hey guys, ive been thinking about getting a motorcycle. Ive never owned one, and have limited experience on them. After i take the motorcycle course, would the honda shadow be good for me? I would prefer a cruiser like it, because i really dont have a burning desire for speed. Can anyone offer me any advice about the shadow or becoming a motorcyclist in general? I mean anything helps! Thanks guys!
@gatta124 I started with a Honda Rebel 250, thinking it would be a good bike and last a while for me since I, like you, didn't have the burning desire for speed. Not long after passing the course however, I quickly realized that a 250 was not enough bike for me. Of course, I weigh around 180, so it might be different for you depending on how much you weigh. I now own a Shadow Phantom 750, and if you are careful it would make a great starter bike! So much fun to ride and very easy to maneuver!
@iscoolmk Thanks! Is this a bike i would want to keep for a while? Like does it have the power there so when i become more confident I can use it? What I really mean is, will it satisfy, or leave me looking for more?
@meelOOkintoo knockoffs are usually cheaper and inferior executions of the original. The Shadow is better than its competition in terms of overall and initial quality. Long term usage proves these motorcycles to be very durable as well.
Too bad the vtwin exhaust note can't be heard here with the music blasting..Nice bike but would be perfect with a belt final drive. And why are the early to mid 80's 750-800cc Shadows soo much quicker through the 1/4 mile than these new models?
I road sport bikes between 1982-92. I've been thinking of getting back on. Pushing 50 I'm not interested in sportbikes and Harleys are too much money. If this comes in around 7k, I'll consider it.
Why do some jerkoffs always include the words Harley-Davidson and homosexual in the same sentence. Are you that insecure that you have to attack people to feel good about yourself?
This is what Hardly Davisin should've done with their bikes, but instead they created lame slow boring unreliable american made motorcycles for obese homosexual american men. Good job Honda, nice bike!
@Georgenfla Hey, uh have you ridden a 1200 Sportster by chance? Slow??? Unreliable??? Do you realize that this (very nice) Honda is aimed at the Sportster market?? Costs about the same?? Ever wonder why Honda would want to compete with the Sportster?
@Curt8153 - If H-D was smart, they'd bring the 883R back to the American market! They still offer it in other markets. If it's good enough for the rest of the world, it's good enough for US, dammit! Instead, we have all these "Shortsters" to deal with now!
lol, It'd be nice if he'd tell us more of the straight facts about the bike and how good it is rather than going on about how the exhaust sounds "intriguing" etc. seems the Americans' only goal with things like this is to say as many long words as they can.
They should have a high performance version of this bike. An inverted fork, cast wheels with dual disc up front, shaft drive borrowed from the Phantom, tachometer. The possibilties are endless.

@gatta124 i don't see why not but don't forget that if any motorcycle / scooter passes 600cc the insurance bubble, Honda Shadow as 700+CC

@gatta124 I was in the same position, I bought myself a Honda and Love it. It's a perfect starter bike

im pretty sure they were talking about a Honda in this video not a Harley .. .. so why have 7-8-9+ comments on a Harley if its about a Honda..

Beautiful bike but overpriced because of the drum rear and chain drive
