I watched the fight 3 times (live and 2 times afterward), once with the sound off. Originally I had the fight 49-46 Shogun, but after seeing it twice I have it 48-47 Shogun. I just don't see in any way shape or form how Machida pulled it out, I don't buy championship advantage cuz if that's the case, Forrest would never have beaten Rampage.

what i ultimately said was that i did not know who won that fight. the main reason that i watched the fight a second time was to see what i didn't during the live airing of the fight. my initial thought was that rua won the fight. watching the fight a second time, i saw a lot more stikes landed by machida that i didn't see before. after re-watching the fight, i don't feel that either did enough to win the fight and agree with you that the fight should have been a draw.
rogan had no influence on who i thought was doing better. i read that machida had said to re-watch the fight with the sound off and thought it might be a good idea. i was able to see the fight differently more due to the fact is that i could focus on what i didn't see watching it live.
I understand that re-watching can clear things up a bit but I didn't think it was draw I'd personally give a full win to Rua no question, totally deserved and obvious IMO.
All in all, I think its bad thing that there is no extra round in UFC, extra round thingy would definitely clear up many things.

The fact that Cain was almost certainly going to win cannot be used as justification. Indeed it is the back from the dead flash kos or subs that can make a dull card great.
eg. Sakuraba's fantastic match at the much more exciting Dream event. Mazagatti would have stopped that match no question.
UFC will have to up the risk quota to avoid more snoozefests like 104.
