just because others came to the conclusion of the existence of genes? What would you say about Galileo? The fact is that Freud changed the way we see to the world, Would Anna or Freud or Jung or anyother have systematically propose a theory of the unconscious if Freud hasn't proposed it?

wow very cool to hear his voice~! A brilliant mind all the way. His contribution in understanding the human mind is immense and second to none. Sure, many after him have revised, changed, or modified in some way his theories..but without Freud, the current state of phycology would be stunted and may have not reached the elevated presence it is today.

Freud & Jung are known for psychoanalysis.

Piaget is known for the developmental theory.

Vygotsky is known for the constructivist theory.

It is often said that pychoanalysis cannot be a science as it structurised in a way that it cannot be proven to be false. But if we briefly look into a lot of subjects in science such as Evolution theory, in fact we find that it cannot be proven to be false either. Any kind of evidence that might make doubt the theory can be explained one way or other without damaging the authority of the thoery. Thus, it calls for more research in demarcating religion from science...
