I love Bechsteins, I tried one in a store once and compared it to Yamaha and steinways that where there and I totally fell in love with the Bechstein sound. It has that old resonant bell-like sound that sound more classic to me, like it's taken from that era when this music was made and before. The steinway for me sounded very neutral and sharp and also dry, like it really needed reverb. But maybe I had a bad produced one, but I expected more from Steinway since I heard so much about them.
I don't like the bechstein piano's, they are much better than some other piano's, but I don't like bechstein as an acception to other piano's. I've played the biggest grand piano of Bechstein, and I wasn't very amazed. But good piano...
@yasminedamiens Of course :)

When one wants to demonstrate the exceptional quality of the sound of a piano, one should use a proper microphone.

@M3sslah Only the model D for me is the exceptional Steinway - the rest are sold off the back of those.

That Bechy sounded great! beautiful raw bass and sweet top end.
Not the typical brittle top end of most modern Steinways.

What a terrible thing to say. Why don't you do something positive and remove your comment?

@marianomanto
