Must be one of the sweetest times for them ever to remember when they get older. I wish I'd played there on the drums, 'coz I like myself to play such improvisations on the drums.
I am going to meet Coverdale tomorrow! Been a fan since 1981 and until 1987 the guy had the greatest rock voice ever in my book. What a soulful bluesy perfect singer.
This is taken from said concert. It is available on DVD. Gillan stood in for Dio who was with Rainbow at the time. Which explains Blackmoore's absence. Furthermore, this isnt Deep Purple, yes it features most of the members that were current at the time (Dunno where Paice was) but Glover and Gillan werent in Purple when this was performed.
thnx man...but i know very well the history of purple and of course blackmore's decision to leave purple!i had just heard tha Gillan had once sung for this project...but i must doing wrong.
You're right. This may be in 1974-1975, because The Butterfly Ball and The Grasshoper's Feast was sold in 1974. Roger Glover was no more in Deep Purple from this year.
Butterfly Ball is my favourite disc... I really love those songs.
Paice doesn't play at this concert, as the drummer who plays in the Butterfly Ball album and concert is Les Binks (who played drums in Judas Priest between 1977 and 1979, and was recommended to the band by Roger Glover).
And for Judas Priest fans, there's one of them there: drummer Les Binks, who played with Judas Priest from 1977 to 1979 (he's my favourite Priest drummer) is the one playing in this video. In fact, he joined Judas Priest because Roger Glover told them about him, as he was producing Priest's "Sin After Sin" album in 1977.
I want this video on my Timeport 280 unit.

This is NOT Deep Purple, Covardale and Glover are there, but that doesn't mean that is DP.

This is Coverdale, and I see Glover hitting a tamborine, but the only problem is that this is not Deep Purple.

Don't know why David needed the words at the beginning! This album and the Wizards Convention cd are recommended- if you can find them!

This concert was in 1975, it's the year when David Coverdale used this beard-and-shades look.
bessadale 2 years ago
We could tell that...because...he had a beard and shades !

I like Cloverdale when he sings instead of just wailing everything. Too bad he stopped doing that...

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Coverdale sounds sick when he sings and when he wails
