When you say #3 is Konami, you show Castlevania, Contra, and Metal Gear Solid. But EACH game has it own dev team. Heck, Kojima split off from being an internal team at Konami and created his own company. Konami only publishes MGS games now, not develops.
I know we all love Capcom, but you show several different games franchises, many having a number of different developers. You should just make a list of your Favorite Publishers, or even the Best Developers In The 1980s (that would fit Atari).
Activision? [spit take] They made so many bad games the went bankrupt, even though they may have started off good. You say that Bungie is a "one trick pony," and you didn't put Valve on the list because "don't like Half-Life enough," yet you recognize id Studios?
It also seems you confuse the difference between developer AND publisher. For instance: You cant say Ubi Soft is a top developer, because the dev that make the Splinter Cell games is different that the one that does Ghost Recon.
I see a lot of people saying valve or blizzard.yeah, maybe.But nothing can compare to Nintendo.

Shigeru Miyamoto (the person behind mario, zelda, star fox etc.) Created the first 2d platformer, super mario. Later he created the first open world experience - The legend of zelda. Every single game from after those games were created can relate back to mr.Miyamoto's games. Thank Nintendo and Miyamoto for creating the genre. Nintendo and Miyamoto is the father of gaming. That is a fact.
Keeping in mind when the list was made - I can see why Valve was not on this list compared to today where they would top any list. However, it is inexcusable how Bethesda, Rare, Blizzard and possibly Epic Games are not on this list, they were gaming giants back in 2008, they are gaming giants now (well maybe not rare now, but they are still a popular choice).
i respect this, but if you consider current games, nintendo would barely be on it, since they f**ked up the up until the release of mario galaxy 2 and zelda skyward sword, so has SEGA, based on current gaming EA, Bethesda, Blizzard and Valve should be on the list.

They own many great developers but overall EA is just like every other asshole publisher, Valve is the only publisher i've seen that departs from the conventional (take no risks) philosophy, and EA has been pissing everyone off with orgin.

@chipman5678 i'd say that Nintendo has lost it since the Early game cube era. Afterwords they just kept making bland products that are to childish. Before they felt unique. Mario wasn't such of a kids game, it felt kinda adult like. Metroid prime on the game cube was awesome.

@TheMhn5 Those are all made by different people, they just all use the Unreal engine (which is made by Epic Games). Epic Games made Gears of War, Unreal, BulletStorm, and a lot of other games.

I think most of these people are old-school though and simply pick nostalgic choices for their lists. Would have thrown Id in higher, since they pretty much created the FPS genre, and the online FPS genre by themselves with Wolfenstein, Doom and Quake. Half Life was based on the Quake engine.
List is pretty good though. Problem is that there are so many 'A' class or 'Classic' developers around now like Valve, Bioware, EA or Blizzard

..but it seems you were little confused as to what criteria the list should should adhere to..it feels like a top 10 list of most influential game developers in the beginning..and then switches to a top 10 list of most nostalgic game developers..i do agree with your number 1..

@fonsecajunior1 Sure. Rockstar(the whole company) also did Red Dead Redemption and Bully. Also, I'm quite willing to admit, I like GTA a whole lot better than Halo. It's my personal list to a great extent and since I don't like Halo games, they're less likely to influence my decisions.

Valve, for revolutionizing the FPS, giving us Steam, giving us unforgettable games (honestly, what gamer hasn't at least heard the meme 'the cake is a lie'?). Bioware, for being an incredibly dedicated dev. to their gamers, revolutionizing the RPG--first with Baldur's Gate, then again with KotOR and Mass Effect series, consistently not only putting out games, but great games....list goes on..

people, Valve started in 1998, nintendo started in 1889 like the anothe ones. They have more expirience than Valve.
The fun fact is that these guys made a shitload of games but they only get 85 or 75 of score, evvery time Valve makes a game, that game has 95 or 85 of score
