@CRBASF2 STOP! dont listen to him, he has no actual knowledge on the subject, he just plays video games! they're both equal because they meet different requirements for different jobs. they serve the same purpose but under different conditions. the marines use the huey for the same reason they use the cobra instead of the apache, it requires less to maintain, and is smaller and therefore easier to fit and transport on an aircraft carrier. it is also cheaper to manufacture. the army is different.
@jimmy134496 Same reason the USMC gets their own variant of the F-35 Lightning II. The A and C models are just fine, but since the Marines operate in an entirely different purview, they require some additional stuff from their equipment that is not relevant to, say, the Army. I was actually a bit stunned when I first learned of the Venom and Viper simply because they were based on such ancient chassis, but hey, if it works, it works. They know their business.
I wonder if it's a "Y" because they think they can upgrade it down the road even more. For instance the AH-1Z is supposed to be the last incarnation of the Cobra Hence the "Z" (I guess?)
@lst1195 well, an easier thing to do would be to go to wikipedia, the article is trustworthy to my knowledge, but there arent just the ah variations, then you have the single engine cobras, and an entirely separate line of super cobras that the viper belongs to. as far as i know, they have full intention to keep upgrading, and even if they make no knew models, im sure they'll have several upgrades, weapons systems, counter measures, and what have you. the huey is more then likely the same.
@lst1195 sorry if it seems poorly written or something, i very freaking tired so im sorry, ill try and give you a better answer in the morning if you want. dont judge me just yet.
Hmm wonder how hard it is to land one of these things?? Hope I'm in that cockpit one day :)

Awesome looking Huey, but really, what's the difference between this and say, a Pave Hawk?
