You know, that key fender with a weight in it (I don't know, maybe a pice of solid steel or an old socket) would make an excellent thump-em. Maybe even a small covert fistpack. Monkey paws are just legal blackjacks without springs, so I don't see a weaponized fender being an issue in any state.

I like the monkey fist knots. With a base ball in there you could knock someone out. Thats what it can be used for. Or just to look at. It is kinda cool.

Just made that fender key chain from 550 cord. Had to watch that video you linked to like 5 times to see what the hell he was doing, lol. I used for four strands instead of 6 also. I was going to see about getting a cork into that method, but I'll save that for later. I like the fender method better then most others, because it doesn't show the ends on the bottom

What is the monkey fist use for??

@Maniukeru7 Originally they were a weight put on the end of a leader line, making it easier to throw it from the railing of a ship to the dock. The leader would be used to pull the heavier main line to the dock for tying up.

Most dock workers would cut them off, though, because they really aren't necessary and can seriously hurt if you get hit by one. So they became more of a decorative maritime knot.

Yep, I tie my own knife lanyards and survival bracelets. I have made quite a few of each and am always looking for new ideas. My favorite knot so far is the "lanyard" knot. It's the round smallish one. I just use paracord. I don't think I could make enough money to make it worth trying to sell them, but I enjoy giving them to family and friends. I would like to learn how to make the ones you just showed. Nice video!
