  • I NEED to watch this movie in icelandic! This is just awesome! Doesn't Simba have just the cutest voice here? <3 Oh my gosh, I think I'm in love.

  • It's a pity there doesn't seem to be any faroese dubs for the disney movies, would love to hear such a version

  • @GokoJuji pufff.... xD

  • I love Icelandic! I'm from Sweden and have been doing a lot of researching about Icelandic and Iceland. Just the entire island and language is simply amazing to me! Have been trying to learn some icelandic, didn't think it would be to difficult 'cause it's related to swedish and the other scandinavian languages. But when it came to the grammar, I gave up, unfortunately. It is very beautiful though, and hopefully I will learn some Icelandic someday! :)

  • @xGuppy icelandic is realy hard i live on iceland i was born here and i dont get raly good greades in icelandic class its realy hard to learn im not all icelandic tho im also from itali and china and vietnam i would rather learn itali before icelanic

  • @icevictor96 gaur btw þú ert líka hræðilegur í ensku...

  • @atvinnumadur gaur þú ert heldur ekki atvinumadur

  • @icevictor96 haha samt alveg sama um það þú ert bara hræðinlegur í ensku maður segir: really ekiki realy, I live in ekki on, really ekki raly (skrifaðir realy á undan hvernig í andskotanum ferðu að því að skifa sama orðið mismunandi þegar það á að vera eins?), grades ekki greades. Svo fail

  • ég dírka það þegar að enst og danst fólk eru að tala íslensku það er bara svo findið :) and by the way i like this video =) .... ps. loppan icelandic is not old :)

  • @Claude111100 enskt og danskt*, fyndið* ;) málfræðinasisti hér, afsakið, haha. Íslenskan er jú gömul á þann máta að hún hefur lítið breyst miðað við önnur tungumál í mörg, mörg ár.

  • ég dírka það þegar að enst og danst fólk eru að tala íslensku það er bara svo findið :) and by the way i like this video =)

  • the icelandic language is from the old times : ) i think

  • the words that appear on the screen are different from the ones we know

  • @musicbox193

thats cause those are the litterla translations of the icelandic text.

if it had been 100% accurately translated from english to start with, none of it would have rhymed.

  • its just sound like russian... sorry...

  • @adidush703 russian?????? russian sounds nothing like icelandic

  • Lol, the english words were wrong for most of the time but it still was funny!

  • @IsaacNorman

They weren't wrong... you can't translate it word for word into Icelandic because then it wouldn't rhyme, and you have to put into account that the synch would be off as words have different lengths in different languages. Also, much of the original song probably wouldn't make sense in Icelandic, seeing as it's not idiosyncratic.

  • @eggsistoast They could have at least tried to choose words that would make sense.

  • @IsaacNorman

It doesn't make sense in English now, but it makes sense in Icelandic. They'd think the same if it was translated word for word from English into Icelandic. They don't need it to make sense in English now, as it's Icelandic anyways. (I take it you've never learned a foreign language? It's hard to understand if you've never had first-hand experience.)

  • @eggsistoast Actually I have, but icelandic is just too damn weird. Spanish and english, translated directly make more sense than this.

  • @IsaacNorman It makes perfect sense in icelandic

  • @911Dagur Of course it does. But I'm sure it doesn't say what the english Subs say. ;)

  • 1:07 So cute, haha xD but yeah im norwegian and i only understand a few words.. not really alike at all.

  • they have the english words wrong but still so cute! :D

  • "Eg mun gera vad sem er", haha, dette liker jeg. digger når han sier det

  • whaaat? I'm Norwegian and this is extremely hard to understand!! Haha, I only understand a few words, quite sad really... :/

Men jeg liker lyden da! Selv om den norske versjonen selvfølgelig er best ;D

  • ég fætist á íslandi og í vestmaneyjum og é horvaði á lion king og þú skalt grjót haltakjafti

  • @97greendragon Ehm. Ef þú fæddist á Vestmanneyjum ættiru að kunna góða og sterka Íslensku. En það er bara fáranlega lélega Íslensku.

  • simbi yngsti:ólafur kristján krisleifsson

    simbi yngri:kristleifur kristleifsson

    simbi eldri:ævar örn kristinsson

  • @97greendragon say what? Felix Bergsson talaði

  • @Kudiz

Þú Ég kem frá Íslandi og íslensk getur þú sænskur? Ég skil íslensku, en hvað þú skrifar, vinsamlegast skrifaðu mér svo ég get sagt þér smá setningar á íslensku við þig! Takk fyrir svarið?!

  • jag är ifrån Sverige och vill lära mig Isländska någon dag..

  • ICELANDIC! I never thought of this language! awesome though!

  • Elska þennan útgáfu en ég verð að viðurkenna að sænska útgáfan er líka góð(ég á spóluna á sænsku :D)

Love this version but I gotta admit that the swedish version is good too( I have the video on swedish :D)

  • this i a grate song i am from iceland and i like this version better than the english but i still love the english version it fit's the movie better than the icelandic because in the iclandic version it says im gona be a smart king but it supost to be i just can't wait to be king in the movie he is talking about how he cant wait to be king not that he's going to be king.............

the icelandic version is better i think but the english one fit's better. The english movie is also mutch better!

  • Very good. Icelandic is a beautiful language.

  • zjebane

  • You're right!! Icelandic Simba does sound cute and rowdy! :D

  • SIMBA'S VOICE IS SO CUTE AW

  • ELSKA ÞETTA

  • Lol your translating wrong xD

  • @0x0Panda0x0 ´the translating isn't wrong .. is the english translation of the icelandic lyric, so that people who don't understand icelandic know what they are saying ;)

  • I think Icelandic is very stylish, powerful and feeling distinct language.

