They must be talking crank hp, which is a) what people refer to if their car is slow and b) irrelevant. Having said that, the Z looks like its making about 320rwhp and the gst probably 300whp and is probably lightened. Either way its embarrassing.

@JDMforever11 agreed... if they arent both random numbers... what i can tell.. the z is stock in the motor department..and the eclipse has 4oo hp haha.. the weight is not significantly different enough to cause this outcome..so the eclipse driver/fan who uploaded claims he took out a 500hp Z... NOT believable for a second...!

@jabba12000 Well, considering the Eclipse makes ~410whp on 17psi means that it's using a bigger turbo. Boost doesn't dictate how much power it makes overall. So there IS something adding up in this video. PSI does not = overall power. The lbs/min rate of the turbo + psi w/ the size of compressor wheel factors in for peak power, and powerband.

@jabba12000 Single turbo set ups better suited for high end power in my opinion. It seems that the Eclipse is running a bigger turbo which gives it that advantage from the turbo overheating and having power loss up top. Although the peak maybe smaller, top end could be better than what the Z's running. Powerband>Peak HP, aslong as it's pretty even peak wise. If it's 1000hp vs 300hp, screw powerband, lol.

I agree noway Eclipse with less whp and being a four can out run a 300tt with more whp.I'm only running 15psi on my 300zxtt and have never been pulled on like that and I raced some pretty heavy headers out there!

Seriously guys, if you don't know what you're talking about... just don't talk. The fact of the matter is both of these cars have GREAT engines when built properly. I have a 300zx with some serious mods and I dominate DSMs all day. On the other end of that, I've had plenty of DSMs both FWD and AWD built to the max and smoked plenty of 300zx TT's, 3000GT VR4's ect. ect. The point is it boils down to the build and the balls. If you're lacking in either, you're gonna get your ass handed to ya.

I love how you tried to estimate WHP... I've seen mechanical engineers estimate hp but throw the drive train in there and its anyones game, so please, just stop... and goooo to the fuckkkingg dyno. Cause right now your asking me to believe that a car that must deal with 7.4 lbs per WHP just pulled easily on a car that only has to deal with 7.08 1lbs per WHP (the 300zx). My guess is you are far off in your estimations or the Z's driver just can't drive... But i'll stick with my former guess..
