  • This is the first song I learned on the piano! :D Took a couple hours since I'd never touched a piano before. I haven't tried to do the word parts before o.o Sheet music please good sir? At least for the hand parts if you don't happen to have a copy of it all lying around.

  • can you do a video of how to play it please

  • can you do a video of how to play the right hand please?

  • now play it as fast as you can, then it sounds funny

  • plz use sustain pedal it will sound soo much better!

  • Hello! uh... im kind of new to world of keyboards, synthesizers and what not:P so i was wondering if someone could help me out just a bit... i want to buy this keybaord so i can experiment wiht it, you know, get some fucked up sounds, weird effects and also beautiful music (from strings, grand piano bla bla bla... so i was wondering if it comes with al that stuff?

  • @DarkSwordlessLink66 The keyboard you see here is the Keystation 88es. It actually doesn't produce ANY sounds on its own. It MUST be connected to a computer, and the computer actually synthesizes the sound. With this keyboard, you can use many different types of computer software and instruments, so the types of sounds it makes is limitless. If you want a keyboard that produces sound on its own, you will have to look elsewhere.

  • The Keystation is a midi controller.... so what are you using to get the sound?

  • Any synthesizer.

VST, any plugin for a DAW, a hardware synth, the list goes on.

  • I know that but I want to know exactly what plugin he is using.

I am using Steinberg's The Grand 2 right now and it sounds incredible

  • Kk it sounded like you didn't understand how a midi controller worked.

I use Pianoteq, a modelled piano (no sampels, just mathematical formulas) and it sounds pretty good.

  • okay cool I will check that out.. Another one I have been trying and it sounds really good is: 4Front Truepianos.

  • actually went out nd bought a keyboard yesterday cuz i watched this

    immense

  • 10 out of 10

  • Yes, the song is played with just the left hand but u can sing with the right if u want..at least thats what i like to do...VVVVVVVVVVVVV

  • yes, just the left hand if you want to sing or u can always do the right and sing along with it...thats what i do

  • Nice one. But since you're playing the vocals too, does this mean that the piano part is actually one hand?

  • For the most part, yup.

  • I like it. How long have you been playing?

  • Thanks. Not quite sure how to answer how long I've been playing since I really don't actually know how to play :) What I do is I watch someone play something, then I just mimic the movement of the hands and the positioning of the fingers/pressed keys and I keep doing it over and over till I've memorized it. I would love to actually be able to read notes, know what the hell a C Flat or Sharp etc means and learn the ability to hear what a given note/chord is then just play it on the keyboard.

  • well, about the C flat, that isn't used alot because it is the same as a B. C sharp means that you play the C a half tone higher, so thats the black key next to the C.

but if you need to play like a B flat, you play the black key on the left of the B. thats how it works with all flats and sharps;)

    i hope that helped you:P

  • @McKack i do like almost the samething

  • Thanks dude, this video did wonders for me learning the song :)

  • little fast but otherwise good

  • yea as you said in the info area, Tempo, It does seem slow to be a 'mad world' xD But good job anyway man, I just seen it for 185. Gonna buy one myself and practice.

  • Does it require a sound card or it works even with an integrated one?? PLZ answer!! oh and btw nice playing! real pro ;)

  • Thanks ^^

And nopes, ya don't need a sound card (literally) integrated is fine for amateur play :)

  • Nice! ;) I'm thinking about buying this controller too, and I've got a question - which software are You using? ;)

  • Akoustik Piano by Native Instruments

  • Nice played!

I'm thinking about buying one of M-Audio's controllers - the Keystation Pro 88 or this one, Keystation 88es. I don't think my style fits perfectly to the Pro 88, I'd rather buy this one.

Just need to find out if the keys are velocity-sensitive and how the key feels.

    Thanks :)

  • Yup it's velocity-sensitive and semi-weighted. Got this one since I liked the feel of the keys on the one in my response video so much :)

  • does this keyboard come with software for the different instruments? Does it have its own speakers? Nice Playing :)

  • Yes, when you purchase it from M-Audio's website Ableton Live Lite comes with it. It's a computerbased software.

No, it doesn't have speakers. It's a MIDI-controller, when you hook it up to a computer via USB it'll be played via the speakers on the computer.

  • thats the keyboard my boyfriend is giving to me!

at least it looks like it and you say its a keystation 88es so yeah

    :D

    you play well

  • thanks =]

  • I didn't know this composition but you give a very convincing run-through. Is it a famous pop song?! I am more into Classical myself!!

  • wow really clean playing. it sounds nice. but i was wondering about this model though.. is it true it cant act like a regular keyboard? meaning you have to plug it to a computer in order to hear anything?

  • Thanks :)

Yup, it's called a midi-controller, it's like you said, you'll have to hook it up to a computer after which you "control" an instrument of your choice through some software, like Reason, FruityLoops, GarageBand etc.

  • I wish you can send me the notes because i really want to learn this. Great job man, also just to let you know, the song goes bit slower, but its very good though.

  • sorry for my ignorance, but is it possible then to use this live? and can you play at home through a computer without being recording, as in just playing like streaming? If you see what i mean. Is the only way to play it by hooking it up to a computer?

  • When it's hooked up to your computer and you're playing any instrument in whatever program you like it's live per se and theres no noticable delay etc. but it's not live in the manner of just dragging it along anywhere and playing "live" getting sound from it without a computer and software\instrument to control.

  • ok, thanks a lot, so this can only really be used in a studio setting or at home?

    Ps. nice playing

  • Good job man! Makes me wish I knew an instrument.

  • Thank you. I wish I knew one too :)

I've actually got no idea (at least not yet) how to read notes and I don't know the name of a single chord. The only way I know how to play this is because I've memorized the hand and finger-placements by watching a tutorial video here on YouTube :)

  • haha Nice.

  • Very good, well done ^_*

  • Thanks :)