    (I don't know Icelandic.

So I'm not understand this language, but I feeling something distinct.hahaha)

    I love Icelandic language!!!

I want to learn Icelandic language.

but I can't teaching Icelandic language.

(Among the Korean peoples,no Icelandic language teachers.

Among the Korean books and websites,no Icelandic language teaching books and sites)

  • @junbokjook89 i agree!! I love disney songs in icelandic. there's something bout it. lol

  • modify :  but I can't teaching->but I can't learn.

    I accidentally typos.Hahaha.

  • @junbokjook89 If you can improve your English, there are several books in English for learning Icelandic. I wish there was one in Korean though!

  • @PaulSLambeth Thank for your advice!!!

  • @junbokjook89 learn Norwegian Swedish or Danish

  • @junbokjook89 lol djöfulsins faggi ertu

  • lol loksins eitthvað á íslensku

  • Haha thx fyrir að láta þetta inná íslensku, það minnir mann svo á gamla tíma =D

  • "A king can,if he wants,stick a plug up your mouth"

    LOL sounds wrong,doesen't it?

  • Wow! Some of the lines are WAY different than the English version. Still, it was a very enjoyable video.

  • hay luv this and thx for upload this language is beatifuler as my german language lol!!

  • Omg at the beginning the translation is like the italian version xD

  • @boryskow HAHAHA he says Tími til!! xD

  • You're looking waaaaaaaay too hard for swears. :b

  • This Disney song has such a great melowdy.I like it.

  • Coolio! Simba sounds so cute in this language! ^.^

And Zazu sounds just as funny as in English. XD

  • hahah best i heeeimi :''D

  • váá..minningarnar hellast alveg yfir mig haha. elska þetta!

I grew up watching this movie...and singing this song:)

  • What? That's not what he says here at all.

It's not the same in English and Icelandic.

  • Gaur, farðu á Google og skrifaðu Just Can't wait to be king lyrics.

Dude, go to Google and write Just Can't wait to be king lyrics.

  • Well, duh. I know what the ENGLISH lyrics are. But the song isn't identical in Icelandic...

Unless I read your comment wrong?

It sounded like you said the lyrics mean the same thing in Icelandic and English.

  • You are an idiot...

  • that's because else it wouldn't fit in!!!

  • The translation in the video is identical translation to the Icelandic lyrics. I'm sure he/she knows the original isn't the same as Icelandic as it can't be because of the difference of phrasing etc.

The translation is clearly meant to show how the lyrics sound in Icelandic.

  • Haha ok, jamms.

  • wouldn't it be better to say clever king, as opposed to smart king? :B

nice video. good for use when showing off Icelandic to random people ehuahha.

  • de är bra:-)

  • thanks for the translation thing in the description, I'm trying to teach myself icelandic but seeing as a teacher is hard to find, I am almost nowhere!

  • I disagree

  • song sounds cool in icelandic, but its kinda sad how much it changes! its barely the same song!

  • You have to remember it's not really changed.

In other country they have less words alot of times and they put things differently.

So it still gives the same message.

  • Hahah, ágætur! I'm currently studying Icelandic and these vids are great help. <3

  • hehe ;D this one is really great xD

i want to learn icelandic xD

  • I definitely love this language! I wish I could speak it...

  • Same here! I'm half-Icelandic and I only understand five words in the language! lolz!

  • @Elessidil91 Not so much.

  • @Elessidil91 þú ert líka algjör faggi

  • he is going to be a king and the song is just a bout that eg er islenskur :D

  • Its funny, i dont understand so much in the begining buut i understand kongur! XD and i hear bla bla bla kongur! XD

  • and where are u from?

  • Faroe Islands!

  • something like Latin noun declension?

    thank you for replying anyway!

  • can anyone explain why 'king' is sometimes 'kongur' and sometimes 'konungur'?

    Anyway, Icelandic is sooooooooooooooooo beautiful....

  • No!!! - iceland94hildur is not right. "Kóngur" and "konungur" are just two seperate words for "king". "Kóngur" is just a shorter word for it and "konungur" is a little more formal.

If you wanted to say "the king" it would be either "kóngurinn" or "konungurinn".

iceland94hildur - þú veist greinilega ekki hvað greinir er!

  • nei ég er í vondum málum þegar ég kem aftur til íslands eftir árs dvöl í skotlandi.

  • Er alveg sammála thér shb93.

Mér finnst Lion King á íslendsku hljómar allra best, svo ensku og danska version'in er alveg hrædileg hehe their lifa sig ekki eins mikid inn í myndina eins og leikararnir á íslandi.

  • það á ekki að horfa á lion king á neinu öðru tungumáli en íslensku

    það er bannað!

  • @shb93 Ég er alveg sammála þessari starðreynd

  • OMG I LOVE THIS SONG. Never heard icelandic language before? Is this official language in Iceland? do they speak english too? I love the English translation better then us USA one.. hehe. Seems more sence!

  • 1. Yes, Icelandic is the official language of Iceland. 2. Almost every Icelander speaks English and understands it because we don't dub the TV shows on the telly. They are in English.

And I am very glad you like the translation! Most of the people here have sticks up their arses and are all: It doesn't make sense, and blah blah ^^ Cool that you like it.

  • you mean shows aren't dubbed in Icelandic?

  • Uhm, shows like Friends and Frasier and C.S.I and such, aren't dubbed, no. It's in English with Icelandic subtitles.
