Well thats the thing with electro artists. Because everything is made by just two guys instead of a group of people like bands, they don't (can't) actually play everthing live. There are several ways that electro artists do live gigs, some just dj it like the bloody beetroots and some do a combination of djing and live remixing like daft punk and some just choose to play some bits and have the rest playing through sequencers.

He uses samplers, there's no 'actual prerecorded' stuff going on. There's lots of improvisation.

But yeah, that synthesizer (name escapes me at this time) records previously made melodies so he can do that)

but on the album, he jsut played on instrument and then another and another, then layered them on top of each other on the final copy.
